Only if you let yourself get sucked into it. The way I see it, I am happy with what I have now, so if I get anything extra that is or is not useful to me, then SWEET. I have already put the EP boost and ES compressor in most of my go to presets.

That isn't a step in the 2.20 or above update procedure (steps in green font) http://line6.com/support/topic/18284-latest-helix-firmware-230—nov-21-2017/

I always reboot after loading my presets after an update so it can rebuild the presets.
-
Did you uninstalll the old version?

Backup and restore is a piece of cake! Install new software first Make a backup with HX Edit 2.3 Update firmware Restore backup Done! did cycle power after restoring so it would rebuild presets again. BRILLIANT! It even backs up and restores IRs.

I'd love to see the TC Electronic Polytune 2 modeled. C'mon, no one has mentioned a tuner is the past few dozen posts...

My amp models are set up to be pretty bright and I use Fender T and S guitars with single coils. 5-7kHz is not harsh at all. Just takes a bit of the edge off while leaving the chime.

I would run the vocals in a separate path in Helix with dedicated helix outputs for vocals going to the board. It is not necessary to send the vocals through the Firehawk. That way you can control that channel independently and have independent effects on vocals.

I can't reliably play audio through Helix while using Editor. My Editor "fails to connect" to Helix quite often, on both my Windows 10 machine and Mac.

Different types of amplifiers so it's trying to compare apples to oranges. Some also have separate amplifiers for each driver.

Yes copy and modify them for FRFR. Generally speaking, you can set your low cuts on the cab block to around 120Hz and High cuts anywhere from 5-7kHz and that will get you pretty far. If you are using a powered speaker in a floor wedge configuration, you will get the bass coupling effect from the proximity to the floor. Some speakers have a "monitor mode" switch that will decrease the bass response to help fix that. If not, you will have to cut some more bass response from your preset somewhere.

Maybe Line 6 can release their own line of wall calendars targeting all the users waiting for update releases.

I haven't heard about that. Is that confirmed somewhere?

The problem is not the Helix, it is the Helix Editor application. I don't have luck having audio playing AND using the Editor at the same time, so I just have audio playing (for backing tracks) and edit my presets on the Helix itself. There is a new editor (completely new software, not just an update) coming out soon. Hang in there and the Editor dropout woes will be remedied soon with the new editor.

What seems to be the most popular budget speaker here is the Alto TX10 or the TS210. They are powered 10" two way speaker.

Are you using a DAW software on your PC?

WTF??? My Line 6 account doesn't show any registered products?? WTF?

Hey kids, I'll turn this car back around right now... -
You can do either, or both. However, none of your presets created using headphones will sound the same through speakers and especially through a guitar amp. Do some research on 4 cable method with Helix and also wet/dry/wet methods (4 cable method with a guitar amp AND two FRFR speakers)

1. You can use XLR or 1/4", however you want to do it. You can set outputs to mic or line level, I believe they are set to line by default. 2. You may want to hit the Youtubes and watch some videos on building presets in Helix.

Open a support ticket with Line 6.

A UPS will regulate voltage to proper levels and filter noise.

Who uses their global EQ to compensate for different guitar pickups?
jbuhajla replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in Helix
With 1024 preset slots, it's a bit easier just to copy a preset to another slot and adjust for a particular guitar and somehow differentiate between presets with a naming convention to include the particular guitar. -
Can G10 be power using XLR with phantom power?
jbuhajla replied to mwoolsey's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
Don't think so. Phantom power is 48v, and the G10 requires 5v. I am pretty sure the XLR on G10 is signal output only.
