  1. Watch Jason Sadites "Dialing in" series on YouTube. And Congrats!!!
  2. Get lost, creep. Nobody is buying your scam BS here. First post and you link a gofundme? Ha! try harder. Looks like you're the prick. Oh, and happy holidays to you, too.
  3. Contact Line 6 support. One way or another they will get you up and running.
  4. I've been wondering if it would eventually be possible to change the effect/amp block to a different effect/amp via snapshots within a single preset. Your chorus could change to a univibe with the press of a button. This would make the 6 block limit more palletable to some of those who would prefer more.
  5. If you follow the pinned "update" thread, you'll get an email when the new firmware drops.
  6. If you want to control the Variax with the footswitches on the Helix, you need a VDI cable. You could use the Line 6 Link to go between the Helix and Powercab, but you can't control the IRs/speaker models in the PC via L6 Link (yet) so that is not all that important... you could just use a regular 1/4" or XLR cable into the regular inputs of the Powercab. Enjoy your new gear!
  7. i would call customer support. I had a similar issue with my old POD HD and got it sorted on the phone with CS within 30 minutes.
  8. The four cable method (using HXFX and your amp's effects loop) with an EQ or compressor (or some other cleanish boost) after the preamp of your high gain amp is really the best way to get clean volume increase without changing the sound. Any boosts added before the preamp will only saturate the sound, especially at high gain, and not yield much in the way of a volume boost.
  9. Instants? If you mean "stomp mode", then yes that's what I am currently using, but I am missing the benefits of snapshots. Mainly being able to use multiple switches control the same blocks. I don't want to have to go between snapshot and stomp mode to change presets on my Sy300 and bypass the synth and turn on an amp and a couple other blocks. I want to be able to do that by stepping on one switch.
  10. I have the PC Plus. The speaker sims sound fantastic at low volume. They sound even better loud.
  11. Yes sir. Audiobox is set as the default device. I appreciate all the tips so far. Nothing is fixing it but as I said its really just a minor nuisance more than anything else.
  12. You shouldn't. Just run Helix directly into the L3T.
  13. I like your thinking! I just tried this, however, and when I reconnected Helix after changing the default, the Helix took over output duties once again.
  14. This is more of a Windows Question, but how do I stop Windows from automatically changing my output device every time I plug in the Helix, or the Boss SY-300, or my Blackstar ID amp. Any time I plug any of these devices into my computer, they automatically become the current output device. I have looked for settings to keep using my preferred output device (Audiobox USB Interface) until I manually change it to something else, but I couldn't find any such setting. It's not a super big deal but it is kind of a PITA in that it interrupts workflow when I connect devices to my computer. Anyone have any suggestions?
  15. For that song I would try a distorted preset with an amp only... no speaker block or IR.
  16. In Helix, IRs are usually guitar cabinet sims. They will replace the "cab" blocks in your signal chain. However, some of GDs IRs are really custom "eq" blocks, to be used in conjunction with a "cab" block or another IR used as a speaker cab sim. Really since you are just starting, I would stay away from IRs for a bit until you get the hang of using the Helix with the stock cabs.
  17. It threw me for a loop for about two seconds, but then I figured out I can change the colors of my snapshot switches by left clicking on them and everything was OK again.
  18. Yes i was using hx edit. Thanks i will update that later today.
  19. I had a successful update, and followed the instructions to the letter. No new distortions. What'd I do wrong? I seem to remember an additional step to the update process where I had to restart Helix while holding a couple switches down, but I don't want to do that this time because it wasn't in the instructions.
  20. Quote from Frank R over on TGP, regarding the new firmware being released... "Shooting for Monday. We were hoping to have it out weds but we found a couple critters that needed squashing"
  21. Don't have any advice for you with the DT amp and Helix, but buy this cable instead of the L6 Link ... will work 100% and mine was $12 shipped. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=601606&gclid=Cj0KCQjwgMnYBRDRARIsANC2dfnYU6IZvoVQY5D_rZaw7niwTHY6rlJkY8BSg-tCQtF8QHj4-mbAsToaAkNTEALw_wcB
  22. On some of my presets I just turn the amp block off for cleans. Works like a charm.
  23. I would call line 6. I'll bet they'd have you registered in 15 minutes over the phone.
  24. I use an Alto TS112. Out of production but works great. I also have a Firehawk 1500 that sounds amazing as an FRFR with Helix.
