  1. Just Helix for me to achieve sonic bliss. I use on board cabs and a few IRs, and two external expression pedals for maximum flexibility.
  2. 100-240VAC input voltage.

    Looping memory

The looper has no memory. When you change presets or cycle power, the looper is empty. There is no looper file management either. Just a very basic looper, zero memory.
  4. Yeah there is some panning stuff going on in the double take. If you are running mono, it is pretty much like you describe, plain phase-poop.
  5. I remember someone asking a while back on this forum if the Pierce bass preamp was a model of Billy Sheehan's personal piece of gear. I guess the question has been answered.
  6. Open the amp settings, hold down the knob for the parameter you want to control with a foot switch, then choose the foot switch. You then set your min and max values. To control another parameter with the same foot switch, do exactly the same thing. I think you can control up to 8 different parameters with a single foot switch. For example: Clean/Drive amp foot switch settings: amp drive min 4, max 9 amp master min 10, max 6 The minimum settings are for clean, max settings are for driven. Clean, drive on 4 master on 10. Driven, drive on 9 master on 6 Remember you can assign multiple parameter min/max to a single foot switch. The above are just arbitrary numbers, your personal preference will vary.
  7. If you make sure all the blocks on Path 1 are mono, you may have enough DSP to put your amp block on the end of Path 1. That would allow you to move the blocks to the left on Path 2, and squeeze in your return on the end. You could also do something creative to get rid of one of your delay blocks on Path 2A that would allow you to scoot things to the left to give you room for your return on the end.
  8. On that note, make sure all of your blocks BEFORE your amp block are mono since the amp block sums everything to mono anyway. If they are stereo, you are using a lot of DSP that is unnecessary.
  9. If the path is full, you can't add any more blocks. What are you playing your drum tracks from? I play MP3 tracks from USB so that I am not using anything up on my guitar signal paths. I go PC>Helix USB 1/2. You can adjust the volume of your MP3s in Global settings>Ins Outs>USB 1/2 level
  10. Most of my patches are heavy on the clean. Most of my amp models when set up for clean have the channel volume set on 10, then the drive/master set for the clean tones, borderline breaking up. I then assign a stomp that will turn up the drive of the amp and decrease the channel volume simultaneously. This gives me the ability to toggle between clean and amp driven distortion. I then add OD pedals before the amp to use on the clean amp setting, or to push the amp more while the amp is being driven. Morale of the story is, use the "channel volume" of the amp model to adjust the overall volume without changing the tone. Drive and master volume will change the tone. Channel volume will allow you to balance the volume between clean and driven amp tones.
  11. I say again: Glenn DeLaune is a class act gent. God bless.
  12. Try some of the other "mid/high" amp models as a clean platform. You may be surprised. I love the Mesa MkIV Rhythm I/II as a "clean" amp. Some of the high gain models don't clean up at all, but a lot of them do.
  13. Just try the patch as is at first. If you think it's too dark, bypass the cab/IR blocks in your preset. From there, adjust the amp model parameters to taste. You should find something you like pretty quickly.
  14. I think Glenn is the most helpful man in all of Helix Land. You can use that line as a song lyric if you'd like.
  15. No thanks. I can't take the pressure.

    Helix FAQ

Does your high gain amp have an effects loop? The Twin does not, so you can set up one of the 4 signal paths within Helix to send 1/4" out to the front of the Twin. If you other amp has a loop, you can use 4CM with that on a different signal path in Helix. Then you can play one amp at a time or blend between the two.
  17. It still all comes down to what sounds good to the individual which is all subjective. It would be like doing statistical analysis on chicken noodle soup recipes and coming up with a recipe of "averages" of the various ingredients. Yes, it probably makes a decent soup, but it's still just subjective.
  18. Yep. I only tap twice. If that didn't get it, I wait a little bit then tap twice again. It can be frustrating sometimes. Sometimes I just save a preset dedicated for a song at a particular BPM so I don't have to worry about tapping.
  19. Correct, if you are using the GREEN instructions. Those are for going from 2.20 or 2.21 to 2.30 ONLY, then no global reset. I DO suggest rebooting after restoring backup so your presets can go through the rebuild process.
  20. Well that's the first time I have seen statistical analysis to choose preset parameters. Interesting perspective.
  21. This. You will get a LOT more volume with XLR outs set to line level.
  22. You may not have to build patch from scratch. Sometimes you can delete the Scream block, save the preset, put the Scream block back in the same place with same settings, save preset, and it will be fixed.
  23. If you are using Helix Floor or Rack, try plugging into the Aux so see what happens.
