should still come with ableton.... and the t4 riffworks if you registered your previous version of ableton, you can probably even download an upgrade direct from them by logging in. don't use reason so i can't speak to those parts of your question.

i wonder if it works with those clown shoes! :D (old "inside" thread joke)

Make Your Variax Sound 100% Better
TheRealZap replied to katiekerry's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I picked one of those up.... for less than 10$ shipped and no permanent mods to the variax.. trying it seemed like a no brainer. probably the same place you got yours: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181390290221 -
Make Your Variax Sound 100% Better
TheRealZap replied to katiekerry's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
i beta tested those.... it was love for the first 15 minutes.... second day it was pure hatred. they had a clang like tone, were tense and more rigid than i liked. maybe i should have just tried the next gauge down.. (i was using 10's) this was on a regular telecaster and not a variax though.... they also had an oddly polished feel that i could never get used to as well. -
Mobile POD for Android?
TheRealZap replied to benjaminpaik's topic in Sonic Port devices / Mobile In
not likely. the amplifi app controls parameters over bluetooth thats quite different than mobile pod... which processes audio, apple whether you like them or not.. they are uniform... and androids can be very different from one to the next making development that relies on android hardware considerable more "variable" (and hence.... less likely....)- 1 reply

you got it... its a 1/4" stereo cable.. also known as a TRS cable (Tip Ring Sleeve) should be able to get them locally easy enough.... or order through amazon, monoprice, etc...
-
did you go to the m-audio site and get the drivers for the UNO... windows will recognize it and use it without doing so... BUT it will work like any other generic midi cable (as in sometimes it wont work at all....)

help error updating usb firmware to 1.04 on pod hd 500x

HAL stands for hardware abstraction layer, it's a driver folder where the drivers directly address the hardware. someone figured it out from one of the online support teams (happened to alot of products when yosemite came out)

nice! the button is just for amp or line level outputs... doesn't affect any processing on the pedal :)

Woooossshhh.......That was the QSC Touchmix
TheRealZap replied to davec69's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
i wish i owned an m20d :) for everything that it can do. 1. i said previously when you have people using these things for their income.... you have to be a little reserved and less eager to make updates. (your lucky to get any updates at all from some companies) 2. doesn't mean there won't be any... just that they havent yet.. (which is what you said...) 3. true... BUT keep in mind... companies usually buy other companies because they have good tech or ideas... Yamaha saw something they liked in keeping L6 running... if they didnt they would have absorbed the tech and shut it down. 4. I see lots of good chatter... i think it might help when they start coming out with more affordable options.... or even higher end options... just more options in general really :) thanks for keeping it civil.... i'd love to see more happening with the line... and i do believe that it will happen... eventually. -

TheRealZap replied to davec69's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
all of QSC's eggs are in the PA market basket... that's their sole focus what is it you know now that matters? seriously, just trying to drag something constructive out of this thread.... because this is all i hear.... it's a joke... NOT a personal attack... you have a GREAT mixer... and if you want that vibrant positive and growing community you have to be that community.... not the "where's my update" guy.... -
Massive feedback when plugging Pod HD Desktop into Amp
TheRealZap replied to Dougal1709's topic in POD HD
don't think its you... sounds like microphonic tubes to me. -
no hidden meaning in my comment at all.... i do know that they go into alot more depth than just how it sounds.... they have to model every control on the amp to make sure that it affects the sound just like the original... so that the end product should match their reference at every volume and every setting...
-
obviously NOT digital igloo.... but 1) models are not recordings at all.... and the process of actually modeling is a proprietary trade secret i doubt you'll get much detail....
-
you do know that the non HD amps that were included in those model packs were by request via ideascale.... that and it took quite a bit of work and testing to port them over.... not to mention a handful of low DSP use amps are GREAT if you want to experiment with dual amps without giving up the rest of your chain. furthermore... the vast majority of those ported over... were line 6 originals and not accurate models of anything.... and... those older models were never paired with M-series effects/cabs etc... just saying.... the sound quality does not stop and end with the origins of the model... i personally applaud their inclusion... options!

installing the new firmware 2.6 the global eq and variax doesnt appear
TheRealZap replied to rojitolijo2fg's topic in POD HD
The variax setlist will not appear if you keep you tones. The global eq is in the unit in the system menu. It will not appear in the software. -
not sure what amp you have... but yeah... some people dont like the latest spider firmware.... i believe 1.7 is the last version to feature the older models... you will lose alot of newer features and effects though.

you really don't know the DT amp at all... sorry... not saying that to be mean.... but the I/II/III/IV is not a channel switch and yes they do sound very different on purpose.... you should be able to get the same thing out of the L6Link... but you 'd really need to learn the amp a bit in order to grasp it. it's is a 2 channel amp... A and B. (standalone... nearly infinite channels if used properly with L6Link) the other designations are topologies and they are programmed with very different settings and preamps. again.... you aren't changing channels at all!!! and yes it will affect your tone... thats what it's for.
