  1. There was a spreadsheet kind of thing someone made to document your Global settings. I can't seem to find it. Anyone know where it is?
  2. I seem to remember people recommending NOT backing up everything with a bundle but backing up by exporting every setlist. I also export every patch seperately as well. And exporting the IR's as well.

    Here's one more. https://theproaudiofiles.com/video/anatomy-of-guitar-tone-compressors-in-series-for-slide-guitar/

Here's an interesting article about chaining two specific compressors. http://www.uaudio.com/blog/chaining-1176ln-la2a-compressors/
  5. Yes. Click and hold on the line. It will highlite. Then you can change it.
  6. None. Wanted to have a minimum of setup.
  7. I'm going to guess that indicates what part of the interface the computer is "focused" on. But I don't know for sure.

    Tuner

I should have been more clear. I agree the tuner could be better. It is the worst tuner of all the multi FX unit tuners I've used (About 5). But I have no doubt Line 6 is aware of the unpopularity of it. So mentioning it is good. And now that it has been mentioned again...Next.

The tuner could be better. Less jumpy. But not everyone agrees. Next.......
  10. I'm sorry you are right. I'm tired and not at home. I will correct that in my post and add some bias info.
  11. Yes but it is subtle. The main one I use is Sag. turn it down for a looser feel. Turn it up for a more compressed tighter feel. Here's some Bias info. The Bias control affects the balance of distortion between saturation and cutoff in the power tubes. Proportion changes depending on the idling state of a power tube; if it's idling hot, then there will be more saturation and less cutoff, and if it's cold there will be more cutoff and less saturation. The bias control affects where the idling state of the tube is "located"; if it's hot or cold. Another way of putting it might be that we can virtually change the value of the cathode bias resistor in a cathode bias amp.
  12. Not to dismiss Glenn's protector. It looks great and has no bad reviews. An IPad screen protector, trimme to shape, works for me. Since you essentially cut it to fit, it works for the scribble strips as well. I actually use one as a pickguard for my JTV89F.
  13. I would suggest starting here... https://helixhelp.com/ ...and start by going through each amp one at a time. The amp descriptions often have settings guidelines. Each amp also has a youtube video or two (or three) so you can hear examples of the amps and they often have settings suggestions. The amp's manual is also often available here and they also very often have amp setup suggestions. Take it slow. I mean if you had all of these amps in a room, how much time would you expect to spend with each amp in order to get it's capabilities? I'm guessing at least a couple of hours. And let's not forget the additional time you'd spend trying different effects with each amp. It's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the choices but just take it one at a time. I mean if you had a room with all the Helix amps in it, you would probably start by playing only one amp at a time at first. Just think about how long that process alone would take. This will help you get a feel for the Helix's amps and what they're capabilities are. And it's not like you HAVE to experience EVERY amp right away. Grab a Marshall and spend a day with it alone, then play with some EQ's, and then with your favorite effects. Utilize all the suggestions here that apply in your exploration of each amp. This is one way to get a good foundation to start with.

    Old Man Happy

Go here. This is an excellent place to start. https://helixhelp.com/
  15. You can't delete, you can only replace. Find or create a "new patch" with nothing in it and then replace all of the patches with that patch.
  16. Did you accidentally turn off the XLR ouputs in the output section? Maybe assigning the ouputs to something else?
  17. Where the heck is that thing, by the way? Native that is. Yeah, I know, no need to respond to me.
  18. The Helix LT sounds better. If it's built as well as the "normal" Helix then the build is better. The POD 500X will get you where you need to be. The hard part is it just takes a lot more tweaking to get a good amp sound out of it. That does not appear to be a concern of yours. Many of the effects in the Helix will be better but $500 better? That's up to you. I believe the effects in the HD 500 are the same ones in the M9 so if you're looking to improve those, I'm pretty sure you'll just be getting the same thing. Can't speak to the Firehawk. Also, make sure the sweep echo is in the HD500X. It should be but I don't remember.
  19. It is true they are still honoring all warranties. There are still many stories about the plink not being fixed even after sending it in. I had an experience where I went through 3 JTV89f's before finally getting one that worked although I had to turn the 1st string all the way up in workbench for it to be equal with the other string's output.. And i was told that there was nothing wrong with any of them. Until I had a local Line 6 repair place witness and report what was happening. That's a long story that at least was resolved. I still think there is new Variax technology on the horizon. Very much just my opinion though. I have a Helix. That with the Variax is all I need. Even if there is a new and different Variax, I am VERY happy with where I'm at now after chasing Line 6's developments since the XT. Happily chasing them I might add.
  20. There are some FRFR guitar shaped cabs that I suspect would work best in getting you that feeling. Here's a discussion on that. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/why-isnt-there-an-frfr-system-that-looks-like-a-guitar-cab.1458273/ Found another one. It's a shootout between four FRFR's. https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/index.php/Thread/32454-My-FRFR-shootout/?pageNo=1

    Adding Blocks

Not at my Helix but I believe you go to Path 2's input and make the input Path 1 or you go to Path 1's output and make Path 2 it's output
  22. I've been a Line 6 boy since the Pod XT, did my share of tone chasing and I found what you say to be true. Blah used blah, I'd use that simulated equipment and it never sounded the same. And, like you stated, it was often a different amp and effects that got what I was looking for.....until Helix! I am amazed at how easy it is. Using Mr Walsh as an example, I just saw an interview where he was talking about just using a cranked tiny Fender amp for Funk 49. Pulled up a Les Paul on my Variax; Fender Champ on the Helix. Bam, almost there, did a little tweaking and I got that. Montrose was another sound I kept chasing. Then I read where they used a Bassman with a (I think, I'm not at my Helix) fuzz face. Sounds a little odd but OK. Bam, got they're sound. It doesn't always happen but it happens a lot more than with the older modeling. Pink Floyd was another one that worked. Strat, Hiwatt, Univibe, Delay. Sounds a lot like Breath to me.
  23. I haven't tried it but it sounds like a good idea. I will try it when I have time.
