  1. Bower - the Line 6 cabinet is 8 ohms per side if run in stereo (2 cables). It's only 4 ohms if you only plug into the left side (mono).
  2. 6-month-old thread, OP never returned.
  3. Double check the small connectors in the amp jack to make sure none are bent out of position. If all seems well, you'll need to start a Support Ticket here on Line6.com.
  4. Have you tried a different guitar cable? If that doesn't change anything, then there is some problem on the input side of the amp. Unfortunately, the Spider 15's are not field serviceable. If its still under warranty, you can bring it back to where you bought it or exchange.
  5. 'Economical' - probably not! You could plug the base unit of a wireless headphone set into the headphone output, these usually run $60 or more. You could also get a Bluetooth transmitter unit. One problem with wireless headphones I had (quite a few years ago) was latency - a slight delay in the signal. The sound was nowhere near as good (with a cheap set of wireless headphones) as a set of wired headphones costing the same amount. The least expensive wireless input systems for guitar are around $100 and not worth it - poor sound and drop-outs.
  6. So this hissing happens all the time now? Have you tried plugging your phone in again to the MP3 input?
  7. HI Adam, part of you problem could be using the free Audacity software - Audacity does not use ASIO drivers.
  8. Yes, both your digital piano and e-drums have stereo audio outputs, so you really need two inputs for each of those - so a total of 5 inputs. (Unless you are only going to connect the MIDI output of the e-drums). I think the best choice for you would be the Tascam US16c08: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/US16x08 It has 6 line inputs as well as a ton of mic preamps/inputs (which you don't need). A slightly cheaper alternate would be this Behringer interface: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FCA1616
  9. The FS buttons should map to certain FX on the Spider 4, the Wah/Volume pedal works, the tap tempo and tuner should work. The Shortboard would give you these same functions.
  10. Yes, it's compatible with the Spider 4, that doesn't mean it can do something that the Spider 4 is not set up to do. You should be able to use the FBV3 to scroll up and down through the banks (then you have to select which of the 4 amp presets you want in that bank) - that's all the Spider 4 amps allow.
  11. I'm not sure where you got the idea you could save presets for the Spider 4 in the FBV3. The Spider 4 amps don't work that way.
  12. Glad you got it to work. The best solution (allowing hooking up to any PA /amp), is to plug the instrument into a preamp with piezo input (like the Radial PZ-Pre).
  13. Definitely not normal. The lack of an FX loop was one of the big complaints about the Spider 4 amp. External FX with an external looper are really the best way to do it - I've never seen a guitarist using a modeler with a looper successfully.
  14. Only way is to use the DI/headphone output (which disables the speaker, of course), put your looper or other FX in that chain, and send it to another amp.
  15. You don't delete them, you just save new tones over the existing ones, which replaces them.
  16. One thing I'll tell you - the L6 cabinet is not the best choice for that amp. The L6 speakers are really made for a modeling amp (where the tone comes from the amp/preamp) so that the speakers produce an accurate sound from the source. I think you are mis-reading the amp manual. The 8 ohm outputs are 8 ohm and don't combine in series to 16 ohm when using both of them.
  17. You can use a compressor setting to extend note time (it essentially just keeps raising the volume). But 'feedback' comes from the interplay of the sound coming out of an amp's speaker being picked up by the guitar's pickups and also vibrating the strings. Electronically-only, that just doesn't work. That's why I've gone back to recording 95% of my electric guitar playing through my Spider amp rather than PodFarm, as I used to do. Reamping is playing the recorded signal back out through an amp and re-recording that, but it won't give you a real 'feedback' sound as the guitar is no longer involved. If you mean running the LIVE sound out from PodFarm through an amp, you could try it, but your latency would need to be very low.
  18. This may be a problem from the recent Windows 10 update that happened last week. After it happened, I could not connect to anything with Chrome or Firefox browsers, only MS Edge browser. There was a setting in Edge that had to be reset (sorry, I don't remember what it was - google it) to allow the other browsers to work again.
  19. First you should try just with the FBV connected (don't have the amp connected to the FBV). Make sure your firewalls/anti-virus software is turned off. Try a different USB cable.
  20. Yes, you can transfer your presets/settings via Spider Edit, but you will need to adjust the sounds from there on the head, as they will not sound identical through a different set of speakers at a different volume. You will need to search stores (online inventory) for a new head in stock somewhere - the clearance was 6 months ago.
  21. A Spider 3 is a fairly old amp, there is probably something in one of the circuit boards that needs replacing. For the Spider 5 (second post), this should be under warranty.
  22. What amp are you trying this with? Check the pins in the amp's and pedal's CAT5 jack to make sure that one isn't bent out of place. The fact that it worked then didn't means something changed. Did you hook up the pedal to your computer (via USB) to update the firmware?
  23. Do you have the UX1 selected in the Windows Sound Device dialog as input and audio output device? Assume you have headphones/speakers plugged into the UX1.
