  1. Is this the first time this has happened or did you just start using these units and this is the behavior from the beginning? Is sounds like it may be happening when the guitar transmitter goes into sleep mode. Have you made sure the firmware is up to date on both units?
  2. If you have the fuzz as the first block in the chain and you have your input impedance set to AUTO, the input impedance changes when you activate the fuzz, but does not change back when bypassing it. The workaround is to control the input impedance with the same stomp (or snapshot) that you are turning on your fuzz with. Set it to make the impedance go to (around) 10k when the fuzz is on, and 1M when it is bypassed.
  3. Your recorded guitar from the DAW is a different input than you playing guitar through the guitar IN of the helix. So the volumes may be different at the speaker output.
  4. Auto for me. I don't really use the fuzzes.
  5. Are you recording to Reaper over USB?
  6. Try your favorite reverb with heavy mix (>50%) and your favorite delay with heavy mix but shorter feedback, but have the reverb and delay in parallel. If you don't have room for parallel signals, then run the reverb in front of the delay to maintain more of the reverb without getting hit repeatedly with the delay.
  7. I prefer mixing IRs and onboard cabs.
  8. Yes you can use multiple cab or IR blocks, or a mixture of both.
  9. Yes, change variax settings with snapshots.
  10. I believe there is a factory preset already set up for controlling a DAW if I remember correctly.
  11. Just be aware of distance. I have found that getting beyond 75 feet or so line of sight you will get noticeable latency in signal.
  12. Those synth models are just as they describe, "generators". They generate the note. They don't modify the notes from the guitar input.
  13. If you are using a desktop PC, use one of the USB ports on the back of the tower. If using a laptop, try a different port. You may have to do a factory reset (hold down FS 9/10 while powering up) if the unit no longer boots up correctly now. Then you can try the update again using a different USB port.
  14. ^What Phil said^ You can also change the volume on your computer once you have the USB 1/2 trim set in Helix to fine tune between backing tracks.
  15. What process did you use to do the update, what were your steps?
  16. What firmware are you updating from?
  17. Nice job Number 1, I guess that landed up being a Number 2.
  18. Hard to say based on the recording quality. Have you played around with the Litigator amp model? My main preset I use sounds very similar in the cleans and drive tones with my strat. It is Litigator based with a Marshall Basketweave IR and DrZ Best212 IR in parallel (3 Sigma Audio IRs). Basketweave side is dry and the DrZ side is wet.
  19. Do you mean you are unwilling to clean it, or it won't come clean not matter what you try?
  20. So you're the one that blows the bottom left speaker in all of those 8x10s...
