  1. In the Scarlett set the helix to the master clock.
  2. DON'T USE EXTERNAL SPEAKER "INPUT". It's most likely an output and at high power. Could fry the Helix. All caps for emphasis. Just don't want anything bad to happen.
  3. E I assume for "Edited"? Just a guess.
  4. Every time you press any footswitch on a preset, move expression pedal, etc, something has changed. Helix is telling you if you want to recall in "this" state you need to save. Once you have your preset saved the way you want it to open, ignore the E...
  5. Does using a single outlet cause hum? I find tube amps, with their high internal voltages tend to leak a little voltage to ground. If the HumX works, then go for it. Also braking the loop with transformer isolators on the 2 lines in the loop of the amp may help.
  6. Excellect reply! I'll have to check it out when I have time.
  7. Maybe through Ground? Since the 1/4 jacks in the helix are TS.
  8. Since ir's can be very customized, we need to know the other effects in the chain. Amp, overdrive, etc. Does this replace the speaker cab or use along with a cab. Check out some of Glenn DeLaune's presets. He uses his own custom ir's along with cabs.
  9. Global mode. Path 2 as a Global chain. Allow spill between presets and make changes to delays and reverbs global. Good for live. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea-v2/898974
  10. Well if it is true and the Transistor Tape does model the Echoplex pre-amp as does the EP, then it should be a no-brainer for Line 6 to create a separate drive pedal.
  11. Very interesting. Put two small pa speakers left and right and have a Wet Dry Wet setup.
  12. OOOOHHH I see. Snaps to takeover some of it and the footswitches to do less..... I think a controller list page would be very useful....
  13. You could have just selected an unsaved snap, go to footswitch mode, select the footswitches then save. And so on.... I had the same issue going from pre-snap to snap mode.
  14. I read a bit back on this forum a method to clear assignments. I wish I could find the original for credit. Select the amp block you want to erase the assignment. Now press and hold "bypass" then quickly press the knob below the parameter you want to clear. The brackets "[ ]" should go away.
  15. Do you plan on using the near future Helix Native vst software? $99 for Full Helix owners. $299 for Helix LT owners. Factor that difference into your costs if you plan on using it.
  16. You say you mic up your current amp in the room. Is your amp on stage with rest of the band and you hearing it directly? With the Helix setup, that is all gone. It will be a shocker for everyone, including you, unless you have an FRFR (monitor) to fill in the lost sound.
  17. Also, Bit depth on Vintage digital or any of the delays with that parameter.

On Helix edit, left Column click on "Impulses". Drag your impulses into the slots as wanted. When you place an impulse block, the first parameter allows you to select the impulse you want to use. It defaults to 1 I think but you may have had a blank impulse selected? Not at Helix to verify
  19. Yes. Sometimes new users put assign an input there. But there are times to use parallel processing, just not a normal - all effects in series - thing to do.
  20. Short story.... make sure path 2 has a big X in the circle, even if using path 1 to 2 at the end of path 1
  21. Bit depth on Vintage digital or any of the delays with that parameter.
  22. I would say yes to powering via the a.c. out on the John. Just verify the max output of the John's a.c. outlet and the draw of the Helix
  23. Your saying the main 1/4 out is also 4.1 lower? Maybe due to L/R split? Im thinking a Send block is also splitting the signal between "Send" and "Dry Thru", so you're getting 1/2 of the signal. Should be a 3db loss but for others reasons? 4.1 sounds reasonable. Edit: Personally, I would adjust it at the Send Block or 1/4 output, and not use an actual gain block.
