  1. L6LINK will work more like the stagesource... but will work with DT amps
  2. yes there will be an editor for the computer... but with the large screen... the only thing easier on the computer is naming the presets... (maybe moving presets around) it's very easy to use.... and the editor mirrors whats on the screen.. so they operate about the same.... and yes 1499$ is the footpedal version... the rack version is also 1499$ but does not work with the current floorboards... the helix floor controller is 499$
  3. The 1499$ is the street price.
  4. That's not finalized yet.... but more than the HD for amps and cabs... less than the M-series for effects so far... (around 70 effects)
  5. all models are completely new in Helix..... you get something completely different. so much info on the site, check it out...
  6. the rack unit is also 1499$ but does not work with the FBV floor controllers... new floor controller is 499$ that and much more info: http://line6.com/helix/
  7. New! all new... even the effects models. they are HX models... not HD yes power switch! ha!
  8. faster processors than the HD, and 2 of them! and plenty more.... the HD is sticking around too, for this reason i believe.
  9. they did a great job on that site too... looks great.
  10. It's pretty much everything people were asking for on ideascale! read through that and you'll see alot of answers to "What is Helix?"
  11. Solid. Really stands out in that context too.
  12. because you'll hear the input... enabling input monitoring allows you to hear the recording.. which of course will be a little out of time with the output.
  13. when recording you don't need to monitor the input... since you'll hear that anyway.... doing so doubles up the sound and adds that slapback. of course you want to monitor the output... its just the input you want to turn monitoring off on the track you are recording.
  14. you cant plug the guitar into a cat5 port anyway... it needs a specific interface or a pod.
  15. it worked... for him.... it worked for me... it's worked for countless others.... it does have risk... the HAL fold (stands for hardware abstraction layer) can hold critical drivers... only remove the avid ones... or other ones that you are familiar with and recognize that you don't need.
  16. sounds like you might have monitoring enabled when you're recording.
  17. you would probably just want to go mono into the instrument input and not the line inputs.. but it wont hurt anything... volume/levels just wont be right.
  18. I don't it's feasible at all.... that's not to say it's not possible... but in practice, i believe that you won't really get what you're looking for. much easier to just get a pod HD.
  19. yes, but that wouldn't likely work in any kind of live environment.. since each amp reacts very differently to the controls... the main thing is that you can select whatever you want on channel A and channel B for when you are using the amp by itself. it's best not to think of it as being able to pull up 8 amp models.... you can select all 8 of your choices from the front of the amp... BUT trust me when i say... you'll be adjusting them to taste and not likely be satisfied with what you'd dialed in from your previous selection.
  20. Well I know for a fact that the HD amp models in the model packs are new. so that puts the whole premise of your argument completely moot. but can you get close with other models? of course... people have been coming up with an alternative JC120 sound since the HD was released... because we all wanted it! if it's not worth it to YOU... yes YOU... it's completely within your rights to request a refund. does it really matter what the rest of us think on this matter? ... but know that you've not been cheated. period.
  21. Your computer speakers need to be connected to the pod. It's normal to have no sound if your speakers are connected to your computer.
  22. you have to change the output mode to studio if i recall correctly.
  23. apparently it's just not the product for you... you clearly don't enjoy it, regardless of how many great tones you've gotten you still think that it warrants your general (as in non specific) complaints. it is what it is... a very mature product... to expect it to be anything else at this point isn't very realistic... calling me all the names you want or disparaging my participation here isn't going to change that.
  24. just go here and download the update outside of monkey: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=3143
