KB 37 Pod Farm question
TheRealZap replied to grame's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
You can have and use both at the same time. You really don't have to have pod farm 2 installed. There are reasons to use both but they mostly pertain to use with the pod xt and x3. I'd just uninstall 2 or get a license. Sorry for the confusion. -
KB 37 Pod Farm question
TheRealZap replied to grame's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
yes, pod farm 2.x is not a free upgrade. -
there are no new setlists that take advantage of the new model packs if thats what you're looking for... just a new variax setlist thats entirely unrelated to anything else.
-
will work with both versions of the express pedal. not sure about the FBV4/2, not supported... but if i had them i'd try them, i dont think theres any harm as long as its an FBV device into an FBV port.
-
yeah it likely reserves the DSP for the outputs it will potentially work on... in order for it to work on other outputs... AKA usb/line6link.... it would probably have to reserve more DSP.
-
yes you should see it in monkey

JTV FW 2.21 - What's New In It?
TheRealZap replied to davidb7170's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
my 59 and 69 updated no problem.. no noticeable change either... but whatev's! haha -
imagine.... pod comes with nothing but a card giving you 20 effects and 10 amps.... the rest is pay for what you want.... love the idea... i'd love it more if you could say pay 20$ to subscribe to all the drive pedals and future drive pedals.... or whatever pedals, or high gain amps or vintage amps, etc... and a 200$ all now and future unlock all option because i know i want it all :D and the more this and that everyone buys... the more this and that they make! and universalize them.... meaning if you buy the JCM800, you get all the pre's and all the generations of it... pod 2.0, XT, HD. etc so an amp purchase might give you 10 new options. may as well dream big! aint happening.... but i'm thinking it has success written all over it.
-
its no different than putting one of the other eq's last in the chain... there is no wet and dry option over usb.... you can switch the spdif out to dry.... but not wet and dry.... you have to split the path and do L and R as wet and dry and then mono them in the DAW if you want both.
-
it would likely use DSP to accomplish that.... and if your going to give me any usb features... i'll take wet/dry over anything else.... theres no point in it over usb since you'd have plenty of eq options in your daw or plugins.
-
noone ever said it would be applied to the usb output.... not its intended use.
-
ok, so your computer is fine.... but the pod is stuck on the update flash screen? try powering the pod on while holding the direction key left. if there is no change try the same thing holding right. if it still comes up to the update flash screen, plug it back into the computer and attempt to run monkey again.... if monkey gives you an error unplug reboot machine... then plug into a different usb port and try again.

JTV FW 2.21 - What's New In It?
TheRealZap replied to davidb7170's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
i can confirm that's what monkey reports... but agree with silverhead that it doesnt seem right. -
there are actually many free models that were released for the pod hd's if you bought one early on.... it's easy to realize.... buying one later on.... it seems like they were all part of the package from day one. so it has happened.... but i certainly agree that the expectation for any company is to generate profit.

Where did my USB outputs go? (POD X3 Bean on Yosemite)
TheRealZap replied to PLSmax's topic in POD X3
the x3 isn't technically supported anymore, but you really need to log a support ticket or call tech support and let them know about your issue. http://line6.com/company/contact/ the forums here are great if a user discovers and shares a workaround etc.... (like for instance anyone try older drivers?) but end the end the forums are just other users that won't be able to affect any change in the current drivers. -
It's not fair to beat up the original poster here! :) it's his first post, welcome! it's a legitimate question, which i would like to see as well... however, it's not the way they've chosen to do business.... but imagine an app store with 5$ amps and 3$ effects.... would be great! especially with a "season pass" type option... where you could pay up front and get all releases in the subscribed category.... EPIC. but the logistics and amount of work required... as well as prospective revenue from doing this... must not have worked out in the accounting or technical departments.... and in the end, we have affordable bundles. anyway good idea! just not the way it's going to work out for the pod HD's.

TheRealZap replied to longhorns12's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting

Any good/free recording softwares?
TheRealZap replied to longhorns12's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
just for anyone else considering it..... i've tried a lot of DAWS on both windows and mac. mixcraft is the closest that one can get on a windows system to garageband on the mac.... and garageband is the easiest to use and simplest DAW i think you will find... made even better by the fact that you can grow into it's larger more robust brother "Logic" (which many of the benefits of logic come with mix craft as well) they give you a 30 day free trial and its worth exploring if you're in the market... the best DAW advice i've ever gotten... is stick with what you know... meaning that the feature set of most modern DAWS are very similar and once you are familiar with one best to get on with the music rather than being distracted by the technology in the various DAWS. i'm an IT guy by profession and go out of my way to be distracted by technology! haha so i may be the exception.... but early on in your search try at least a few and go with the one that fits your workflow best. (my advice) -
link doesn't seem to work for me! might want to double check it on your end.... if it works for you its probably fine and just some sort of browser issue on my end.

Just being an IT guy by trade i had to check for myself. I was able to update and tested the following things as working without any effort: hd pro x hd500 jtv59 jtv69 pod farm hd500 edit hdprox edit monkey workbench hd all the latest versions. my system late 2012 mac mini (yosemite) not denying the original posters issues... just saying mileage may vary, and things worked fine for me post update.

Is it OK to post items for sale on these forums?
TheRealZap replied to russgoos's topic in Line 6 Lounge
the main thing is that they don't want the forums used to drive traffic to other commercial ventures.... but personal classified ads, links and info are not a problem. it's a distinction in the terms of use on the site that has came up before and it's been clarified to us. any example of one of those commercial ventures, would be if you made custom pedalboards, cases, stickers, etc for use with line6 products and had a site... "pm me for details" would be great and you could give out your link to other users no problem... but publicly linking to "mycustomstuff.com" or whatever is frowned upon. because it may give the impression of company approval or endorsement... sorry i'm over explaining... i just know this stuff lives online forever, and you wont be the last to ask the question! good luck with your sale and i look forward to seeing your ad. -
