Do you have Global Settings>Preferences>Snapshot Edits set to Recall? (page 51 of the manual)
-
In Global Settings>Ins/outs>Send/Returns, check to see if they are set to instrument or line level. Is the volume drop apparent in FOH and your Bogner cube monitor? If you plug in headphones into the helix, is the volume drop apparent there?

Some parameters do not necessarily have a default, just reverts back to what is first on the list of choices.
-
Can you post a screen shot of your patch so we can see how you have things routed in your signal paths?
-
Try starting another patch from scratch with your new way of splitting it up. One time I started a patch that got too DSP heavy and tried deleting blocks to free some up. For some reason, the block choices were still "greyed out" and could not be selected. I started a new patch from scratch and all was good.

The video below shows a creative way of filling out the cabinet sound. I do something similar, always using two cabinet blocks, different mic models, different early reflections on each cab, and a 5ms time delay on one of the cabs. Sound really fills out nicely without getting too wet. Everything on my top signal path is mono, amp, two cab models with just two-three blocks before the amp. The bottom signal path is all stereo effects: modulation, delays, and reverbs. That spreads out the DSP usage quite nicely.

If you can afford the fraction of a second lag in between loading presets, just switch presets. If you are attempting multiple amps using snapshots, then you have to get creative. Split up your amps and cabs between the upper and lower paths, and pick just the effects that you want to use. You will run out of DSP pretty quickly if you are running two amps and two different cabs. Download some patches from Customtone to see how others are spreading out their DSP usage.

You don't need the expensive Apple brand adapter. This $8 adapter I got on Amazon works with my iPhone 6. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S9I7EPO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't know if this helps, but Paul Glover has a video of a w/d/w rig and the wet is utilizing Laney's FRFR cabinets. Everything is mic'ed in the video, not DI. I'd have to watch the video again to see if he just runs through the FRFR cabs with any of his patches.

I am using an external for EXP2 until a fix comes out. Saves a lot of time rather than doing the temporary fix.
-
Hmm, not everyone has the issue. Interesting... I did also notice last time the volume randomly went to 1%, it was not instantaneous. It took 1-2 seconds for the volume to go from 100% to 1%. Line 6 support emailed me about the issue and insisted that rebuilding the patch by deleting the volume block, saving, then adding the volume block again fixes the issue. I am waiting to give that a try once I catch which preset is doing it again.

It shouldn't be a hardware thing if their expression pedal is using a potentiometer, which it seems to be. An analog value from a potentiometer gives pedal position, and not a change of position.

I've tried deleting and adding the block back in as well, to no avail. I am wondering if everyone has the bug. I'd like to see a screen shot of the signal chain of someone that does not have the bug. Just curious to see if it is block placement, what is before/after in the chain, or if the block is set up for linear/logarithmic. If everyone has the bug, then it doesn't matter. We'll just wait for a firmware fix. I finally had it happen to me while playing at church. Not devastating, but definitely distracting. At least I knew exactly what it was and just stepped on the pedal to get it back.

Go to the customtone Helix area and put "4 cable" in the search field. A couple of pages of patches comes up. http://line6.com/customtone/search/?submitted=1&family=helix&search_term=4+cable

Snapshots, just modify the harmony interval.
-
Yes, beware of the thin headphone effect. My tones are a bit thin in the in-ear monitors, and I am tempted to tweak the tone on the Helix. I have to keep myself from doing that because it sounds great in the house. I need to figure out how to EQ my sound on our Behringer P-16 monitor controller so that it sounds a bit more full. That way the process is seamless from building tones at home to playing at church.

Ok, as soon as I clicked on one of the snapshots, EXP2 disappeared from the scribble strip on all presets. Everything was good until I clicked on a snapshot. I played in stomp box mode for quite a while and all was good.
-
i like using separate amp and cab blocks to mix and match not-so typical combinations or pairing two different cabinets to an amp.
-
I am going to each preset and looking at the expression pedal scribble strip. They all show EXP1 EXP2. I only had about 30 patches set up in one of my user set lists, so it didn't take long to get through all of my user patches. All the factory presets appear to be normal too (just clicked on each one to verify both expression pedals showing in scribble strip)
-
I did factory restore before doing the update. Flawless update and all of my imported patches/setlists came in perfectly.
-
No, the restored presets do not have the EXP1 bug. They all had the bug immediately after the update the first time the Helix finished "rebuilding presets". After the reboot and the second time it came up "rebuilding presets" the bug was completely gone from ALL presets in all setlists. The only thing I did differently was to restore to factory defaults before I did the update, rebooted when it was complete, then it rebuilt the presets the second time and everything was perfect.
-
They blinked in 2.01 as well. I don't believe there is a setting to turn that off.
-
Did my update yesterday. These were my steps: Backed up my setlists Backed up individual patches Reset Helix to factory Installed 2.10 (iOS Yosemite) Did the online update with Line6 Updater The Helix rebuilt the presets during the process ("rebuilding presets) EXP2 was missing from the scribble strip, and EXP1 did not work in effects blocks EXP2 was gone from ALL presets, even new factory presets and blank presets Imported one setlist. EXP2 missing there, but all my preset blocks and snapshots were present and unaffected Rebooted Helix, it showed "rebuilding presets" again EXP1/EXP2 were back and working on ALL presets, even on imported setlist patches I think resetting to factory defaults after making backups and before updating the firmware should be a recommended step. That should help prevent imported patches/setlists from getting corrupted when importing back. Just my thought

I am going direct to the PA with the Helix at church. We are using in ear monitors, but should not matter what you use as your on stage monitor. The patches in the house mix are pretty close to how they sound at home through headphones. I just have the sound guy run my eq flat on my Helix channel, and it sounds the same.
