POD Farm Platinum Amp list
fflbrgst replied to nickman001's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Of course just 'names' won't do you much good, as L6 can't use the actual manufacturer/model names in the names. I'd recommend you look at moving up to the Helix Native package, as PF2.5 is pretty old tech now - no updates for a long time, and I doubt it will be updated for new operating systems in the future.. -
Line 6 Spider IV 15 Redundant Phaser/Echo
fflbrgst replied to Muneeebk's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
So if you turn the FX2 (echo) knob up all the way, then back to 0 (counter clockwise), the echo/phase effect is still there? -
Couple of beginner questions on legacy spider amps
fflbrgst replied to bobmetelsky's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
The A, B, C, D buttons access saved sound configurations (patches) - these include tone, channel volume and FX settings. There are changes in the amp modeling/sounds from generation to generation of the amps - you have a 2nd generation 75 and a 4th generation 30. In addition, the speakers (sizes) differ in the two amps, so the sounds will indeed be different, although patch or model names may be the same. -
HD500 recordings have a lowered pitch
fflbrgst replied to kyle1001's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Check your settings, I have heard of this happening when someone is recording at 48KHZ and playing back at 44.1KHZ (or vice-versa). -
Line 6 Spider IV 15 Redundant Phaser/Echo
fflbrgst replied to Muneeebk's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
No change when you move the FX knob? Is this a new amp? If so, return it. -
Yeah, we love Line 6 user manuals. I am 99.999% sure it is TS. I've never seen a dedicated mic input that is TRS on any device except on small digital recorders.

Pod Farm Plug In suddenly not active
fflbrgst replied to shippo's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Not familiar with Cubase, but have you tried re-specifying the path to your Plug-ins file folder? Every once in a while I've had a similar problem with Reaper (other VSTs, not PF), and had to do that. -

Using Line 6 Monkey, it will tell you what is needed, and as long as you instruct it to go ahead with the most-recent update (it is several years old for the FBV MkII), it will take care of any/all updates needed.

UX2 bass frequency settings for Windows 10
fflbrgst replied to Qukla's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
First thing you have to realize is those 3" speakers cannot produce real bass response. I'm guessing their low end spec is around 90Hz. Using the Windows 'bass boost' probably just boosts the harmonics (higher frequencies) that those speakers can produce. Your UX2 is just an interface. Any EQing would be done in the software you are using (for example PodFarm). -
UX2 direct USB into Audacity: DI and Wet recording?
fflbrgst replied to RudyR's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
There are some 'limited edition' DAWs that offer free downloading, you'd have to search for them. They are put out in order to entice users to pay for the full versions, of course. Once you get familiar with the workflow of a particular DAW you are unlikely to switch to a different one. I prefer Reaper, which is free to download the full version. You have 30 days to try it out, after which you will get a reminder pop-up whenever you turn it on (but it does not cripple use). It's $60 to register it, a very reasonable price. -
UX2 direct USB into Audacity: DI and Wet recording?
fflbrgst replied to RudyR's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Does Audacity allow you to record two separate tracks at one time? I don't think it does. -
Native not working with Reaper after installing new interface
fflbrgst replied to soonerpenguin's topic in Helix Native
You definitely should not be using ASIO4ALL if there is a correct ASIO driver for your device. Latency can be addressed by adjusting your buffer settings. The fact that you could hear the dry guitar track when tracking indicates that you may have the 'direct monitor' switch on the Focusrite on - not sure this device allows mixing both direct monitor AND track monitoring (if so there may be a software mixer?) -
$199 for the 75 is what they're advertising - I got mine new for $255 (15% GC sale discount) and the Express MkII for $75 5 years ago.

Improved the tone on my Spider IV 15
fflbrgst replied to BowerR64's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
You don't have to plug a dummy plug into the guitar input on a IV-75 to get the CD/MP3 input to work. Note that you have to control volume from the device you are plugging in, the master volume does not work for this input. -
But the price drop is only until there are no more new ones for sale! I'm happy with my IV-75, but my only use these days is recording.
-
$100 off for PodFarm Platinum owners. That's still $299.00. For the little I use PF for now, can't see this is something I will go for. I prefer miking up an amp when recording electric guitar, and mostly use PF for DIed bass.
-
Yes, you can do that, but the OP was asking about hooking up a mic to the amp to then record via USB.
-
Sorry, but 'work arounds' are not anything but a temporary solution. I use Reaper exclusively, no reason that I should have to install a different DAW to fool Native into working. And if there are 'missing MS files', then L6 should have these (with prompts) ready during the installation process. I also haven't seen a solution to the problem of having to be connected online to get the registered version working. My recording computer is not online all the time - on purpose. This reminds me of the bugginess experienced to update the Spider IV/FBV where Monkey would not recognize the devices - this never got resolved.

Pod Farm, can't see input/output
fflbrgst replied to zochar's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
As a plug-in, PodFarm would not show input and output, those are selected in your Cubase track options. -
Note the head needs to have BOTH left and right outputs connected or the imbalance will eventually damage the head.

We knew it was coming when they released the V series, got an email announcing 'clearance' sale on Spider IV amps.
