  1. On my Blues Deluxe Reissue, if I try to use the channel switching circuit with Helix, I get crazy buzz. I just leave the amp on channel 1 or channel 2 and don't try to channel change with Helix. Maybe post a picture of your preset so we can see your routing.
  2. Not horrible, but very dynamic. Quite a bit different from rehearsal with an empty worship hall than when it is full of people. Rows of people act like rows of sound absorption panels in the room. We don't worry about it much though. If things sound good during rehearsal, they won't sound bad during services.
  3. Click on More Reply Options, and it allows you to attach a picture file.
  4. ...or a church using volunteers for running sound in which case they may adjust overall levels for channels, but not EQ'ing. Probably better they don't touch the EQ anyway.
  5. Since this is new to you, I recommend going simple. Connect your speakers to Helix and build a very basic preset (don't mess around with the factory presets). I don't know what style of player you are, but for me I just drop in an amp/cab block in (like the Plexi model) and give it a play with default settings. See how you like it. I am not big on EQing my presets. I DO play with the amp settings and cabinet hi/low cuts, but nearly NONE of my preset have an eq block anywhere in there. I make it sound good to my ears with just the parameters on the amp, cab, and drive models, just like I would on my "real" guitar rig.
  6. A dual gig bag may work, just with one guitar and the Helix where the other guitar would go. I have not tried it though.
  7. Have you played with the three EXT AMP settings in Control Center? I think they are tip/sleeve, ring/sleeve, or both.
  8. Well, that sure is maximizing your inputs and outputs!
  9. I use my external mostly for controlling mix/feedback of delays, dwell on reverbs, and other parameters.
  10. I've also noticed some pops/clicks being caused by static electricity when connected to PC through USB. Things that have alleviated some of that was to be sure Helix/PC were plugged into the same power circuit (I am now using a UPS), and spraying the flooring in your area with static guard, especially if your area is carpeted. Static from your body will jump over to the Helix pretty readily. I could easily reproduce the popping by rubbing my socked feet on the carpet and touching the capacitive touch buttons on Helix.
  11. I would also ask if going direct from Helix to the board is an option, and take the Kemper out of the equation. If the church has a dedicated sound guy, that shouldn't be an issue. Just take the outputs from the Kemper and plug them into your Helix. Ask the sound guy if he is expecting a line level or mic level signal. If he doesn't know, then give him a mic level output signal from Helix and he can turn up your channel if necessary. My P/W rig is Helix direct to the board. Sometimes a guy fills in for me that plays with a mic'ed amp in an isolation enclosure, but we share the same XLR. I have my output on Helix set to mic level so I can swap out between Helix and cabinet mic seamlessly when needed.
  12. I would expect yes. If it is set to line level, you are sending a line level signal into the front end of the Kemper/Tone Block which is expecting a much lower level instrument level signal. 4cm may be a little different. Generally your signals are instrument level on the Helix out and Helix loops, but some amps can take line level inputs in their effects loop. I don't have a 5150 so I cannot say for sure.
  13. Yes, that. I am assuming he is already using amp models since he is going from Helix to the FX return on the Orange amp. Definitely add cab models to the presets.
  14. I am not sure what default is either but you can find it in Global Settings>Ins/Outs on the second page under 1/4" Outs. Make sure it is set to instrument if you are going from 1/4" out to the Kemper in.
  15. When I transitioned to pedalboard/amp to Helix, I just used the same XLR cable my cabinet mic was using, set my Helix XLR output to mic level, and that was it. That is all you need to do for the transition. Helix XLR out direct to main mixer, done. You can set your XLR outs on Helix to mic or line level, so be aware of that.
  16. Did you have Helix and Kemper plugged into the same power source/circuit? Is your 1/4" out to Kemper set to instrument level?
  17. A split is a precious commodity. A send block just before the cab is the way to go.
  18. It makes me happy to see there are some kids out there doing something besides sitting around playing video games. NICE JOB!
  19. You may find that loosening it a bit will help prevent deflection of the main housing and make your expression pedal sweep perform much better. Some people experience not getting a full sweep of 100% or that it backs off 1-2% when they let their foot off. Loosening the mechanical pivot will help some of those cases.
  20. With Helix you can also go straight to PC with USB, connect your monitors to the Helix. Helix is an interface on its own. This is how I have mine connected, and you can play along to audio from your PC over USB 1/2. You also have 8 inputs and 8 outputs available if you have DAW software.
  21. That shouldn't make a difference. You should open a support ticket with Line 6 so they can resolve the issue
  22. The "value" of a used Helix unit is not effected what-so-ever. Just because a Helix owner took advantage of a one time savings for a software purchase does not mean that the resale value of the totally separate hardware is effected. Helix and Helix Native are two independent items. Also, Line 6 (or any other company for that matter) does not take into consideration "used" transactions among the public or used "value" of their equipment when they are developing their marketing and distribution plans.

    Wireless Rig

Not sure, never used that. What I do know is that a direct wired connection from point A to point B is more reliable than wireless. I am not willing to compromise the trade off with reliability on the output side of things. I take my gear with me after church as well. I have a dedicated XLR and power chord sitting in my spot on stage. I just plop my Helix down, plug in XLR, power, external expression, G10, and I am good to go. It's a 3 minute set up and tear down. 5 minutes if you include me tuning and doing a quick sound check.
