Ok thanks guys. Sounds like this is typical behavior. I thought maybe my Alto was failing but i think I'm ok. -
My Alto TS112 monitor makes noise when Helix is powered off
Rocco_Crocco replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in Helix
XLR out went to FOH. Used 1/4" for monitor. It never did this before. -
I don't think this is an issue with my Helix, but I am hoping someone here may have experience with this problem. At a gig last night, my monitor made a loud buzz or humming sound when I connected it to my (powered off) Helix. When I turned on the Helix, the noise went away and the speaker worked fine for the whole gig. After the show I shut off the Helix and the noise came back. The Alto is connected to Helix via 1/4" cable. When I unplugged the cable from the Alto, the noise went away. I tried another cable know to be good and the same noise was present It seems this problem has nothing to do with the Helix, but rather must be an issue with the Alto, right? Unfortunately I didn't have time to try and further troubleshoot the problem and now the speaker is at our practice space. Anyone have an idea as to what may cause something like this?

Hmmm. Here in the US the Firehawk has had a pretty big price drop at Guitar Center and Sweetwater. From $450 to $350. Maybe they are being discontinued. The 1500 is still available and is still $1000 USD.

What firmware update will have a model of the "Talent Booster" pedal, and will it be true bypass?

That's a cool song. The bass lines are great.

OP you say you have a backup to the Helix, so why allow yourself to be disappointed? You really didn't lose anything.

JTV 59 Questions
Rocco_Crocco replied to specracer986's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Well... a little I guess. It most definitely begins to look glossier, but doesn't get that sticky feeling. But maybe you can't really go by me. I have 10 guitars or so, and I really like spreading out the playing time among them all, so really each guitar taken on its own doesn't get a lot of playing time. -
JTV 59 Questions

I do this on all of my poly-necked guitars. Just feels so much better to me. This guy outlines how I do it. I would avoid steel wool, just because it gets messy and could get stuck to the pickups because of the magnets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxGz6IZ9BFI&t= -
I got this Strat bank from forum member Arislaf. It's very good. https://app.box.com/s/ji2trjkge13hbnslasksnyfy8m8t50nh Also, If you bought the Fremen big-pack for Helix, there's a whole variax bundle that he included. Itwas a massive improvement over anything I could dial in myself on workbench. Loud and proud.

Turn them off on the app. Tap on the effect you want to bypass and tap the power button that looks like this. It appears next to the effect name about halfway down on the screen.

Have you adjusted the hi cut in your cab block/IR, or used an eq to remove the harshness? If not, I suggest reducing the hi cut in the cab/IR block to 7.0 as a starting point. Adjust up or down to taste from there.

The ernie ball pedals are not heavy, OP. The are light and sturdy as h*ll.

Never thought I'd hear those words together. That's pretty cool! What do you guys mean by user scales?

I figured it out.

I think those are synth sounds, but you can use a tremolo to get close.

This is my favorite demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuZurmlRlUM

Make Your Variax Sound 100% Better
Rocco_Crocco replied to katiekerry's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Both of my Variaxes have 9,s. The 89F was fine right from the day I got it, but the 59 took me downloading other people's bundles and re-installing a few stock presets before the plink went away completely. They now sound great with 9's. -
Why wouldn't you be able to have a snapshot only be a gain boost? Many of my presets have this setup, unless i am not understanding you properly.

I have banks for different pickups... JB/Jazz, EMG, Super Distortion, p90s. For some reason the p90 bank sounds great will all the other pickups without any tweaking.
