Looks like that would work...but...$50????? That is really expensive! If you have some Do It Yourself skills, you can package the little converter below into something (Altoids can, small plastic box, etc...) and convert your 9VDC to 5VDC. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HM12N2C/ref=asc_df_B01HM12N2C5297889/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B01HM12N2C&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167141218295&hvpos=1o8&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3895445935986093069&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=200623&hvtargid=pla-307236316948

What do you referring to on these (External Amp In > Cab clone Line Out )? I pulled up some pics of an OR15 and there is just guitar in, speaker outputs, and FX Loop.
-
If the dry guitar through Helix is louder that just the guitar by itself, then you may need to set your 1/4" output to INSTRUMENT not LINE. I think the default is LINE.
-
Man, people are way too passionate about the silly tuner. I think "ignore the top line" is a work around suggestion, nothing more.
-
It's probably due to the expanded frequency response of the Helix and different IRs. Fret buzz will be most evident in the high-mid to high end of the frequency spectrum (as far as guitar is concerned), so it will be more evident with just Helix. A guitar amp is essentially cutting those higher frequencies making fret buzz less evident.

I did find this. It sounds like the "hybrid cab" is an IR plus algorithms for the associated changeable parameters. So it is an Impulse Response plus algorithms that make the IR adjustable for mic, mic placement and room reflections. https://l6c-acdn2.line6.net/data/6/0a020a3d43095900a82ce2652/application/pdf/helix-blog-hybrid-cabs.pdf

I need one of those, but I don't make any money playing so that's not happening for me either.
-
It should, but I haven't tried it myself. I use the cheap plastic Line 6 EXP-1 pedals. I've had some for years with zero issues.
-
G10 works with Helix, but you still need the base unit, not like the Spider amp where you just need the transmitter. I made some space in a SKB case for my G10 with my Helix. If you purchased from Sweetwater, they usually ship with the latest firmware (currently 2.30).

I was thinking it was DI that posted that, but I can't find the post. It could be just my middle aged brain matter conjuring up things...
-
You may find the control voltage out (0-5VDC) will work the best. You can use the Line 6 G10 wireless, but you will need a 1/4" TS to 25 pin parallel port adapter. To maximize suck, start with Helix tuner on, and 4 helix on board cabinets in series. Depending on your robotic vacuum model, you may need to adjust the input impedance from auto to something closer to the impedance of a '78 Ford Pinto hubcap. That should get you close.
-
The point was that the on board cab in the Helix is not some sort of inferior cabinet modeling technology, they are impulse responses the same (technically) as the rest of the 3rd party IRs. Some people like the onboard, some don't. I use both. There are similar debates about the tuner, some like it and some don't. Ain't no biggie...
-
I use some Rosen Digital IRs, and enjoy them very much. I only use theirs and one other company for IRs.
-
I love how the "Tuner" threads always veer into another direction, and you never really know which direction. This one has gone "back in my day".
-
Just speaking for myself, I sold ALL of my pedals/effects after getting Helix (and recouped all the funds that I spent on Helix Floor). I only kept one amp just in case I want to use it with Helix via 4CM. I am not a pro but play weekly at church, contemporary P&W. My opinion is keep the Polytune, you won't need the rest.
-
I got a code with my Polytune clip a while back. It was in the box with the clip. That could have been a temporary deal though, because I am not seeing it mentioned anywhere now. It was about 6-8 months ago I bought the clip from Sweetwater on sale for $40, and got the free plugin. The plugin is fantastic.

I haven't used Edit on Mac in quite a while, but isn't there an uninstaller for the HX Edit app that you just run to uninstall the 2.21 version? If not, you should be able to drag it from the applications folder into the trash folder, then empty the trash.
-
Also keep in mind, Helix stock cabs ARE impulse responses. Line 6 just gave them some more tidy controls (mics/distance/ER) that change them behind the scenes rather than just scrolling through a bunch of IR files.
-
Yep, it does. HX Edit is just an "extension" or "viewer" of sorts. Not stand alone. Native is stand alone and you can preview presets with that, but it is not free.
-
On all Helix presets, or just one/more in particular?
-
YUP!

I may be missing something here, but can you just look at the Helix screen to visualize the preset? Are you using a Helix LT?
