  1. Yup. It doesn't matter the music. It always goes best as being "you" while doing someone else's music.
  2. Fantastic! Very creatively done.
  3. Same thing with me in my house. It is not my Helix, it is my LED lighting on the same circuit.
  4. Mind = BLOWN. I think what put it over the top was him wearing his grandmother's sweater. Genius...
  5. Yes, it is the same guy as before. I wish Andy Summers would quit trolling the forums.
  6. Global Settings> Ins Outs > Mic In Gain. It is a dedicated mic input, so you can't switch it to line. You can adjust the gain globally though.
  7. I assume you are new to Helix. My recommendation would be to replicate your guitar rig before Helix. Adjust from there. If you have another tone in your head, research what the player was using for the rig and reproduce it in Helix. Try not to get caught up in "nailing a tone" with 100% accuracy, you will just be spinning your wheels. There is no magic formula for producing a killer tone in the mix of your band. Factors that will effect how you approach it are: 1. What you are playing through (FOH, guitar amp, etc...) 2. What you are monitoring your sound through (wedges, IEM...) 3. What is going on in the rest of the band. 4. Where you are playing. If you are are having to turn up because the rest of the band is getting louder, and the increase in volume is not a planned dynamic musically, then it's time to talk to the band. If this is planned, then put a gain block at the end of your chain and control the gain parameter appropriately. If they are just getting louder for no reason, they need to knock it off.
  8. So you are going Helix Mic in> Helix signal path>Helix output to an interface via cable, or are you going Helix USB to your DAW?
  9. No oversight by Line 6, each preset is a blank canvas. You have to put in a wah block if you want wah.
  10. Yep. When you turn the main volume down, you turn on "loudness" and it boosts bass and treble frequencies.
  11. ^Yup, that^ Just pull out the transmitter from the base about 1/4" when it is done charging, and it will be good for a couple of weeks.
  12. Been using one for about a year now, and love it as well. So easy to swap guitars with that system, just plug and chug. Just be careful with where the power chord plugs into the micro usb connection. The connector in the base unit can be a point of failure if you are not gentile with it.
  13. I am hoping the "utility block" is a single block that sounds like Andy Summers.
  14. You can adjust the level in Global settings>ins outs>USB 1/2.
  15. I don't understand the personality of "Andy Summers Tone" guys.... I love me some Andy Summers, but geez...
  16. I believe they are the same, they were just nice enough to put one on the input so you wouldn't have to use a block in your signal path if you just want one in front.
  17. In the original post, I think he overlaid his guitar track over the Synchronicity tune. It sounds similar to the original track.
  18. Or you can go iMac, PC, iPhone, iPad through USB to Helix and play audio over USB 1/2.
  19. You can "sound like" Andy Summers with just about any rig, as long as you play like he does. Most people chase the ecoplex>JC120 route for the "holy grail" AS tone, but frankly it just really doesn't matter. Look at his live rig in 2007 in the picture in the page below. Still sounds like Andy Summers even through a completely different rig. But, I digress... http://www.watersish.com/archives/2014/06/andy-summers-rig-the-police-reunion-tour-2007.html
  20. I think TheBreakneck IS Andy Summers.
  21. Yup. You can put the looper anywhere in the chain you want. I do that when setting up presets so I can just tweak and not have to play.
