And why do you think helix will be any different? I won't be suckered in again, I'll let others do the beta testing for me, 4 months in and I still have to use my old rig for gigs
-
Doesn't the interface come with the guitar? That's crazy
-
I could be wrong but I think the music you intend to stream needs to be stored on your phone Also check your running the latest app and firmware on the firehawk, if you only just got the firehawk it's likely it will need an update
-
I'm guessing that's a no then
-
I think zoom do something like that with their multistomp pedals, every month or so they release a new amp or effect for purchase and you can try them out for free before you buy. I think it's a brilliant idea as it keeps you coming back and everybody looks forward to "effect day"
-
I could be wrong but if I remember correctly that's how the pod XT live worked, you could bank up and it would just sit there and wait until you hit another button
-
There's no way I would part with anymore money for model packs or whatever, the way I see it this paperweight owes me £350 as it is absolutely useless for my needs (seriously I haven't powered it up in over 2 months) We should be rewarded for sticking this out with free amps and free effects
-
Yeah I find 4 patches to be just enough for any given song, for example we do a cover of dakota by the stereophonic so I use 1)synth sound for intro 2)clean sound for verse picking riff 3)dirty harmonised for chorus lead 4)dirty for outro Then I bank up for the next song which might use 4 completely different patches Are you using more than 4 patches in one song?
-
The ability to store and load setlists would help alleviate some of the issue. If you could drag and drop patches into place and then send them all to the firehawk it wouldn't be so cumbersome to set up banks and you could have a bank for each song you play, if you want to hear the factory presets you should be able to just load all those up too, the whole saving and loading process seems to be behind when using the app technology which I find to be well nifty
-
I need faster patch changes and much less noise when switching patches Anything else is a bonus, but I agree with almost everything already submitted on ideascale so there a literally hundreds of improvements that could be made, my favourites so far are 1)the ability to save/load entire set lists 2)the ability to overwrite when editing an existing patch 3)I don't want to resync everytime I put the app in the background 4)give us some free new amps/effects to say sorry for letting your loyal customers down
-
Sounds like a firmware fix. Probably holding back the units because they don't want anymore people getting the hump and also some people have had issues trying to update But if it is some kind of hardware update they better be planning on a recall of the old units
-
It's the software that's lacking I believe we all have the same problem and yeah its annoying as hell , the whole system of saving and storing should and could be much better, plenty of submissions on ideascale about this and storing of setlists etc, take a look, vote for em and have your say
-
You know somebody's gonna say factory reset and then reinstall firmware so I might as well be THAT guy Apart from that I'm guessing you've tried turning the master volume knob down so that the signal isn't too hot As you probably already know I've managed to record with no problems but unfortunately it's the bass players pc we use to record so I can't look into the settings etc right now
-
You'll have nothing going into the front of the Marshall Just a cable from the firehawk 1/4 inch out to the Marshall fx return, then none of the eq knobs on the Marshall will work, only the master volume, all of your tone shaping will be controlled by the firehawk
-
I want one with a built in monitor, so I can melt my own face
-
Not really sure how much smaller you could get it if there is a wah pedal, 8 stomp switches each with a display, I'm guessing you'd need a bank up and down too, I mean you can't really move the switches any closer together, some people think the firehawk ones are already too close
-
Surely there's some kind of legal obligation for line 6 to refund people? No sane person would argue it can be used in a live situation
-
I'm using a potato, cab sims are a bit shoddy on it but changing patches doesn't make me want to eat my own eyeballs
-
My patience is running out that's for sure, I've tried not to bash the firehawk as plenty of people are doing that for me and we're stuck with the situation as it is and have to make the best of it, but the fact remains that the firehawk should never have been released in this state, it's disgusting really, there is no way these issues were missed during development, it's clear that they knew of the problems and just thought to hell with our customers Paul hindmarsh did a video from musicmesse in Germany and you can see the frustration on his face as he tries to keep his patch changes in time, this was recorded prior to release. I will certainly avoid being an early adopter of any future line6 releases. Digital igloo will probably chime in in a few days time just to calm us all down again, thing is, firehawk isn't his project, so why aren't the firehawk developers in here giving us an explanation
-
Yeah sure, I'm not saying it wouldn't be a useful feature, I voted for it on ideascale, but like you say mine is a doorstop at the moment until patch changing gets fixed I will probably run in line mode and sacrifice my on stage sound a little to make sure that FOH is exactly how I want it, if I could turn off or turn down the cab sim coming out of the 1/4 inch out then that would be ideal. I don't think the cab sims sound that bad playing through my amp though, not like other pedals I've owned where it made the sound really distant
-
Yep thank god I didn't sell my zoom g5, apart from one recording session I haven't used the firehawk for 2 months, hopefully it's sorted soon
-
I think the cabs are from pod 2.0 or something like that, with my old pedal I couldn't use cab sims when going into the fx return of my amp because it sounded really washed out, with the firehawk it sounds better with cab sims on which I found strange, maybe the cab sims are watered down somehow from the hd500 cabs
-
I think the speaker emulations are different, firehawk sounds better to my ears as there's none of that high end fizz you get with the hd500 but I'm not A/B ing the two because I sold my 500 long ago, might be worth experimenting with the cab set up though
-
Surely if you set up your patches using amp and speaker modelling that's what you want to monitor on stage, so the sensible option is to use your amps fx return or get a powered monitor
