  1. I was under the impression that 15s are not field serviceable? Used amps sell for $70 or less - it costs more for a tech to look at something!
  2. Yes, you want the Shortboard MkII. Used ones available at reverb: https://reverb.com/marketplace?query=line%206%20shortboard BTW, the amp's looper is not much good for things. Short recording time and when you change your amp's patch, it changes the loop's sound, too, so you can't lay down a rhythm track with one sound, then switch patches to play a lead over it.
  3. The Express can only select the 4 patches in a preset bank (that you have selected on the amp), plus the wah/volume pedal.
  4. No, the free upgrade to PF2 did not include the plug-in ability, but you can go to the License Manager here on line6.com and check.
  5. Sounds to me like you do not have the USB output set to output your selected Helix sound - you should post in the Helix section of this forum.
  6. FBV Control is for controlling a MIDI device with the FBV pedal. Have you connected the FBV to the amp using a CAT5 cable between the pedal and the FBV pedal jack on the back of the amp?
  7. I'm not sure you can do that with the Valve amp, you could with the Spider IV amps, the software is called 'Spider Edit'. I see it in the Downloads section of this website for Spider IV use, not for Spider Valve, though.
  8. There are no presets in the Shortboard - it is a controller. The preset patches are in your amp, that's where you need to access, change and save them.
  9. V=iR - V= voltage, i= current, R= resistance. Assuming the amp's output is a steady current, you are doubling the voltage seen in the amp's output section. Also, by boosting the input, you could overdrive the input section of the preamp.. Either one will not be good. But you posted this a year ago, how's it been working for you?
  10. The Pod Go will work fine for recording guitar, but to record drums, you will need an audio interface with as many mic preamps as you want for miking the drum kit. If you are going to use Edrums, then they typically have a USB output that can be used to record the MIDI signals, but not the actual audio, which would have to be fed to an audio interface. For vocals, harmonica, anything acoustic, you will need an audio interface. For DAW (recording software), Cubase is free. Reaper is free to try out the full version, $60 to register. For recording, you are also going to need headphones and monitors (speakers).
  11. Holding the Clean button in while starting the amp reverts things to the Factory Settings, the FX are part of that. You need to go into the FX menu, turn them off, then save the new patch, 'writing over' the factory one.
  12. Ok, then in GB, you should be able to choose one input for one track, and the other for a 2nd track.
  13. You posted this in the spider 4 section of the forum, you might try reposting in the spider 5 section.
  14. How are you getting the sound into your computer? You will need a device with 2 separate inputs, then in GB select one input for 1 track , and the other input for the 2nd track.
  15. What DAW are you using? You should be able to select the UX1 as the input device in the DAW (or Podfarm, if you are using that).
  16. The wrong pitch issue is the sample rate - one of your settings is 44.1, the other is 48. (this happens to many people)
  17. The line out is not amplified. There is probably less than half a watt there, enough to drive headphones. You would need to run the output to an amp first, then a speaker cabinet.
  18. No, the OP said the Express, not the Shortboard. The problem the OP had was with the Spider V. Not the Spiderjam.
  19. There is no 'tweeter' on a Spider IV 75, it is a full-frequency speaker. Guessing what you are hearing is the usual digital fizziness. EQ will help - the treble knob, and an EQ pedal in your chain might help some.
  20. What are you using for a soundcard/interface? If it is the built-in computer soundcard, check it's settings for playback.
  21. Polyphony is not the issue, it is that the pitch interval is fixed. So if you have it set for a major third (4 half-steps), and play the arpeggiated notes of an A major chord (A, C#, E), you will get C#, F, G# - which is a C# major chord, but not in the key of A, obviously. Ideally, you would want the 2nd note to be an E (3 half steps) and the 3rd note to be an A (5 half steps) so that it all sounds as the same chord (A major).
  22. Does this happen no matter how you have the pickups selected? I wonder if it is only when both are connected, and you have one wired backwards (a phase issue).
  23. I never use the stand-alone PF. I recently got a new computer for recording, and installed PF on it, and of course none of my presets from the old computer came over - is there an easy way to do so? I still have access to the old computer's files.
  24. Your preset patches are stored in your amp. Whichever bank of patches you have called up on your amp are the 4 (A,B,C,D) accessible using the FBV. FBV Control is used for controlling other MIDI devices or software.
  25. Original posts were from 2013 and 2014, I'm sure those users have the issues solved by now!
