Did you do the reset I suggested?

Part of this statement is false...... Anecdotal evidence in refutation of the L6 "anti-MAC" bias: Helix Native is mostly MIDI enabled, except for Program Change Messages. They only work on DAWs that run on MAC, NOT in the myriad DAWs that only run on PCs. I've questioned L6 on this (admittedly minor problem) in at least three places. No answer. Must be a conspiracy.......

You just bought a very complex digital device. Do you REALLY expect to master it in a couple of hours? I sure didn't! Keep at it. The sounds are in there, you just have to learn how to find them. Something that new users often overlook is that it's only going to sound as good as the audio playback system that you're listening to it through. Many of us have been through a long process of discovering what playback system works best for us. After trying Desktop Monitors (Rokit6), FRFR (HR FRFR112) and a tube combo (Tweaker 15/112) through the FX Loop return, I'm currently quite happy with my Powercab 112+. YMMV.

Frank Richotte has posted over on TGP that there's a HotFix on the way. Hang in there.......In the meantime, it's been said that if re-boot and don't touch anything for at least 30 seconds, that fixes some of these weird problems.

You did it wrong. Guitar>Helix Input>Effects>FX Loop 1 Block>Helix Send 1>Amp Input>Amp FX Loop Send>Helix Return 1>Effects>Helix Left/Mono Out>Amp FX Loop Return When the FX Loop Block is ON you're using the Yamaha Preamp. When it's OFF you're going straight to the Yamaha's FX Return.

AFAIK, MIDI over AES has not yet been implemented, and I don't know if it's going to be implemented down the road. Hopefully, in the next Powercab update.

What Silverhead said. Do a Factory Reset by re-booting while holding down buttons 9+10. If you did the backup during the install you can restore it after the reset.

You can't do a Factory reset through HX Edit. Did you do the update through HX Edit? If so, then do a Factory reset by re-booting the Helix while holding down buttons 9+10. If you did the backup during the update, you can restore it after the reset.

Somebody else cured her problems by unplugging USB and re-booting. Try that before reset.

If the settings are right and it still doesn't work, do a factory reset. If that doesn't work, time to open a support ticket.

Did you start by installing HX Edit 2.90 FIRST? If not, uninstall everything and start over by installing HX Edit 2.90 FIRST. Click "My Account" and sign in. Authorize your computer if necessary. Click the "Gear" icon. Click Check for Updates. Follow the directions.

I've updated a Stomp and a Floor without problems. Check your Global Settings. If that doesn't fix it: Do a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it, open a support ticket.

The update leaves your setlists in place. If there are any new presets you need to do a reset to get them.
