Not how to upgrade to 2.0 on the DT25- but what do after?
radatats replied to splitsurround's topic in DT50 / DT25
I don't know for sure its an iPad app, it is for OSX though. There are others for Windows too. Can anyone else confirm if there is an iPad app to edit your DT by midi? Is there even a midi device that can connect with an iPad? -

you DO need the app to be able to configure your DT in the first place but after that it becomes a regular two channel tube amp with 4 different amps available to each channel. There is no idiot's guide as such but if you use the DT manual and the HD Model Gallery you should be able to figure it all out... -

well first the good news... once you update you can use the app to configure 8 different amp/cab/mic configurations, 4 on each channel, just the way you want them. now the bad news... well, actually there isn't any! You can easily switch between any of the 8 amps by changing channels and using the topology switch. OK there is a small problem... only two amp knob positions can be active at any time, one in channel A and one in B. Their positions are not saved in the DT. That means when you change amps with the topology switch the knobs remain exactly where they are physically. If you go from a cranked Blackface to a Treadplate it can rip yer face off. However, If you pair it up with an HD500 all knob positions and amp/cab/mic parameters are saved with each patch... -
That's close bro, Still a little tame and a little harsh at places... good starter...

I have a DT25 but I need a FRFR solution too... no L series though...

This is the tone I struggle to get... any help appreciated...

HA! I know this isn't exactly on topic but I have a Rocktron 300 and I just came across this from Fryette... O. M. G... I am suddenly drooling... lol...

when you play in PRE changing patches changes the tone of what you have recorded and what you are overdubbing. when you play in POST what you recorded stays the same when you change patches, only what you overdub has the new tone. That is why if you are tweaking a tone use the PRE section so you can hear all the changes you are making to what you recorded. If you are playing live or laying down a rhythm track to jam to, use the POST section so what you record doesn't change when you kick it to lead to solo over it.

I will be interested to see what you think if it really makes a difference with a better tranny...

so from Page 8-5 in the Advanced manual there are two things you need to check. First, that the Playback volume is turned up. It is adjustable to allow you to be heard over the looped section. Second check your Overdub level. If it is set to 90% then the loop will be 10% quieter with each successive overdub. Looper Settings Press the VIEW button to display the Signal Flow View screen and select the Looper to access several additional settings. • 1 Playback - Use Multi-function Knob 1 to adjust the Looper playback volume. You may find it useful to turn this down a bit so that your live guitar can be slightly louder. • 2 Overdub - Use Multi-function Knob 2 to determine the volume of your loop in Overdub mode. For example, if your Overdub Level is set to 90%, each time your loop begins a new overdub its volume will be reduced by 10%, sounding quieter and quieter with each overdub pass. • 3 Hi Cut & 4 Lo Cut - Use Multi-function Knobs 3 & 4 to adjust these EQ options, to reduce the treble and bass of your Loop playback. It can be helpful to reduce these to optimize the “mix†of your Loop playback with your live guitar. These controls reduce the High and Low frequencies more as you raise their values.

so interesting to hear that because isn't that an older X3 model ported to the HD? It's not a full HD amp model is it?

it really is a shame. I have the Zoom MS100BT and the app for that lets you pick any amp or effect and demo it for 30 minutes and/or buy it. They load up by Bluetooth and its a great feature. I think if they invested in the website and the delivery method one time they could use it for years to come across all their future platforms. It also gives them the incentive to keep adding new items to the store front and keep us interested... don't mistake this for complaining, I'm not at all. Just think its a great idea...

just what we need, another thread on this subject...
-
Yep, but we have made suggestions before to allow us to substitute which amps are loaded. Maybe you don't need them all and could just load a custom list of the ones you use. Another great idea was to be able to mix and match pre and power sections like you can with the DT. That would pretty much eliminate the need to ever add another amp to the list as the possibilities would be endless.

Already a link at ideascale for the new FX so go vote for it. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Pod-HD-series-new-overdrive-fx-pedals/568598-23508 Here are some of my other favorites... http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/POD-HD-Split-preamp-Poweramp-cab-in-seperate-blocks/493760-23508 http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Ability-to-build-amp-packs-for-HD-series/491088-23508 http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Increase-number-of-modelled-pickups-for-Variax/502429-23508 http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Ability-to-Create-Custom-Pickups-in-Workbench/589366-23508

yeah, we've been down this road before. Already done other threads on cabs, IR's effects... I agree we already have enough amps but always glad to get new ones. However, a pack with just new cabs and mics or a pack with just effects like new, updated distortions and overdrives would be a great addition.
-
Yeah, that only works when using the POD amp sims. With 4CM and your Carvin, you are stuck losing the 2 blocks. Probably best to put the volume pedal last in the chain though to ensure it doesn't flavor your tone through the Carvin preamp, just the overall signal going to the power amp.

makes for good reading material when I am "on the throne" solving the worlds problems...

Apparently the OP was right... unlike us old timers with our plain HD500's, the "X" men really do have first class costumes... :D

volume = magic.

well the amp and cab list looks the same as X series, same as in the Amplifi app... sort of like an X series HD500 in a Flextone amp... Kind of wish they would make a similar stereo combo amp with the HD500X and you could use a FBV shortboard or even another HD500 to control it...
-
What series are the Vetta amp models and effects based on? X3, Spider, M series? What made the Vetta so special compared to a Spider or Flextone?

I never complain about what we get but across the board for all manufacturers this one really ticks me off. The manual updates should be integral part of every release or product ship. Unfortunately it seems to be a hit or miss event some time after delivery for a lot of companies, not just Line 6... If you are going to tout the release of a much anticipated product you should be prepared to fully document it at delivery...
