  1. Effect type Pitch --> Pitch Glide Place right after noise gate and before any other effects or amps. Turn on in FX tab of HD Edit and set pitch to +12 for one octave up. Go to Controller tab and set Pitch Glide mix to Exp 1 or 2, min 0, max 100. Now when playing with heel down you get your normal tone, when you go toe down it jumps one octave giving you that pinch harmonic/feedback effect... Anyone else feel free to offer other suggestions...
  2. pg 2-8 of the POD HD Advanced Guide. Download it and read it bro...
  3. not sure but if you can connect your head to your computer with midi there is a great DT Editor available from the sticky post in the DT amps forum... that will let you see what is there and any settings and make changes if you want.
  4. I think you need to save all your patches and do a complete system reset and recalibration... they should not need FS activation...
  5. suggest you check out this link before you buy the Atomic... http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/6465 Which ever way you go, you really should try each one if possible with your X3 in the store before you buy... Personally, I am waiting for this to be released next month (hopefully)... and yes, I will test it first... http://www.behringer.com/EN/products/KXD12.aspx
  6. Sounds like you have Exp 1 and 2 swapped. The high chimey sound may be the wah at full pedal down. As noted below from the Advanced Guide, Wah goes to Exp 1 and Volume to Exp 2. Try matching that in your setup. Why do you have the volume at only 0-10%? Will you even hear a difference with a 10% change or was that a typo? Also, make sure that you have the volume pedal on and the wah pedal off in the FX tab on HD Edit. That ensures that when you activate the FS, the volume function turns off and the wah takes over and vice versa. *Note that when you add a Wah FX Model to your tone, the "Position" parameter for the Wah is automatically assigned to EXP 1. Likewise, when adding a Volume or Pan FX Model, its Position parameter is automatically assigned to EXP 2. This will result in multiple items assigned to these EXP Pedals if you already have existing Pedal assignments. For all Factory Presets that already include a Wah, Volume or Pan, these are typically already assigned as well. You can change these Pedal assignments, and/or create your own for other FX parameters - read on!
  7. try a vol pedal in each path after the split, both set to zero, one on, one off. Go to controllers tab in HD Edit and assign them both to the same FS, no expression pedal assignment. Now when you hit the foot switch, the one that is on will not allow any signal to pass so the volume pedal actually acts as a gate. The one that is off allows the signal to pass with no effect. Hit the switch again and it swaps. Only good way I know to do it with a FS. Maybe the experts have a better idea.
  8. Yeah the search function is still not working all the way... Floyd-gasm is still there but does not come up with any searches... http://line6.com/customtone/tone/208606
  9. thanks bro... probably right. Just play the damn thing and quit trying to figure it out. I mean it, I am going to lay off the help and advice and let our resident experts chime in instead. I will keep my separate patches too. I still have one more piece to get to complete my FRFR rig and I will decide then if I am going to keep both.
  10. yes, in the models, be able to choose the topology... not for L6 link use, for FRFR use with just modeling.
  11. do they sound like modeled amps going FRFR when that option isn't even available? hmmm... I mostly prefer topology III... I made a suggestion on idea scale to enable topology modeling in the full amp models...
  12. BFD... I rarely use any more than one configuration anyways... maybe we'll find out later that's all done pre power section anyways... psyche... modeled relay switching...
  13. For a long time after the last firmware update we were all I was under the impression that unlocking the POD master in L6 link freed us up to jack the DT master and load the power section while we decreased the pre section output. In reality all that jerking off was a waste of time since both masters attenuate the pre section out before hitting the power section. Might just as well leave either one maxed and control with the other. We are not changing the power section one bit, only the signal being applied to it. As far as the other thought, obviously not connecting with L6 link, just going from the left 1/4 out into the FX return and staying in Studio Direct. Basically just gives me a straight tube power amp. I can use the switches to set it up the way I want and just use all the FRFR patches without having to make special DT ones. I am just really tired of trying to figure out how this thing is really working, having to jump back and forth between multiple manuals for snippets of info that sometimes seems to conflict, only to find out that isn't what's actually going on anyways... and finding out a lot of what I thought I was helping others with was pure lollipop...
  14. so I guess I have wasted a lot of time on this bulloney... I might as well just go from the left 1/4 out into the FX return and out to my PA speakers in Studio Direct and not have to worry about making different patches for the DT. All that lollipop about setting the DT master and the POD master to get power amp distortion a total waste of time... not to mention I no longer believe half of what I read so I am going to stop trying to give advice or help. All you Line 6 Experts can step up to the plate... Really Line 6, publish the block diagrams and signal flow so we can stop trying to figure it out...
  15. nothing, zippo, nada, sweet lollipop all... perhaps our undying respect and praise if it's actually something worthwhile...
  16. that totally lollipop sucks balls... so the DT master does the same thing as the POD master, just controls the signal level being applied to the power section... What about with the POD hooked up by L6 link? you mean to tell me we are just adding 2 master volumes to the same signal before it hits the power section? So its just a fixed level tube power amp being driven by a variable preamp signal... totally lollipops with my understanding of how this beast works... I am not a happy camper right now... WTF did they bother unlocking the POD master for with the last firmware update? Doesn't make sense...
  17. actually just download them and drag them into HD Edit for HD500 and then save them. They will work just fine. ;) even better... if you notice the last file ends with .5xs. That is a complete setlist of all the patches. Download it and double click on it. When it asks you what program to use, select HD Edit and it will load all the patches at once! Now just save them into a new folder and you are good to go...
  18. absolutely disagree. the master volume is for the analog power section. doesn't even make any kind of sense otherwise. I agree it needs more investigation but it definitely doesn't come before the FX loop and doesn't affect the digital signal. Other wise you would need the power section to be driven full blast at all times and simply be varying the strength of the preamp signal being applied. Doesn't work that way...
  19. gotta love this dream rig... best ever for straight electric and pretty damn good for acoustic too when set right... still waiting for one new piece of gear to be released this year... still need a great FRFR solution but not dropping $800 for an L series... never even seriously considered the AMPLIFi...
  20. I am no midi guru but reading the manual I see you can set the POD to enable the reverb and all its parameters on the DT. Seems to me that would be another good way to free up DSP as you can hand off all the heavy lifting to the DT for the reverb effects. You can also set up your POD to change amp and cab models by midi too and free up DSP. I guess you are using the channel B amp default? The only problem is the knob settings don't change... I am happy using the POD for all that but I might try the reverb idea...
  21. not at this time. as is states in the article, Line 6 actually enabled the capability in the firmware update so until they do something similar with the POD HD series there is nothing for us to build off of.
  22. I was going over some of the ideas on ideascale and came across a request for Variax wireless solution. I think that is an awesome idea and definitely needed for JTV's to be fully embraced by the professional performers, especially on the bigger stages. Interestingly, I also saw this link discussing an actual Line 6 unpublished feature built in to the Vetta II. Apparently they enabled a wireless variax feature during one of the firmware upgrades that enabled the Vetta to make Variax changes over wireless. It wasn't a complete 2 way communication solution but it certainly opened the door and showed that Line 6 themselves were at one point working it. Why on earth they haven't exploited that ability with the POD HD series is just beyond me. Anyway, here is the link to the Vetta info. If you think its a good idea go over to ideascale and vote it up... http://vettaville.nl/pagmore.php?id=166 http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Wireless-VDI/490019-23508#comments
  23. it's the nanny software that converts any curse words to lollipop.. buncha lollipopping mother lollipoppers...
  24. the +18 box is only for recording, it boosts the USB signal into your computer. As shown earlier it is set in the Line 6 audio midi devices properties box in the computer, not in the bean. Active pickups may have a noise issue compared to passive pickups. As noted there is no pad switch like on a HD500 to compensate for the hotter signal. Is mic the only option for input 2 other than same? If not pick a different one, anything. What happens when you put a Noise Gate as the first FX block? That may be your best option or put a studio EQ in first and turn down the gain. Does the noise go away or get better?
