  1. unfortunately there aren't many places that are going to list just numerical values, perhaps you can find an older computer that you can download gearbox onto for testing?
  2. losing power in the middle of an update is a bad thing... Unfortunately this requires a trip to an authorized repair center.
  3. you're talkin about an MXR Distortion+? I asked our head of modeling about that for when we are recreating artist tones (i.e. Randy Rhoads). he pulled up the schematics for the MXR and said the circuit is not really a full on "distortion" pedal like we think of these days, more of an OD. I was told the DOD 250 and Tube screamer would be good substitutes, so try the TS first and see how that works out.
  4. wow - sorry to hear about the loss! +1 to all comments above. the X has a little more processing (and a slightly higher screen resolution to my eyes), but the functionality is the same. hope this helps get you back performing.
  5. another common trouble-shooting measure is to ensure everything in the audio chain is plugged into the same power source - meaning that your Helix (or amps/pedals) should go into the same power source as the PA that you'll be connecting to. This will help resolve many grounding issues that you'll run into in rehearsal/performance situations.
  6. the only way I have been able to do this is to "add 1" to the FS assignments. I.e. - FS2 on the Pro X is FS3 on the FBV3, and so on. FS1is "hard assigned" to the looper, so don't plan to use that unless you are doing looping.
  7. Angus & Malcolm were all about Humbucking guitars into marshalls - here is a tone template to help you out: http://line6.com/data/6/0a0643891075c57b6438b9832f/application/pdf
  8. you are not lost, that is "how it is". the FBV3 is much newer than HD, and FS1 is now auto-assigned to the looper on/off (which would have been on FS5 on the 500X). that means everything is shifted over 1. (the "function" button is the setlist changer) I was originally a little bummed on this - I really like the FBV3 format/lights for use in my performance rig with my HD Pro X and was hoping this could be changed, but after speaking with a few people internally I don't see that happening in the forseeable future. the silver lining: I just reassigned where the buttons were I wanted to go and it works great - had completely forgotten about that situation until I saw your post, which means that you'll probably adjust pretty quickly/easily ;)
  9. Trolley - sounds like you have firmware prior to the "RF2" release. you need an XDV 75 to update if you want the latest, but most Line 6 repair shops offer this upgrade service as well. personally I like running the latest software in RF1, as it uses four carrier waves (rather than two for RF2) - the product specialists sometimes call this the "kill em all mode". Ilynnnathaniel - sounds like there may be an issue with your TBP12 pack, try a different pack to see if you have the same situation. All Relay or XDV TPB6 & 12 transmitters are interchangeable (assuming you have recent software). I suspect that the battery door may be coming slightly ajar when you move, which is powering the unit off - but please confirm with another transmitter. if you purchased the unit new you should connect with your Line 6 distributor to look into a warranty repair.
  10. G30 needs to be turned off when you are not using it, or you will drain the batteries. for future use - the G70/75 has a sensor that will put it to sleep after it has nothing happening for a bit, and the G10 will go to sleep when not being used either. hope this helps!
  11. another potential option would be to use an external expression pedal (i.e. Line 6 EX-1 or Mission Audio), but you would need a shortboard for that (not sure what you are currently using).
  12. A lot of great comments! One thought that may be helpful to some - I always think of mics as the following general categories: Dynamic - more "aggressive" sounding, often has specific frequency dips Condenser - more "even" sounding due to their design Ribbon - more "warm" sounding due to their design a pretty common studio trick for heavier guitar sounds is to use a dynamic mic a couple inches away from the cab, then a condenser mic a little further back. On HD you can accomplish this by setting the same amp up and changing out the mics on the cabs - and changing the cabs can be a fun way to shape tones as well.
  13. +1 to Skybone - back when I was in CS there was no way to "gift" model packs, I stand corrected - thanks for clarifying! re: what model packs came with what - there was the "basic" set that came with the guitarport & Toneport series. The XT series came with the "power pack" already installed (not able to transfer out). the XT Live also had the "FX Junkie" model pack "hard-installed" as well.
  14. that is a cool Rockman collection! +1 to MelThorpe - a lot of people used the Rockman modules to create "their" sound, including Def Leppard (all over the Hysteria album), Tony MacAlpine (Driver/Maximum Security Era), and even heavier bands like Fates Warning - the Awaken the Guardian & No Exit Album were a Rockman Sustainer module into a non-master volume Marshall. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06438910cc557b654e1d76e9/application/pdf the ironic thing to me is that Scholz actually used Marshalls on the first two Boston Albums, here is a tone template from various research we have collected over the years: http://line6.com/data/6/0a0643393d8a57b75fca1d68c/application/pdf I remember reading that he also used some pretty heavy compression and an an EV RE-16 mic, in his basement ;)
  15. just posted some additional info in case you are interested: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/734297914213449580/
  16. +1 to BillBee. The #11-32-0020 definitely sounds legit, but the requirement is 9V AC 2000ma. the "G" (for "green") in the PX2 came later (2008?), as there were environmental requirements in the US that necessitated changing a few components. Early PX2 units were 1200ma (i.e. original POD and DL4), so you MAY have received this by someone who didn't know (or look closely at the specs). In any case, I recommend you try the PX2G, and it that works better (and cooler) just use that moving forward.
  17. Sorry to hear about these situations. For a little background: - model packs already reside on your unit (assuming it has model pack options and has current flash memory). A purchaser can assign the model pack code to a particular unit, unlocking access to the specific model pack. - the purchaser has control over how model packs can be assigned, and can move them between applicable units (i.e. from an XT bean to rack unit) - model packs are the "software property" of the OP, meaning that if a owner "recalls" the model packs they will go back to the purchasing account the next time the unit in question is connected to Line 6 Monkey. - the only way a person can "transfer ownership" of models packs is to give the new person access to their Line 6 account. probably not going to solve either of the situations described above, but hopefully clarifies some of the questions that may arise.
  18. this definitely works. another option would be to use the "Comp" as a boost - set the treshold to "0" andmove up the gain to the desired boost effect. this is also footswitchable if you are using an FBV3 or Shortboard Mk II.
  19. JMP45 called it - Early on BB used Fender combos, often a cranked twin. I have read interviews that stated he was often told to "turn down" during recordings, but live he would open up the amp to get more power amp saturation. Later BB switched to the Lab 5 amps (same amp as Ty Tabor in the early days of Kings X), which he often closed-mic'ed with a good ole SM-57. Here is a template to help if needed: http://line6.com/data/6/0a0643891080a57b6450bd1eef/application/pdf
  20. You can submit the Rockman module requests on ideascale - I have personally been wanting to have an X100 and the sustainer for a long time (yes - intentional pun).
  21. We just launched the new Line 6 Tone Templates site (http://line6.com/tone-templates/), here is a link for the documented rig we have: http://line6.com/data/6/0a06439c2c8157b7466f92725/application/pdf I remember providing gear for Mic Jones' Foreigner about 10 years ago, his rider asked for a JCM900 and Marshall 412 - specifically calling out 75w speakers. I asked the tech about it on show day and apparently Micj didn't like the way V30 sounded at that time)... definitely recommend a 2204 model to get the gain needed for some of those sounds. Hope this helps!
  22. Hello, please list the full serial number and I can look into it.
  23. recommend trying the PX2 power supply to see if that gets a different response and can help the service team know where to start looking.
  24. give service a call - they may be able to help out: 818.575.3600.
  25. the correct power supply is the Line 6 PX-2, which is 2000ma AC. you can also perform a factory reset by holding "A" & Tap (D) on power up with a cable in the left (mono) input... you'll see a scroll of lights to let you know it is reset. hope that gets you going!
