  1. Try another Cat5 cable first - check the connector pins in the FBV and amp, too - they're easy to get bent out of shape. Next troubleshoot would be to hook it up to your computer with a USB cable and try to reflash the firmware.
  2. Nice woodwork! I see you've got 2 speakers there did you match the impedance to the original single speaker so you are not pushing the amp past its limits? A lack of power (overall) could be something simple like a fuse or component in the power supply circuit, or the power supply itself.
  3. Note: not changing 'banks' (which is only done at the amp when using an Express pedal), but changing patches. I would suspect its something in the difference between the two patch settings, most likely gain or distortion FX.
  4. Ok, that takes care of the volume issue then, right? It just means you cannot use a Wah setting in your patches, in effect disabling the pedal.
  5. Does it do this no matter what sound settings you have? (I.e. pre-set patches, manual settings) Could be a defective compressor setting
  6. ^^^ Correct. With the Spider IV, the Mk II controllers only provide USB connection for firmware updates and for using the tone editing/saving features.
  7. When you step on the pedal (toe down) it doesn't switch over to Wah?
  8. No, there is no visible mechanical toeswitch, it's internal, optical, I believe.
  9. You don't need to extract the audio from a video stream to send the audio to your amp, just set the amp as your audio device in the Win settings, play the video/stream.
  10. The instructions are on this page: However, it looks like there's a font issue, at least with the computer I'm on now. FBV Express Mk. II: 1) Hold D while powering on the FBV. Upon release, the pedal display will read “1â€. 2) Press and hold the pedal toeswitch until the 7 segment display changes to “2â€. This should occur instantly. 3) Set the heel to the heel (minimum) position, press the D button. The 7 segment display will change to “3â€. 4) Set the toe position (maximum) and press the D button. The tuner LEDs above the 7 segment display will light. 5) Move the pedal and verify that the tuner LEDs sequentially turn off as the pedal moves to the minimum position, and refills when moved to the maximum position. 6) Press D to exit
  11. The Spider needs to be selected as the audio input device in Cubase.
  12. Ok, since it happens with both Reaper and Audacity, it must be the UX1 settings - have you checked it's settings? If everything looks correct, uninstall the UX1, delete the files from the 'Line 6' folder, then re-download and install the drivers.
  13. I'm not familiar with Cubase, but the settings should be in it to use the amp (USB) as the input device, and the computer's soundcard as the audio output device. If not, then the amp needs to be selected as both input and output device and headphones plugged into the amp.
  14. 'Ethernet cable" - assume you mean the CAT5 cable connecting the pedal to the amp. Check the pins on the jacks of both the pedal and the amp - these are easy to get bent out of place. Since the Shortboard is used, I would be looking at that as the most-likely problem. If someone plugged the Shortboard directly into a computer/ethernet port it could have damaged some components, yet this would not show up when connecting the Shortboard via USB to a computer.
  15. No, it doesn't affect the master volume - it is an 'extra' rheostat in line. If your master volume is set to '2', then depressing the FBV volume pedal all the way down will only get the volume up to that '2' setting.
  16. That's correct. The Aux In signal is not affected by any of the amp controls, the only way to adjust the sound (including volume) is with your playback device.
  17. What do you mean 'get me off to the amplifiers'? PodFarm is a software package you would need to install on your computer, if that's what you are referring to.
  18. Sounds like you have the bit-rate setting wrong. There is 44.1 and 48 - check your Reaper settings.
  19. Select your hardware, software and operating system, click on 'go': https://line6.com/software/
  20. Sorry to tell you that the FBV3 cannot be used as in interface to a computer with this amp. It's spelled out on the product page: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv3 You need a FBV Express MkII or Shortboard MkII for that.
  21. 'Deep and choppy' - this would seem to be from a different sample rate in the other software you are opening.
  22. Yes, saving a tone overwrites what is in that User Patch. With the Spider IV 15 & 30 you have 4 patch positions to save tones. With higher models, you have banks, each with 4 patch locations. The patches that are in those places from the factory are the same as patches in the song/artist banks. You can restore all user patches to the original factory settings my doing a factory reset - holding the A button in while turning on the power to the amp.
  23. The Line6 people say 'no' to the Cat6 cable, although a user reported here that he was able to use one.
