  1. mixcraft is the easiest for windows. Free trial and only 75$ to buy. Latency depends on pretty much everything. But it's mostly manageable and nearly unnoticeable on most modern setups.
  2. Try a different midi interface. The most reliable are the m-audio uno. Sounds like your current interface is nice. But sometimes interfaces just don't work as well as the uno does. That's what line6 tends to test with internally as well.
  3. Seems sweetwater is the preferred L6 retailer these days based on variax deals of late etc. I bet the might get a good stock allotment early. But just a guess. No real info.
  4. the scribble strips over the footswitches are very well labeled, big bold and high contrast in foot edit mode. you literally just step on what you want to change, and then step on + or - that's the simple version, and it doesn't get a lot more complex from there.
  5. You can edit it hands free using the footswitches. And there will be software. I personally wouldn't want either of those things you requested. Just not worth it given the likely change in cost and their limited usefulness to me.

  7. It doesn't do that, but you can copy the blocks and paste them from one tone to the next.
  8. So i could perform an exorcism by hitting +1 good to know... if i catch you on a bad day i can expel the demon!
  9. This isn't particularly a plea for just the current DT amps... more about the L6Link functionality that is enjoyed by those DT amps... and perhaps any future amps.
  10. I think you would be okay, taking it that way... he did say "year of the guitarist" at some point. :) I'd be shocked if there was anything more top of the line... but then again... Digital Igloo is a magician and makes stuff happen :D
  11. No, that primarily means that you can record to the iOS device with your iOS apps.
  12. the presets will be all new... no compatibility with HD presets. no conversion... and i don't think they are done... so cant so who will do them or how many or any other details.
  13. 1. kind of sort of yes and kind of sort of no.... there are no output modes... but yes you can send different things out different outputs... as in omit the mic emulation on your amp feed but include it on your FOH feed. 2. same basic operation currently... BUT it's not done yet... and you can disable it, it's stereo (60sec) or mono (120sec) and you can place it anywhere you want in your signal path.
  14. They are still working on it... I can't say anything definitive on it at the moment.
  15. well so far they've only promised a specific number of amps and not specific ones... so they could change them... or come out with more etc... I think that Digital Igloo is compiling a list suitable for release... he wants to make sure that all the copyright disclaimers and acknowledgments are properly notated.
  16. the release features are locked, which is why the product can be shown as is... doesn't mean that there aren't bugs and use cases to look into.... (or continued development into post release features...)
  17. yes there will be a computer based editor.
  18. essentially it's in beta mode... the hardware has been excessively engineered, and most things in it are digitally controlled so they can be changed after the fact.
  19. It's designed... doesn't mean its not still be tested and finalized... but like all the pod's before it.... things can be changed and improved over time....
  20. i'd guess like you, that it would be to do with routing the various streams etc... but DI would likely be able to correct me, as it could be me that misunderstands... but being able to do 4 amps etc.. its gonna need those SHARCS!
  21. not true... the SHARCS are for audio... there is a seperate MCU just for the UI
  22. I don't think they did it as any sort of marketing conspiracy... they are just getting away from all of their Java based software packages... i'm not sure that they even have a java developer on hand any more... and even if they did... upgrading it would reset the clock and force them to support it for longer.... they are slowly changing ALL their software... in fact.... a little tidbit.... Helix does not use Line6 Monkey! not saying i disagree with you... it seems like a minor thing and should work... but in the larger picture... for them at least... it didn't make sense. i'm honestly surprised that noone has edited up an .ini file from workbench HD to try and make the original workbench recognize through a 500x don't know that it would work... but if i still had my older variaxes... i would have tried.
  23. in case anyone missed it on the other thread.... nice review/overview... goes through some of the menus and models. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=619&v=yAGDCCdWjoQ
