  1. updater finally loaded and blank screen will no device to update
  2. Trying updater now. Booted in Safe Mode and updater just "bounces" in the tray. (macbook, I may need to go to my windows machine)
  3. Totally bricked Helix floor trying to update to 3.0. Can not boot in safe mode. Any suggestions in booting to get recognized by edit to retry?
  4. I would have to say the speaker proximity and resonate frequency, etc. likely a pa speaker (FRFR) does not have the same resonant peak of a guitar speaker with a tube amp and transformer..... you get the picture. I resorted to a Digitech Freqout. https://digitech.com/en/products/freqout
  5. Use 1024 ir. That will give you some more space.
  6. You can have 2 delays in a row (copy and paste), one set in ms and the other set in Dotted 8th then have the snapshots turn one off and the other on. Assuming you have the room and DSP. But i like Mturner's solution above.
  7. Im not sure of the size of the cutout, but likely a standard size. Here is an example of what you can find. edit: this is an example only, I do not know if this switch actually fits Helix. https://www.zoro.com/carling-technologies-rocker-switch-spst-2-connections-ra911-vb-b-1-v/i/G3103694/
  8. Its not just a Helix issue. Whenever you connect two amps from a split of some sort, like stereo, or Wet - Dry etc, you will likely have hum issues. Its the grounding and must be lifted somewhere. The advice given by other posters above will/should work. If you had the amps hooked up before Helix without noise, you got lucky. Some amps leak voltage to ground, in fact its hard not to when there are 400+ volts in there. Remember NEVER lift the ground of the Amp power plug!!! Transformer isolation seems to work well. Experiment with where to isolate and see what works for you.
  9. Food for thought.... For size, weight, and ease of packing vehicle, I use a separate smaller board to the left (or the to right if you prefer) of my Helix. Its a few cables and done. Then can surround myself with the boards. Makes it easier when playing and singing to have access closer. I have a tuner, Drop, Freqout, expression, mini Wah (because there is room and I can wah no matter if programmed or not). I thought of a single board, but size and weight add up fast.
  10. Have you tried to isolate the Helix ground. as only a test, find a 2 to 3 prong plug. Isolate helix, never use this on the tube amp chord!! Still noise? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Axis-Grounded-AC-Plug-Adapter-2-pack/21054194?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1131&adid=22222222227015565217&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40880551952&wl4=pla-78808727072&wl5=9014416&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112562428&wl11=online&wl12=21054194&wl13=&veh=sem
  11. What they above said...... What is your experience with pedals and amps? Treat it like analog pedals, amp, and cab. Start building from an empty preset and you will learn quickly. Then come back here and FB page to ask specific questions. https://facebook.com/groups/428105950706417?ref=bookmarks
  12. Not sure. I know you can change from cab to no cab on amps while preserving settings but stereo to mono I feel may not work. Here is the amp way edited for effets.... It has to be done in the editor. 1. copy and past preset in New location. 2. Click on the effect you want to convert selecting it in the effects chain 3. Under effects chain find the same effect mono version and double click. I haven't tried it for effects.
  13. Build a second set list that is the same using all mono effects. Stereo reverbs seem to do ok in mono (at least the pre 2.5 ones.) I had to rebuild all mine for mono.
  14. That's the "danger" of using a stereo setup then going mono. Stereo separates the timing and phasing etc depending on the effect your using, so when collapsed to mono, you experience phase issues. Because you panned left, you loose 3db of the center sounds and also the right channel stereo effects, therefore; lose of volume and no phase issues.
  15. The globals do not change unless you do a 9-10 reset (floor). The reset used to be required after an update. I think the reset is still required if there are any new factory presets. But then be careful on the restore because you will overwrite the new factory presets with the old if you check all the boxes.
  16. Since 1.0 But finding that 20 dollar bill in last year's coat does feel good. :)
  17. Maybe, I say this because the 1/4 outs on Helix are not balanced.
  18. Good choice. I haven't used that one yet, but we have a few of these (below) and they work well, though i have to admit, I do not use 4 cable. I like my 8 1/2 minute set up of guitar and vocal. ;) One thing I do like about the one below is its many I/O formats, and it converts between all of them. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DTI
  19. Ground loop(s). It seems tube amps bleed to their ground. Hard not to with 400+ volts running around inside. Experiment with Transformer isolating some of the connections, but not the guitar to Helix. Example is players running stereo tube amp rigs often need to isolate one of the connections (amps).
  20. Transformer Isolate one, or both of the loop cables. (not the guitar to Helix and not Helix to Amp input) Edit: Maybe amp input cable may work too. Since its low impedance grounded signal coming from Helix.
  21. 1. If you plug in only left output jack (XLR or 1/4) the signal is combined. 2. I believe i read an answer to this over a year ago, IIR, the outputs are treated separately. Stereo XLR while combined mono 1/4.
  22. Those tones in the Videos are great. I purchased a Zoom G3xn as a backup to the helix, the deals was so good i couldn't pass it up. I would love to get those presets you used for the Zoom, then I can try to replicate them on my helix. Maybe some other forum users with Zoom can do the same and hopefully one of us can come up with something. Edit: The reason to share the Zoom preset is it's difficult to replicate a video tone, different setups, etc. We may get it close, then on your setup it's sure to sound different.
  23. all of the above plus..... Make your presets at high (gig) volume and with speakers (FRFR, PA, etc) off the floor on poles. My first mistake was using FRFR (PA) speakers in the wedge position on the floor. I ended up with thin shrill tone when going through PA with band.
  24. willjrock is saying it would be nice to be able to copy multiple blocks, refining the idea of copying a full path. I think.
