  1. Yes it will do that until you "control" that parameter with snapshots (parameter in brackets). Once you are controlling that parameter in snapshots, then you can save a value per snapshot. Otherwise it will be "global" to the preset.
  2. That must be a seriously small stage if you have to try to use an M5 up front instead of just having your Helix up there. The Helix is pretty small in my opinion. I would think if your controller (Helix) is narrower that the width of your shoulders, it is small enough to have directly in front of you on stage. JMO.

    Helix 7CM

Does it require 26 hum eliminators for ground loops?
  4. I am loving the Cartographer with Drive 2 all the way down and Drive 1 up for a very clean chimey tone. That model can take you all over the place from clean to high gain.
  5. Great tone! Most times, simple is better in terms of preset complexity. I find myself often just using an overdrive pedal, amp/cab,and reverb only.
  6. Parker makes a stereo cable for the TRS on the guitar side, and two TS on the other. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PARKER20
  7. No noticeable audible improvements. There is another thread that tested some pre and post update sound with pre-recorded dry tracks, and found no differences.
  8. Open a support ticket with Line 6. They are covered by warranty for a year.
  9. I play exclusively P&W at my Church. Those models are not in the Helix, but I have found a good combination of having something sound "clean" then breaks up nicely when digging in, and stacking light overdrives on top can really put it over the edge. My main preset is based around the Litigator amp model, two cabinets in parallel (one for dry, one for wet), ES Compressor, EP Boost, Timmy OD and a few different delays and reverbs. I play mainly Tele or Strat. If you find yourself getting frustrated, shoot me a message and I can email you my goto preset to try out as a reference.
  10. For me it was worth it for the EP Boost and ES Compressor. Love them. The editor is much better too. Updating is painless, just backup individual presets since you are on 2.11. After you make the jump, then you can just do full backups.
  11. Maybe their modeling is so accurate that the algorithms for the modeled components are effected by temperature just like their analog counterpart. That would be weird...

    EP boost

I love this EP Boost model with the Litigator. I run it right after the new ES compressor model, before my drive pedals and amp.
  13. It's in the fretting hand ( or a telecaster with a G/B bender). It's all about the bends. There are some guys out there that have some great benging technique on the G/B strings on a Tele that sound great.
  14. My LED flip was with a patch created in 2.21, but it went back to normal when I hit the foot switch a couple of times.
  15. Yeah, I've noticed... LOL It's got to be the serial port hardware on your unit considering all the PCs you have tried.
  16. That stinks... I don't know if it matters, but did you restore from the new "full backup", or did you restore individual presets? Just curious. I saw only that one issue with a single delay when restoring from the new full backup method.
  17. I used to have HX Editor lose connection over USB constantly when I was using any other software utilizing the sound card (Windows 10 machine). I could not use the Editor if I had Reaper open or if I was streaming audio. That is no longer the case with 2.30. I have spent many days with HX Editor 2.30, Reaper, Streaming audio all open and being used at the same time, and ZERO dropouts.
  18. That is not an issue exclusive to Helix. Any multieffect/modeler has the same "issue". Anything that you can put multiple effects/models that have variable level control are going to result in varying relative volumes. Normalizing volumes is just something you do.
  19. I think I had one preset with a delay that showed to be on, but was off. I hit the foot switch once and it went back to normal.
  20. Sounds like something mechanical or a connection with the joystick, not firmware related. I would open a support ticket with Line 6

  22. Or you can control the mix of the FXLoop block with the expression, and control on/off with a foot switch.
