Yup yup!

They'll probably have worked out the tap tempo tuner by that time, to make it twice as good.

This is my current configuration. 5 minutes to set up and tear down, with only one item in each hand. And then there is the flexibility and sound quality.

Yeah, once your dry guitar track is laid down in Reaper, you just send that dry guitar out to the Helix via usb and play the dry guitar through your preset, recording the new signal to another track in Reaper. Reamping is just using Helix and the DAW via USB, no guitar source from VDI or 1/4"

Conspiracy theory: Depends if global warming, climate change, or global cooling is en vogue at the time.

I've never started one of these threads before. Kind of makes me feel a little dirty. So... 1. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. 2. Any guesses will be debated heavily. 3. Any conspiracy theories will be repeated endlessly.

There is an issue with the input impedance setting on "Auto" and a fuzz in the first block in your signal chain. With your input impedance set on auto, the input impedance changes when you activate the fuzz block, but it doesn't change back when the fuzz is turned off. Your tone will be different. The work around is assigning input impedance values to the stomp that activates the fuzz block so that you are switching between two impedance values when turning on/off the fuzz.

You could measure the voltage at the EXP port to see what is going on there, but that may not tell you enough. Rig up a 10k pot to a 1/4" jack so you can easily measure what's happening with a mulitmeter. However, things get wonky when you have the Helix reference voltage and whatever control voltage you intend to send it marry up. I wouldn't recommend experimentation.

What did you do to get it working?
-
So when you open the tuner on the Helix, the input setting on the left most knob is set to guitar?
-
Reflash won't help... Actually, I don't see why the tuner was great for you before, but now not on 2.3.

Um, I didn't realize you were doing name that riff winners on this forum. I thought just on your YouTube channel. Dang it... I didn't recognize this riff anyway, so no sweat...

Some of the guys on this forum are beta testers for Line 6, so they get to play with the cool updates before the rest of us peasants.

Why does Sean use three fx loops for a stereo pedal in this video?
jbuhajla replied to StruckingFuggle's topic in Helix
He was only connecting two external pedals, so it didn't matter. If you are going to be utilizing all 4 loops, then you would have to be more careful in how they are connected/routed. -
The Ryobi is pretty quiet, not as quiet as the Honda models, but 1/2 the price of the Honda.

I am not saying that is how it actually is programmed to work deep in the Helix bowels, it just SEEMS that way to me. Try focusing releasing the switch with the tempo to see if you get better results. Not trying to start a new conspiracy theory, but this is a great opportunity to create a greater divide among Helix users than the old "tuner" subject. Then try your other foot to see if it is more accurate (<joke).

FRFR speakers are just powered PA speakers (but there are other more expensive varieties catering to the FRFR cork sniffers). I use two JBL EON 610s at home. If you are looking for more low end, then you can use the EON 612s. You don't need two speakers, but stereo is pretty cool especially when just playing around at home. Stereo live can be kind of tricky sometimes.

An expression pedal is a resistive device (potentiometer). You probably do not want to inject any external voltage into that EXP circuit. What are you trying to achieve?

Supposedly the new units have a beefed up connection at the board. I would still open a support ticket with Line 6 if yours failed. They may decide to replace your unit even though it may be out of the warranty window.

It definitely works differently than ANY tap tempo device I have ever used. I tried to tap in a few songs this weekend and it almost seems like the timing triggers off of the trailing edge of the foot switch (transition from on to off) rather than the leading edge (from off to on). There's no real definitive way to tell that though. It's usable for me 90% of the time, the other 10% I just create a separate preset with a set tempo.

Very quirky tap tempo on my FLOOR unit. I'll tap twice, no good, wait about 10 seconds, and try it again. It seems like tapping more than twice will make it not even close. Sometimes it takes me 3-4 times before I get close. I have to have a completely different preset with the tempo set exactly if I need the delays to be dead on or even within 1/2 bpm. It has been like that since day 1 on v2.01

I saw a 400Wh and 1000Wh version of these at Costco this weekend. Expensive but nice little units. If the Helix is 60W peak (AC) and the Power Station is 400Wh, then on paper you can get a little over 6 hours use. Now deduct the inverter section efficiency even at 50%, still gets you 3 hours of play time. That is also considering the 60W peak at the Helix, which is probably only at power up. http://www.goalzero.com/p/165/goal-zero-yeti-400-portable-power-station

Man, now I am SUPER excited for this update...
