  1. You should be using the UX2 as your output device - headphones or speakers plugged into it. If you plug into your computer's headphone or speaker outputs, then you are using the computer's soundcard and it's settings, which should (but may not) be controlled by the Windows settings. Not sure what Discord is, but apps like Google hangouts aren't really made for music, so don't have sample rate settings - the rates would be dictated by your Windows settings. Audacity is an easy-to-use audio editor, but not much of a DAW (multitrack recorder). It does not use/allow use of ASIO drivers, which is what comes with the UX2 and virtually all audio interface devices. I imagine its the same for Discord and Hangouts - they don't allow ASIO driver use. If you are using the UX2 for music recording, I'd suggest you move to a better app than Audacity. Cubase now offers a free version. Other software places offer 'limited access' DAWs for free so you can try them out. I use Reaper, which is free to download the full uncrippled version, $60 to register it.
  2. Nope, you found the solution, and didn't realize it. Most likely the default sample rate was set at 48k for the device, thats why it would 'revert' when you re-opened the window. When you changed your output sample rate (to the same as input) - others heard your sound correctly, right? This all has to do with your set rates, not whatever the other person is using. "changing the sample rate of the UX2 output device fixed the issue even when I wasn't using it as my output device." - THAT doesn't make sense, most likely you were changing the sample rate IN the software. How were you monitoring? - what were your speakers or headphones connected to?
  3. The sample rate for the output device needs to match the sample rate that was recorded, or you will have a pitch change!
  4. Yeah, I doubt Win 7 (or older) drivers would allow it to work in Win 10. As to your amp issues, a factory reset MIGHT work, but there may also be a failed board component. Whichever foot controller you have - have you tried a new Cat5 cable first? Those are usually the first things to fail, as they are stiff and easy for the connectors to bend out of shape.
  5. The best acoustic guitar sound is going to come from miking the guitar, not plugging it in. But if you can get the sound you want with a preset, then record that. Doesn't 'bypass' mute the output??
  6. So no changes if you adjust the channel or master volume controls?
  7. Have you done a factory reset? Possible that something in your channel or master volumes has got zeroed?
  8. You should ask the question in the POD section of the forums. The Shortboard is just a controller, no sounds are housed in it.
  9. Generally, the distortion/fuzz sound of the Spider IV is described as 'fizzy' when cranked to the level that is popular for metal. If you use outboard stompboxes and keep the amp's sopund cleaner, it can work.
  10. Well, you may have figured it out by finally deleting all the Line 6 files, not just uninstalling the drivers (which leaves the files on your computer). Now you should try downloading the latest drivers and installing them. It may just been a glitch in the files. This was a frequent issue back in the WIn 7 days, and deleting the files and starting again was the solution that seemed to work most often.
  11. I assume you are plugging directly into the computer's line input. You should be using an audio interface that allows direct monitoring.
  12. One thing you need to look at is how many mic pre-amps you require. The Behr UMC1820 has 8, that Kmix looks like it only has 2.
  13. The presets are not in the Shortboard, they are in your amp. Call up the preset you want, then save it to the user preset place where you want it.
  14. Are you recording live bands, hence the need for 12 tracks of simultaneous input? Your Behringer mixer is only giving you a stereo USB output. Why 'motorized' faders, if you are using a DAW?
  15. When you use presets, ALL the settings are based on the saved settings, except the master volume. When you touch/move any knob, you change that particular setting to wherever the knob is moved to.
  16. Disable 'sleep mode'. This messes up settings. Restarting/replugging-in USB devices is almost always needed when the computer goes to sleep due to the USB circuit going to sleep too. There's really no good reason to use 'sleep mode'. Shut down the computer if you are done for the night, or just leave it on. Sleep mode was developed to prevent 'burn in' problems with old CRT monitors.
  17. If you have the UR22 selected as the input and output device in Windows, that's where the Podfarm output is. In whatever DAW you want to use, you can select Podfarm or the UR22 as the audio input.
  18. Yup, the amp is toast, although if you have the skills, you could open it up to inspect for easy-to-spot issues. At that age, the amp has done well to last so long.
  19. Yes, what Phil said. Spider IVs are getting pretty old now. BTW, the downloadable tone patches? Nothing you can't do yourself using either the amp's controls or Spider Edit. You just have to know 'where to start' .
  20. Sorry, no you can't. The FBV's USB connection is only for updating software in the FBV and amp and for using Spider Edit. No audio signal is transmitted from the amp to the FBV or the FBV to the computer.
  21. Is it possible the Cat 5 cable or the connectors on it have been bent or damaged? The first thing I would do is check with another CAT5 cable. Assume you have had this for a while or bought it used, the cables are unfortunately very fragile.
  22. Sorry, but the FBV Express MkII does not do that. It connects to the computer only to communicate computer information (updates, or Spider Edit to adjust your patches). To play computer audio though your amp, you will need to hook up patch cables from your computer's audio-out jacks to the 'MP3' input on the amp.
  23. Ok, so if you want a dry signal file, too, just turn off the PodFarm plug-in and render the track to another WAV file.
  24. Which FBV pedal? Is it currently in Wah mode? If so, you need to step (hard) on the toe of the pedal to switch to Volume mode.
  25. Well, if you are using the PodFarm plug-in, you ARE recording the dry signal. The plug-in can be turned on or off, then I assume you are rendering/converting the track to WAV or MP3?
