  1. you have to use workbench and the pod, and physically alter and store the tunings on the model.
  2. so did you flash the update when it says that? because that's probably a good idea.
  3. yes, the mobile amp uses the models from the pod 2.0 not the HD
  4. there is nothing to get/download or install... the models will just be unlocked in pod farm
  5. congrats, a nice little setup! (although not sure it qualifies as "little" in any way shape or form!) would love to see how your pickguard came out... i have the black 59, and i pretty much hate the color... boring as crap. but oh well, it was hard to get your hands on any of them when i bought mine.
  6. that's where you aren't getting it... the DT isn't modeling ANYTHING power amp wise... it rewires itself internally via relays and other gadgetry to become the real deal.... sure you can put the fully modeled power amps through it.... but there is a reason why some amps cost a small fortune....because they don't all sound the same. just like solid state doesn't sound like tube... etc etc... you can surely get a good sound from a singular amp... but the DT gives you options... far more options than real world... because you can change the pentode/triode class A/AB to something besides what the original amp came with.... this allows you to find YOUR sound, as well as the classic sounds of the originals and the many players who used them.... it's sound though... noone can really tell you... you have to hear it.... the DT amps are awesome.... but it's not the only awesome... you can twist the knobs and come up with something useful using many power amps, and they'll be good at this or that... the DT amp has the capability of being good at this AND that....
  7. The 500 models are probably the oldest models made. Sorry to hear of your issues though.
  8. The default selections in the dt amps DO use cab models so you will want to use them if you are trying to get the dt standalone sounds
  9. the amp always works in real time by the knob position on the front, unless being used with midi or a pod.... it's not your typical modeling amp.
  10. no, only the mobile in and sonicport from line6 will work with the mobile app
  11. if you buy a NEW ux2, it will have a pod farm 2+ license with it yes. as to whether or not your old UX1 has a 2+ license, much depends on the dates purchased etc... but as a general rule they have a pod farm 1 license permanently etched in their memory... and pod farm 2, is more often than not a paid upgrade.... (HINT: none of the redface models came with a 2+ license) because pod farm 2 didn't exist when the majority of the interfaces where sold. but trust me... there's not much resale value anyway, and very few people would factor that in. (sure, they'll be some) i can and have picked up UX1's on craigslist for 20$... seriously... after gas money and hassle... i wouldn't factor resale in as much help towards the cost of the UX2
  12. why not just sell the ux1 as is, and keep the license? the new owner gets pod farm 1 with it anyway... let them worry about their own upgrades. if the license is included with the hardware the hardware owns the license... not you.... you only own the license if you buy it separate from the hardware. so if you buy 40 devices then there are 40 instances of pod farm possible... if you buy 40 copies of pod farm without the hardware then there are 160 instances possible.... since each hardware independent license can be authorized on up to 4 devices/computers at one time.
  13. I can 100% confirm that they will not honor out of country warranties... seen it more than once... the authorized dealer thing is a little more of a grey area.
  14. the DT50/DT25 is actually alot of amps in one.... it re-configures the power amp to match the model selected... for example if you buy an AC30, and use that to play a JCM800 model... the power amp is still that of the AC30. the relays in the DT amps, will reconfigure the amp to match the REAL power amp (as in not its digitally modeled equivalent. you can also set up the DT amps standalone to become those amps with the latest update. it's a really well thought out integrated system... thats not to say you couldn't get decent modeled tones out of other amps.... that's just explaining why the DT amps themselves are special.
  15. Yeah, an AB switch the ABY part just adds the ability to choose both paths, which i guess the Y part doesn't apply here. it's basically so that you can still use the loop as an out for your acoustic... so yeah its an extra switch.
  16. sounds like you might need to put an ABY switch in the loop as well, so you can route your acoustic with the tap of a switch.
  17. its true that the warranty is only good in the country purchased. and all manufacturers typically require purchase from an authorized retailer... although i've never seen that policy enforced and i've bought many things from ebay. they could use that as a way out potentially, but generally i don't think they would as long as you had your receipt.
  18. you need to set and leave the master volume where you want it... and use the channel volume and gain, as well as everything else to get the volume where you want it...... then save.... this will allow the master volume to raise and lower the volumes of all your patches at the same time.... keep in mind though that you should set those tones at the volumes you intend to use them.
  19. you have to go to the license manager (its part of monkey and in the same folder in your start menu) and authorize the DI-G. gearbox is long unsupported, but pod farm (version 1) should have no issues.
  20. you can do any tuning you like... the 89 comes with different tunings out of the box, but it can do them all.
  21. No idea why it's like that, but you'd likely want to use unbalanced for an amp, and balanced for monitors, so maybe it's just that way in the context of the implied use?
  22. it can be used with either, for balanced use TRS cables. I use TRS to XLR cables for my monitors, but plain TRS works if thats what your monitors need.
  23. you're right about it using cabinet models, But i don't think it's a neutral speaker, it's easy enough for them to tailor the output to a known speaker. I'm reasonably confident that it's a guitar speaker with a common celestion equivalent, although i can't cite the specific model... just going by my vague recollection. If it was more neutral they surely would have built in some sort of neutral power amp variax/acoustic guitar settings. which they still probably should have done, being that the speaker has known characteristics.
  24. You're welcome, I know this issue (or perhaps a version of it if i'm incorrect) has been a major issue for some people!
  25. I don't think that the dry out works with the variax, because the variax is a digital input and the dry out is an analogue bypass out... (no analog in, no analog out) there is no extra internal D/A conversion available to convert the variax to analog.
