Look on Customtone for "Modern Plexi" and "FMM Epic". They both sound good with my rig for Classic Rock.

I don't see how you can do this without another interface. Maybe someone more computer savy will correct me. I bought a $100 interface because I didn't want to have my Helix always on. I run both the helix and the interface into a $25 small mixer ( https://www.amazon.com/Nobsound-Audio-Switcher-Selector-Splitter/dp/B07CKK7J2L/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) and then out to my JBL monitors. You can't use both at the same time, so just use the Helix interface when you want to play through the Helix and listen to your computer.

It sounds ok to me. I removed the pitch block, and added a Minotaur OD to get rid of some of the wooliness. I think it sounds great. I am playing it through a Les Paul with fairly hot pickups. File attached. 5150 v2.hlx

The Chris Beaver presets were very good. I used them for recording when I first got my Helix a few years back. His IRs were the secret sauce, I believe.

Are you hearing the guitar acoustically while monitoring with alt tunings? That will make it sound out of tune. Also, post a preset. I'll see how it sounds with my 89F and my Helix.

If you tried all those things and it still doesn't sound good enough than I am not sure anything will work for you.

Make sure the "output" parameter is set to "mute" while on the tuner screen.

I just got it working. Set buffer to 64 to get latency low enough to not be too annoying. Its "OK" enough latency-wise to make IRs.

I didn't know you could use Mikko as a standalone with Helix hardware. I need to figure out how to set this up in Windows.

Not sure how experienced a player you are, OP. How's your playing technique? Have you ever been able to get Strat tones out of any guitar/amp/mulit-fx combo?

Next time try the Bodonk, too. Her's my ratings... a lot of quality tones to pick from. The Friedman, Archon, 5150 and Revv all sounded very good. I would rate them the same quality-wise. Not a fan of the Mesa. The Soldano was nice but not as good as the other very good ones. Of course this is all subjective. YMMV.

I tried Google. I could only find a deleted PDF from 2016, posted on this forum by Line6Tony.

I was a bit dissapointed about it at first. I have all these Freman IRs that really sounded great that I couldn't load into the PC. I actually found some other IRs that work really well with the Powercab, so its all good.

It doesn't work. The exported IR is probably the original file non-truncated.
