  1. I turned off the tone matching about 3 days after getting the amp. And I agree, some EQ for the amp when just streaming music would be nice. I'm sure they were expecting that users would just use the EQ in their mobile devices instead. But, demoing in a store and using it in real life are two different things. I have a small Marley bluetooth speaker that absolutely kills my 75 as far as bass and treble response. And it's only a $200 speaker. It has far better stereo separation as well. Just to be clear though, the Amplifi as a bluetooth speaker is still good, it's just not great. These amps are $599 here now, and for that I would expect a little more. I'm glad when I bought mine it was only $430 at the time.
  2. Are you sure you upgraded your firmware to the latest version? The APP is version 2.5, but the presets are not part of the app. They are part of the amp's firmware, the latest of which is version 2.10. It also takes about 1 minute for all of the presets to be shown in the amp when you first launch it as it has to download the list to the app.
  3. There are some things to keep in mind if you're going to spend the money on an Amplifi amp... For one, it doesn't always take analog pedals very well. Distortion and fuzz pedals break up easily (and not in the good way) and getting levels right is a pain. Mixing analog pedals with the digital pedals of the amp also doesn't always work that well. It does take digital pedals very well though (such as the Zoom G5). Secondly, even though the advertising implies it, you can't magically get a matching tone for every song you want. In fact, aside from some of the official presets and the rare user tone, there are very few tones that match actual songs. And even with those tones, it all depends on the gear you're using yourself. If you don't have the exact same guitar, pickups, etc as the person who made the tone, it won't sound the same. The cloud tone matching system is very poor and most of the suggested tones are horrible. Auto-tone loading is also a pain because the tones is chooses are usually horrible as well. Next, as a bluetooth speaker, it's not that great. Even after several hours breaking in the speaker, the bass and treble response is poor and cannot be adjusted. Bluetooth streaming, even without using the app, is inconsistent at best if there are other things in the area that interfere with it. The Amplifi amps have a lot of potential, but they aren't there yet. It's a shame too, because it really could be a great amp. **Edit** I also want to add, that some of the problems people are experiencing seem to be pretty hit and miss depending on the individual amp. I've had my 75 for over a year now and rarely experienced any disconnect problems and bluetooth problems. But, I was having a problem with the speaker and took it into the shop where I bought it to have it sent out for repair. Since I bought their 2 year warranty on the amp, I got a replacement 75 to use as a "rental" until my amp is sent back. This replacement amp has been horrible. I've upgraded the firmware and done a half dozen factory resets. But it disconnects all the time and the bluetooth is choppy all the time.
  4. Yes, the Up/Down buttons allow you to cycle through the presets. Up/Down changes the banks, and then A/B/C/D selects the corresponding preset in each bank. The presets are stored in the amp, so you don't need to be paired with a device or have the app running.
  5. Yeah, I updated the firmware. It was the first thing I did when I got it. I've already talked to the manager at the store. He says the Amplifi amps get returned more than any other amp they sell. When my amp gets sent back from Yorkville (the distributer here for Line 6 and many other products) they're going to let me exchange it for store credit so I can get something different.
  6. It looks like it might be pretty hit and miss with each individual amp. My Amplifi 75 was having problems with the speaker so I took it in to where I bought it yesterday to have it looked at (I bought their 2 year warranty). They gave me another Amplifi 75 as a free "rental" until my amp is fixed, and this replacement one disconnects all the time. Nothing in my house has changed at all, and my Amplifi 75 didn't have any disconnect problems. But this replacement one is driving me nuts.
  7. Have you considered that the problems might be on your end (your playing environment, etc), and not the fault of the app. Or perhaps you have a faulty amp? #1 - I've been using my Amplifi 75 for over a year now, and I don't have any disconnect problems. Try turning off your keyboard sounds on your iPad. The amp clearly has problems processing some of the system sounds for iOS. I actually turn on do not disturb on my iPad when I play so that I don't get bothered by alerts and notifications anyway. Check that you don't have other things causing interference. Any wireless device can cause interference. This includes wireless routers/receivers, wireless/bluetooth keyboards and mice, cordless phones, microwaves, baby monitors, and anything that works on the 2.4ghz frequency (which is a lot). #2 - Yes, the tuner seems to be screwed up. It's not holding the display of the notes long enough to read. #3 - No the app actually loads and connects quicker than before. #4 - Turn your brightness up. The bottom bar is easy to read. #5 - Nothing hangs for me. Again, perhaps your amp is faulty or your iPad is too old. #6 - I've never had a tone auto load with the setting off. It was the first setting I turned off when I first got the amp. It's never been a problem for me. #7 - My tone light is still on. The only light that firmware 2.10 allows you to turn off is the Tap Tempo light.
  8. Try forgetting the connection, and repairing. You can also try doing a full reset of your iPad (hold the home button and power button together for 10 seconds, or until it reboots).
  9. The update has been out for 2 days now. Maybe instead of making empty threats you should pay more attention.
  10. Have you considered that it might be the environment that you're playing in, and not the amp? Any wireless technology, or anything that operates on the 2.4ghz frequency can cause interference. That includes wireless routers, wireless receivers (such as a laptop/computer/tv and cellphones), wireless and bluetooth keyboards and mice, cordless phones, microwaves, baby monitors, garage door openers, and a countless amount of other things.
  11. Well publicized release date? The final release date was just issued 2 weeks ago. And even Apple is having problems sorting things out. Watch OS2 has been delayed because they couldn't fix a bug in time for the release. Even iOS 9 (just like any other release before it) isn't fully polished. There are lots of apps that don't work on iOS 9 yet, and lots of bugs in the os. For all we know, the initial bluetooth connection problem could have been fixed long ago. Maybe they also ran into problems with multitasking and PiP in iOS 9. It's been suggested in another thread that Line 6 is also working on a firmware upgrade for the Amplifi series. Maybe they ran into problems with that. Or maybe they're trying to implement some of the new features of bluetooth 4.2. My point is, the situation is likely not nearly as cut-and-dry as you're suggesting. Since nobody except Line 6 knows what's going on, it's pointless to speculate on how easy anything is to fix. For what it's worth, I just want to add that I'm not a Line 6 fanboy. I think they have horrible customer service and support. If an update for the app isn't released by the 24th (when new iOS 9 devices ship) than I'm going to be just as pissed off as you and everybody else. I'm just not there yet because I was never expecting an update yesterday. I pretty much expected them to be 1-2 weeks behind.
  12. So what's the issue they're having exactly? And how do they fix it? I would love to hear the thoughts of a software engineer on how to easily fix the problem with the app. Maybe you could submit your thoughts to Line 6 customer support to help them out.
  13. Okay... 1. The final iOS 9 beta was just released to developers 2 weeks ago. 2. The Amplifi App isn't the only app that doesn't work on iOS 9. Updates are being released, and will be released, for apps every day. 3. How do you know how complex the issue is? You don't even know what the issue is or what problems they ran into trying to address it. For all we know, the bluetooth connection issue(s) has been addressed but maybe they ran into other problems such as multitasking and PiP on iOS 9. 4. If you expected Line 6 to be ahead of the game, then you don't know Line 6 very well. Subpar customer service is pretty much the norm for them. Temper your expectations and have some patience. Line 6 has never had the best customer service, and never will. You chose to install the iOS 9 beta, and Line 6 released a recommendation before the final version was released telling customers not to upgrade. They've wiped their hands of it, and all we can do now is wait for an update. If an update isn't released by Sept. 24th, that's when I'll get annoyed. And for what it's worth, the Amplifi series of amps were never designed or meant to be used for live gigging. It's a home practice amp.
  14. You can't forget about something that hasn't happened yet. No new devices will ship with iOS 9 before Sept. 25th. There's more than a good chance that an update for Amplifi Remote will be released before then.
  15. Have some patience. An update will be released as soon as they've got it done and it's been approved by Apple. Nobody forced you to install iOS 9 beta, or to do a final upgrade today. You made that choice yourself.
  16. On the My Tones screen, hit "Edit" in the top right corner and then delete the tones you don't want by pressing the "-" in the red circle to the left of each tone, which will bring up a "delete" button.
  17. I think you might be on to something here. I wonder if there's a way to submit this to Line 6 to have it sorted out... Maybe it could also be stickied on the main page or added into the FAQ/troubleshooting section. I don't have very many connection problems with my 75, but obviously lots of other people do. The main source of disconnects for me was being caused by my tv's wifi, which was sorted out as soon as I disabled it. However, I remember when I first got the amp that I was having tons of disconnect problems. I came pretty close to packing the 75 back up in the box and returning it. But then "all of a sudden" most of the disconnect problems vanished. I read this post of yours today and thought to myself that I remembered turning off the keyboard sounds because the amp would make a loud static/pop noise every time the keyboard would pop up and it was really jarring and annoying. At first I was just turning down the volume any time I needed to type something but that was inconvenient so instead I just turned off the keyboard sounds. I turned the keyboard sounds back on today and wouldn't you know it, I instantly got a disconnect when I went to save a tone. I closed the app, started it again, and got another disconnect. Turned the keyboard sounds back off, no more disconnects. So I think you've found a bug in the software. Not sure if it's on Line 6's end (the Amplifi app) or Apple end (iOS related), but hopefully it can be fixed.
  18. I asked the same thing in February (7 months ago now) and nobody here seems to know. I also submitted a support ticket to ask Line 6 officially and was told that it wasn't a valid support question and never received any other answer. You would think it would be a fairly simple feature. Instead, adjusting the volumes is just part of my routine with my Amplifi 75. It's the first thing I do when I turn it on.
  19. You press the UP and DOWN buttons on the left side to cycle through each bank, and press A/B/C/D to select the corresponding patch stored in each slot.
  20. Yes, you need the Shortboard MKII in order to cycle through the banks and presets. It has nothing to do with firmware though. It's a limitation of the FBV Express.
  21. Yes, you are correct. You need the Shortboard MKII. With it you can cycle through the 100 presets stored in the amp. You cannot cycle through the patches stored in "My Tones". In order to access those, you have to save them to the amp and overwrite one of the presets. You can also enable/disable effects (via the Stomp, Mod, Delay, and Reverb buttons), as well as the compressor (via the "Function 1" button).
  22. The interface for the FX100 must be different. For the Amplifi 75/150, you can rate each patch on the tone search results page or from the information page for each individual patch. You can't do a half-star rating though. Patches can be rated from 1-5 stars. I find the ratings pretty much useless though. Each patch is going to sound different depending on what guitar you use with it. Unless you're using the exact same guitar set up as the person who created the patch, it won't sound as they intended it. So rating a tone as 1 star because the author used a Gibson SG in the bridge position, and a user has a Strat with single coil pups, isn't fair to the author or the tone.
  23. The Delay switch will never activate the reverb. The reverb function can't be assigned to any other slot or button. If you look at the app you can tell which button is controlling which effect, by the symbol in the bottom right corner of each effect ("S" for Stomp, "D" for Delay, "M" for Modulation). You can change the button assigned to each effect by changing the order of the effects in the chain (by dragging them around), or by manually selecting the corresponding effect for that slot (So for the effect marked with the "D", change it to a Delay effect manually). Keep in mind though, changing the order of effects in the chain will have an affect on the sound of the tone. For instance, putting a chorus effect in front of a stomp effect will sound different than putting the stomp effect before the chorus effect. Same with effects placed before and after the amp. The amp comes with 100 presets already stored in the amp (banks 1-24) which are all designed to emulate a certain tone. Changing the order of the effects in those presets will change the way they sound and they will no longer sound as intended. Just worth keeping in mind.
  24. The Shortboard MKII simply acts as an interface to interact with the amp. Meaning it can only toggle things on/off, and cycle through presets and patches. All of the editing of presets is done through the Amplifi Remote app. To change effects: Click on the effect type (Stomp, Mod, Delay) and then click on the title of the effect on the left side. This will bring up a list of all of the effects of that type. If you click on "Type", again on the left, you can then choose a different type of effect (Drivers & Dynamics, Mods, Delays, Filters, Synths and Pitch). You can only select reverb effects for the Reverb slot. You can also move the order of the effects in the chain by holding down on the effect slot in the chain, and dragging it to a new spot. The effects all have to be either before the Amp/Cab, or after Comp and EQ. There are lots of YouTube videos that you can watch that give detailed instructions on how to create tones and how to work with the Amp/Shortboard. As for LED screens, I'm sure if consumers were willing to pay $400+ for a Shortboard with a screen above each effect button Line 6 might consider it. I doubt anyone would pay for that though. Most people just leave the app open on their ipads/tablets so that they can see the set up for each patch.
  25. Do you mean that you want to turn the volume down for the amp's speaker? If so, just turn the Overall volume (red) all the way down to 0. If you want to disable any of the Amplifi's sound processing (meaning it's not acting as an amp) then disable any effects (turn them all off) and then under "Amp/Cab", select "No Amp" on the Clean amp selection screen.
