  1. Well, bar gigs, drunks, destruction of a $450 Helix Control (or $200 FCB1010/UNO2) vs $1700 Helix Floor....just sayin', s*&t happens..... :-)
  2. Newly created rumor - how long will it take to make it 'round the world - Fractal modelers are actually made from 3D printed human organs. That's why they have superior "feel".
  3. Here at the Line6 Community, we like Helix. Over at the Fractal Community, they prefer AXE. SURPRISE! As DD stated, if you know what you're doing, either will make tones indistinguishable from the other. FEEL is so subjective as to be a waste of time to discuss. It feels right or it doesn't, only you can decide. One interesting thing to note. You can buy a Helix from a store with a returns policy. Once you've sold a family member to buy a Fractal product, it's a done deal. Got a free afternoon? Go over to the TGP Digital and Modeling forum. You'll discover MANY who've bought one or the other, sold it, bought the other, sold it and switched back....... You'll also find TONS of discussion over the pros and cons of both, and QC too! And Mooer and Amplifire and .....
  4. Go to Amazon. Search "MIDI Footswitch". Take your pick. Discontinued, but for your stated limited needs, probably the best ever made. They pop up on eBay all the time. Compact, durable, just a couple of DIP switches to set. Amazon.com: Rolls MP128 MIDIBuddy MIDI Foot Controller: Musical Instruments
  5. Cross that bridge when you get to it.
  6. If you followed the directions, the first thing you did was to install HX Edit 3.10. From within HX Edit you selected "Check for Updates". The first part of the actual update process was to clearly and unambiguously suggest that you create a backup. After the update you were advised to do a factory reset, then restore from the backup. At this point you need to go into HX Edit, click on the ? in the lower left corner and select "About". At the top of the ABOUT screen you'll see the installed FW version (should be 3.11), and at the bottom you'll see the HX Edit version (3.10). Then go into the Global Settings on the Helix and play with the FOOTSWITCHES settings until you get back to what you had. Remember that FS6, whose Scribble Strip says "Preset/Stomp" is used to Toggle between the Modes, which are customized using the aforementioned Global Settings. Just a suggestion - you might want to take a few minutes to RTM. It explains the Global Settings better than I can.
  7. Restore your Global Settings from the Backup you made (per the instructions) when you did the update. You DID follow the instructions? EDIT: Including doing the factory reset after the update......
  8. It's not a "Global" setting. When you create your presets, in the Input Block, set "In-z" to 1M Ohm. That way your pickups will always be loaded at 1M Ohm, unaffected by the impedance of the individual effects used in the presets. BUT it has to be set in the Input Block of EACH preset as you create them.
  9. Another way. I would use the other method and use the Up/Down switches for BANKS, which allows me to have access to all 8 Snapshots in Preset Mode, and by pressing Bank Up/Down I get a temporary 8 Preset display. I use 10 Stomps in Stomp Mode, which I believe would be great for the way I suggested, giving the option of stepping through or going to a specific snapshot, but there's many ways to do this. Play around with the options in Global Settings>Footswitches, there may be a configuration that works better for you.
  10. Sorry, missed it in the text. See the attached screenshot:
  11. It's helpful when asking a question to state which device you're asking about. If you have the HX Stomp, you can set a pair of external buttons (assuming you don't want to sacrifice two of your three Stomps) to Preset Up and Snapshot Up. On Helix Floor/Rack (or HXS) you can do the same thing using CommandCenter to assign those functions to Stomp Mode Footswitches (or external switches). For external switches you can use mechanical switches or MIDI, though you'd probably configure a MIDI controller differently, depending on the controller's capabilities and your specific needs.
  12. In addition to being specific about which GAIN you're talking about and the make/model of the board - some boards have a MIC/LINE switch in addition to the Pre-Gain knob - you should also check to see that it's not a USB thing by disconnecting any USB cables that are in the system. And (you may have heard this before) make sure you're on the latest FW (v3.11) and, if so, do a factory reset just for giggles.
  13. You left out a critical factor, the PRE setting on the mixer. In Global Settings>Ins/Outs, set the XLR Outs to MIC. Set this way, the PRE on my mixer goes up to 75% without noticeable hiss. Set to LINE, the PRE only goes to around 60% before noticeable hiss. This is the case with any of the Inputs, even with the BIG KNOB set 100% (UNITY). This will be the case with most ANYTHING you plug into a board that has active electronics, vs a simple mic connection. Even high end processors make noise.
  14. It CAN'T be a problem with the update, since mine works fine. My controller is NOT sending a toggling message, nor is it sending different messages on press/release. It sends 127, ONCE, on Press, nothing on release, every time. Have you used a MIDI monitor to check EXACTLY what the MC6 is sending?
  15. Your analog audio outputs always work unless the volume knob is turned all the way down. Check your AI. Some have a knob or switch that controls the mix of audio to their outputs, and if it's set 100% to the computer side vs the direct monitoring side that could cause the problem you're describing.
  16. Start simple. Unplug everything. Do a factory reset - reboot holding FS 2+3. Plug your headphones in. Turn up the volume knob. Anything?
  17. Did a quick test as I'm on my way out. Recreated the preset with the settings you specified, got the same results as you. Removed the Return, same results as you. Restored the Return and turned OFF Spillover, works fine. It seems that the problem only occurs when BOTH the Return and Spillover are in use. Also, HX Edit freaks out, which is to say the preset with both the Return and Spillover can only be dealt with directly on the box. Very strange indeed! On my way out, but looking forward to seeing what @HonestOpinion comes up with.
  18. I've got my MIDI controller (FCB1010/UNO2) sending non-toggling CC#52 Value 127 and CC#53 Value 127. FS 4 is set to Preset DOWN; FS 5 is set to Preset UP. Preset UP/DOWN works perfectly from either device. Something in your MC6 is set wrong.
  19. Using a MIDI Monitor (MIDIOX), sending the PC over either USB or regular MIDI, the PC is sent immediately, no delay that I can detect. However, I did notice that it's sending the LSB/MSB messages twice, once before the PC and again after. It didn't used to do that. If your amp has multiple Banks, that may be causing a hiccup.
  20. Before posting a problem as a BUG you should ask for help in the regular Helix Forum. We'll need more info before we can offer specific help. What exactly do you mean by "snapshot stops working"? When you load or re-load a preset, the snapshot that was saved as the default will re-load. Unless Global Settings>Preferences>Snapshot Edits is set to RECALL, any changes made to a snapshot need to be saved before changing snapshots or they'll be lost. Of course, any changes made anywhere in a preset need to be saved before changing presets. To test whether it's a problem with your preset or your Helix, you should attach your preset so we can test it. FWIW - I have no problems with snapshots and send/return blocks.
  21. Yes, TS. IF everything is plugged into the same high quality emi/rfi filtered power strip AND there's no problem with the "house" wiring, AND if both amps have a ground switch (Helix FLOOR has one, IDK about the LT/Rack), then you SHOULD be safe. Ground loops are hard to predict or troubleshoot. KISS applies.
  22. Unless the JP-2C has a parallel FX loop that you can use to route the preamp separately to the JP power amp, you'll need to add an FX Loop 2 Send block between the the FX Loop 1 block and the "wet" FX and and take that send to the JP FX Loop Return to get the JP preamp (the DRY signal) into the JP's power amp>speaker. Otherwise the plan looks solid.

No. You need to check your negative attitude at the door. In a thread about cats you post about dogs, then curse out the OP (that's me) for reminding you of what the thread is about? Keep it up with the foul language and personal attacks, I'm sure you'll become very popular around here.
  24. Since I don't work for L6, L6 is not suggesting that you vote for a bug fix. FWIW - MANY people have been requesting LFO control for all sorts of things. I suspect that they're working on a "big picture" solution, rather than patching individual smaller problems, and that we'll see this resolved when they get that sorted.
  25. What part of "a solution to this problem" did you mistake for "a feature request"? The point of voting for "a solution to this problem" is to let them know that we're aware that they're aware of the problem, and we want it fixed! IOW, applying pressure the only way we can. In case you're unaware, there's nobody on this forum from Line6, just us users, and we share your pain!
