  1. Yeah I ordered the Firehawk with Andertons like yourself back in February I think, I haven't had an email about delivery or anything yet but as you know the website says they'll have them tomorrow (slightly annoying as it's my first day back at work and I had the whole of last week off, sods law)
  2. In fact I very nearly bought a variax 500 for £450 off eBay yesterday, luckily I realised it wasn't the jtv I've been after before I confirmed to buy haha
  3. Those links are for the hd500 and not the Firehawk lol, don't worry we've all been there,it is Sunday afterall
  4. Connect a guitar cable from the Firehawk output to the fx return on the amp and your good to go (not sure what you should set that level knob to on the back of your amp, maybe somebody else can help with that) Basically that will bypass the tone shaping in your amp and your just using the power amp part of the guitar amp so amp models coming from the Firehawk will sound better that way Also seeing as your using a guitar cab you may find that selecting "no cab" on your Firehawk amp model sounds better Finally you can experiment whether to set the Firehawk output to amp or direct but I guess direct would sound better, you may have to tweak your patches if you create them using headphones, it will be much better if you can create the tones while referencing it through the amp at the volume you intend to play
  5. Both are saying £325 maybe they changed it
  6. I'm hoping to get my firehawk this week, literally cannot wait now, everything seems to be coming together with the updates, thanks to all for the input about the variax, I'm definitely gonna step up my search for one now (just really wanted a gold one)
  7. I saw a video on YouTube where a guy used a metronome app without problems, there are quite a few decent free drum apps available on Android and I've downloaded a few in the hope that they'll work with the Firehawk for headphone practice, maybe try a different app?
  8. I don't mean to hijack this thread but I've also been looking at getting a jtv-59 so I'm curious to know your thoughts about it, obviously the acoustic sounds are a big draw but could I potentially replace my fender telecaster with it live? I love the tele sound and I have seymour duncan quarter pounders fitted which sound awesome but the possibilities with the variax are very tempting, like being able to switch to a les Paul for solo's
  9. First thing to do is to check you have the latest firmware on the fx100 and the latest version of the app
  10. I detuned my telecaster to c# to try it out and it's pretty much unplayable due to the fret buzz and strings sliding off the neck, sounds awful too, I think your really asking too much of the guitar, most guitar's aren't meant to be tuned that low never mind the variax
  11. We all hope so, just waiting for a new firmware to be released, it's 1-2 weeks away
  12. Do you have to be connected to the app when playing live? My first thought is that it could be the bluetooth playing up
  13. They are aware of the lag for sure, hd500 had the same problem at launch and I believe amplifi did at some extent too, both were fixed with firmware updates. Not sure if your aware of this but if you can somehow set up a patch to cover an entire song by switching effects on and off on the top row of buttons you obviously won't get the lag as your not switching patches just effects, also I saw some reports that if you use the normal amps and not hd switching is quicker and if the app isn't connected it's quicker also
  14. Yeah maybe if you contacted your retailer they might grant an extension to your 30 day refund, given the circumstances I'm sure they'd rather you kept it for a few extra weeks than have to refund you and lose money
  15. I'm yet to find a multi fx that sounds good through a guitar amp with cab sims on, but as already stated you can turn the cab off, it always sounds distant to me with cab sims on, more lush maybe but once in a band mix it gets lost, I wouldn't expect the Firehawk cabs to sound any better than what you've already tried
  16. Like bond says you can set up a 4CM but there are no "preamp only models" on the Firehawk apart from "tube instrument preamp" which I think is meant for vocals or keys etc, the app is free to download, you should have a look at that and you can see for yourself what amps are available
  17. What do you mean by patch normalisation?
  18. Ah I see, on their web picture they have a big line 6 poster in the window so I just put 2 and 2 together, not the first time assumption has ballsed up my day lol
  19. Sooner than it was yesterday, but not as soon as it will be tomorrow, but that's just a guess
  20. For sure, with the tap tempo it would have to be switchable so you could have global or per patch, the ideal scenario would be for drummers to practice to such a high standard that there is never a need for tap tempo, you just set the tempo per patch and it works, unfortunately my drummer has very poor timekeeping and I don't mean he turns up late for rehearsal
  21. I would expect it to change everytime you switch patches but I can see the advantages of each patch being tied to whatever tempo is set with the tap switch
  22. Here is a guitar shop in Peterborough that stocks line 6 stuff GTR MUSIC 23 Orton Enterprise Center, Bakewell Road, Peterborough PE2 6XU Probably worth a call beforehand to check they have one to demo (when released, remember nobody in the uk has them yet)
  23. An announcement on a looper for the Firehawk could be imminent, so I'd give it a bit of time and see what develops, firehawk gives you limitless patches potentially as they can be saved to the app and downloaded anytime but the hardware itself will hold 32 banks of 4 so 128 patches and within each patch you can turn fx on and off with the top row of footswitches To date there are no updates or tones for purchase but that doesn't mean there never will be
  24. Oh yeah that's good, much less intrusive than I'd imagined
