  1. only the HD models have preamp models... some of the metal pack are models from pod farm and never had a pre model. its perfectly acceptable to use the full models with your DT amp...
  2. only the line6 license follows the equipment... ableton and reason do not.... (and riffworks t4 is free anyway) i believe that all the pod studio models (black face, the red face models are toneports, not pod studio) come with ableton live lite, reason adapted, and riffworks t4.
  3. did you perhaps log in with a different account when you made the purchase? because that would result in your situation. you need to log the license manager into the account that you made the purchase with.
  4. not condescending in the least... if you're not able to effectively use the program (like 100's of thousands of others) and consider it to be buggy etc (your words not mine) then the models were clearly not going to help you... I do not work for line6, i'm merely restating your words.
  5. Don't wait too many hours or you'll miss the sale.
  6. Topology is that I II IIi iv voicing switch amp front.
  7. It's still a 2 channel amp. You can use a foot switch to go between the two channels. You can merely alter the default amp on the topologies. This won't give you 8 amps available in a live setting because the amps react wildly different to knob positions. It is not suddenly an 8 channel amp.
  8. you have to use the midi interface... and the easiest way is one of the 3rd party apps pinned to the top of theses forums... but you have to use midi otherwise.... step one get a midi interface (preferably m-audio UNO for most reliability) step 2 update to 2.0 step 3 download apps mentioned above... step 4 launch app.... step 5 select topology... step 6 use app to make changes you want to that topology step 7 repeat for any other topologies of your choosing.
  9. funny thing is i just traded a 62 reissue country gent myself for a gibson es-335 couldn't be happier! the Gretsch was a great guitar, and i miss the bigsby..but the 335 is just more versatile to me.
  10. if you dont see the purchase here: http://line6.com/account/purchasehistory/ , i'd guess that it didnt work.
  11. the activation code is likely some sort of internal line6 number for your license... no line6 licenses require that you use the activation code... just the license manager. it's confusing, but i think that's how the system was setup long ago.
  12. you're always using the full amps in low volume mode.... (at low volume there would be no tube breakup or much influence from the power amp anyway...) but yeah it's perfectly acceptable to use the full amp models even at volume if that give you the sounds you want... no rule about it really.... you do get a more authentic version of the intended amp using only the pre-amp model.... but authenticity to a specific amp isnt always the goal... the tone is the goal... in most cases. results will vary of course... keep in mind the ported models are not HD so they do not have the same detail.... doesnt mean they aren't useful... just means that the experience might be a little different.
  13. i'm certain they just have some sort of system to organize and route the inquiries to the appropriate person. seems normal to me! but i'm around it everyday... i do think some of these functions are buried on the site... even the forums takes some digging to get to...
  14. You can send it to them. Go to contact us link at bottom of the page and open support ticket.
  15. Log into the license manager with the same login you used to purchase the license. Should be straight forward.
  16. there's been no mention of it... there have been requests for pc and mac apps... which would probably cover the tablet... but no response. don't think it's likely... and if it is... don't think it's soon.... but that's just my best guess.
  17. did you try all the usual things... rebooting machine... change usb ports.... unplug everything from the pod except power and usb, restart pod... and of course try it on another machine... pretty generic for troubleshooting...
  18. the effects loop on the pod works on both amps.
  19. yes... except in case you didn't know... the models in the DT do use cab models by default... although you don't have to... but it is designed to use them from an authenticity standpoint. all of the deep edit parameters are missing on the non-HD models... they never had them.... and a few are missing on the JC120 which is an HD model... because those deep edit parameters are related to tube amps... which the JC120 was not.
  20. at least one person sorted this out... and i'm sure others have too... doesn't mean they posted it here.... and as you found out... the same solution doesnt appear to work for everyone.... line6 has a support team to help you. to learn more about what an expert here is, see the link in my signature... but no... i do not work for line6 or know everything about every issue.... i have however pointed you to the best resource to get help with your issue... and you can also call.... MUCH quicker, than a support ticket.
  21. line6 link is digital... the only thing you can do with it is plug it into a DT amp or stagesource speakers.... nothing else.
  22. assuming you have a pod the new HD models will work as expected... some of the new models are not HD though... and therefore do not have preamp models or deep edit parameters... you cannot use the new model packs with any DT amps... standalone.... (as in without an applicable pod)
  23. this thread was started over a year ago... you need to contact Line6 if you want help. http://line6.com/company/contact/
  24. rechecked the email and it looks like it was intended to cover all model packs... i fixed my post.... but dude simply doesnt like the program... and model packs wont fix that..... and besides 30% is a good sale! regardless of how little value this original poster places on the product.... for someone interested in the product... i doubt you'll see a better price.
