Yeah I researched this a little and it seems some people managed to get the amplifi app to run (similar to firehawk remote) but issues arose when trying to connect bluetooth even with a card There is a post on ideascale requesting a pc editor, if that's really what you need then register and vote for it, it has been recently proven that line 6 take notice of the ideas submitted on there

Yeah, I guess ideally it's designed to run straight into a pa system or a full range flat response powered speaker (frfr) I never liked that sound much so I dumped the powered speaker and now use a guitar amp Any amp will colour the sound by variable amounts but if your amp has an FX loop you can plug the Firehawk into the fx return and it will bypass your amps preamp and only use the poweramp section, this will colour the sound less and you will get more of a "guitar amp" sound in my opinion There is also four cable method (4cm) which enables you to use your amp as normal and use the Firehawk just for effects, you can then place effects before the preamp and after, there are posts on here about setting that up and I think bond did a video Also you can plug straight into the front of your amp and engage the output switch to "amp" on the Firehawk, though personally I find that the least pleasing to my ears

I wonder if an anti-glare screen protector would help with playing in sunlight? For a small cost you can get ones for mobile phones on ebay, they could be trimmed to fit I've never tried anything like this though, not even on my phone but it might work

Exactly, I damaged my calf muscle playing football at the weekend and I'm on strict doctors orders to rest the leg and keep it raised So I'm sat on the sofa with my guitar and phone, my amp and the Firehawk are the other side of the room but I can control everything from here without having to move, I'm expecting a lengthy lay off so was quite depressed about it yesterday but since I hooked up the guitar I'm feeling much more positive about things lol Oh and the more I use this thing the more it is blowing me away, the tones I'm getting after just a week are much better than anything I got out of the hd500 or zoom g5 and I tweaked those things for ages, I hope they decide to release model and effect packs for the Firehawk to keep it fresh further down the line as I can definitely see myself holding onto this pedal for a good few years

Digital Igloo Member Sag: Lower Sag values offer a "tighter" responsiveness for metal and djent playing; higher values provide more touch dynamics & sustain for blues and classic rock riffs. Hum: Controls how much heater hum interacts with your tone. For the cleanest tone, set this to 0%. Bias: Changes the Bias of the power tubes. Lower values achieve a "colder" Class AB biasing. At maximum, the amp is operating in Class A. Bias X (Excursion): Determines how the power amp tubes' voicing reacts when pushed hard. Set low for a tighter feel. Set high for more tube compression. This parameter is highly reactive with the Drive setting. Thanks DI

I thought it might be worthwhile having a thread for tips about using the Firehawk as some users have switched from the hd500 and have a lot of tonebuilding experience and for others it's their first time using an amp modeller Something I've found useful in getting a cleaner tone and reducing the fizz or harshness is setting the hd amps with the following Sag=90% Hum=10% Bias=90% Bias excursion=95% In all honesty I don't fully understand what these parameters are changing but when I set it this way it seems to sound more natural across all the hd amps, if anybody could explain these settings or post a link to an explanation it would gratefully received

Just select the block you want to change and press where it says type of effect either delay/mod/stomp etc and then press "type" and select stomp

Latency half a second at preset change on Firehawk?
mcbeddall replied to alexdreamworld's topic in Firehawk
I voted, there are a few submissions on ideascale that cover the issue with switching presets, that's probably why there were only four votes, they are spread across multiple submissions I hope we get some news about this soon, and the freezing issue -

Interesting about using the same amps, I'll definitely be trying this later, played a gig last night with my old pedal (zoom g5) mainly because of the patch switching issue, I've been programming the Firehawk all week and I'm absolutely stunned by some of the tones I'm getting, it's actually a lot better than I was expecting and so quick, the only thing slowing me down is the time spent deciding what to create next lol, but last night it really took the shine off a great night by having to use my old gear, the zoom doesn't sound nearly as good and I'm desperate to melt some faces with the hawk -
Wow looks cool, I don't have that kinda cash spare at the moment though I hope they make a more affordable frfr speaker to go with that and the Firehawk It's a crying shame that screen isn't touch sensitive to double as an editor

Hmmm I'm not so sure what you mean now lol, you do realise you can turn the wah on and off at any time within any patch by just pressing down on the toe of the pedal? If you mean you need control of volume and wah at the same time? Then yeah you need another expression pedal Or use auto wah and the pedal for volume
-
I think meambobbo is working on a new tone guide that will cover all pedals by explaining things like that you demonstrated
-
Ah think I know what you mean now, try switching the wah on and then save the patch, so it's saved in its on state
-
Just press down on the toe of the pedal
-
Yeah something like that would work for me, I never switch banks mid song only between songs
-
Assuming that you have the latest firmware and app installed (the update did reduce lag to a degree) then all you can really do is hang on in there like the rest of us, we're all waiting for this issue to be resolved and it's currently being worked on by line 6
-
To save just long press on the patch pedal that your editing (A,B,C or D) to enter save mode Long press again on the same patch pedal to save it in its current location or navigate to a different patch and long press to save it there
-
Push in the big volume knob twice and the led's turn pink, that then controls patch volume I can't work out how to save it without the app though I'm off to read the manual

How did I live this long without Octoverb in my life? How?

I use a mustang amp which is similar in principle to the vetta, if you still have it I'd use that on stage by plugging into the fx return and you can still run the Firehawk xlr outs to the pa, so you can monitor yourself on stage and have great quality going to the desk

They only arrived in the UK on Monday bud

Wow. I had such a frustrating day yesterday with the Firehawk, and now I understand what all the complaints were about originally First of all the Firehawk arrived while I was at work so a neighbour took delivery, all good except they selfishly decided to go out before I got home, and as though they were trying to torment me I could see my package in their porch but couldn't get to it, thought about breaking a window for a bit but just left sobbing Finally he gets home, I get the hawk open it up and before I even manage to put it on the floor I notice one of the switches is totally screwed up and is pointing out the machine at an odd 30 degree angle, would be handy if I had a club foot I thought. I plugged it in anyway and fortunately the switch still worked so I went through the presets with headphones on, really unimpressed with most and because I'm on firmware 1.01 the glitches noises and pops are all still present, and kudos to anyone brave enough to gig it that way, I imagine taking out a cone or two wouldn't be hard at high volumes Decide to update the firmware via the app and have a break while it chugs along, no chance, I can't stay connected via bluetooth for more than 2 seconds, tried it 20 times to no avail and sobbed a bit more Resign myself to dusting off my screwed up laptop and updating from there, downloaded the updater and plugged in the Firehawk, and it didn't recognise it, tried different cables, ports, rooms (feng shui) Eventually stumble across a post on here that advises downloading the asio driver (honestly never occurred to me) Got the Firehawk to update and ready to go, no, still won't connect via bluetooth, tried everything I could think of but brain was hurting by now, eventually uninstalling and reinstalling the app got it going So at 1am I finally get to do some tweaking. Wow this thing is freaking awesome when it works, had to be strong at 2am and force myself to bed ready for work the next day Genuinely excited to get home today and have another go, created some really amazing patches in the little time I had and literally cannot wait to amp it up later Seriously though I can really understand why a few people decided not to persevere, but I'm glad I did

Yeah I was raging to be honest, just my blooming luck I thought. Thankfully Andertons were pretty good about it to be honest, it only took a 5 minute phone call to arrange getting a replacement, originally I was fearful that they might have shipped all the units and I'd have to wait for the next shipment but thankfully that wasn't the case

Yeah should still be stereo, I think they designed it with that in mind, I'd set up a patch with a pan effect or stereo delay over the top to test it out though
