Not trying to start a negative aspect to this thread.... but i was thinking that it might be a good thing if people not only voted FOR the ideas they like... but also voting against the ones, where they feel the time might be better spent on other ideas... this will help the ideas you agree with, and more strongly support, float to the top.

never met a PRS i bonded with... no thanks.

the link in your post was wonky... but i got the right link and sorted it out... all good, thanks!

not even that... i just added the link to vote to the first post in this thread. :) along with lots of other great ideas... and some.... uh ideas ;)

Gearbox is no longer supported.
-
uh.... don't upgrade. there is no solution, and no fixes coming to gearbox.... perhaps you can mess with the settings on your computer, figure it out and share the results? try compatibility mode for example... no idea what changed or what might work.... and not intending to make anyone mad... just letting you know... that the software is no longer supported or updated... any "fix" will come from the community of users such as you and me... not from Line6 sorry...

Same experience as Phil. Of course there's a lot of specifics that you guys will want to read up on for sure. :)

yes, model packs are only supported on firmwares 2.6+

added.

i'd rather they just offered an original amp pack or suite of amps... that were tweaked from bits and codes of everything to simply make amazing amps that do not exist... basically take all the flaws of the original amp models out... and push the boundaries... no reason to be subject to accuracy of any name mainstream or boutique or whatnot. in fact i just submitted the ideascale: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/New-Original-Amp-Models/772434-23508?submitted=1

modeling world is a little different than just the "here's a pile of effects" world.... for example... if the model of X effect sounds great... but is found to not accurately reflect the source.... then yes that should change... the company advertised a model of X, and consumer expect it to behave like X sometimes that will change the tone of the effect.... (or amp or whatnot) it has happened in the past... and Line6 has even bought back the defective original model due to user request (pod HD uber\elektrik being the referenced example) if you don't want your sounds to change at all... don't update... line6 allows you to downgrade too, so you have that option after the fact (sony/apple famously do not allow such) i'm not going to allow something as silly as a minor tone change keep me from the new technology\features\models or whatever... i'm a big boy... and i'll turn the knobs and tweak until i get something pleasing.... or as close to that original sound as i desire. and likewise.... i DO NOT want the company locking things down and refusing to make corrective tweaks because some dude somewhere doesn't want the fix.
-
obviously, i don't speak in any official capacity on the matter... but i suspect that they will add effects, since they seem really open to any user suggestions.... i'd encourage everyone to individually suggest effects on idescale and then vote them up.... make sure the ones you want the most... get a higher priority.

they are never going to promise updates for a set length of time.... many factors would go into any potential updates.... including how many of them sell... judging from the many statements that include the term "at launch" it is implied that there is more capability, more potential, more ideas, and a desire to do more... that's as official as you'll get. someone who buys one in 2 years will also want "updates" (a vague term for whatever...) but they'd probably have a few updates available on purchase that they wouldn't factor in.... i think you'll find even without "updates" that helix will stand up nicely against anything else in the market. feature wise untouchable. in my experience they are very much on the right track, and it will be noticeable.

the referenced thread and variax sharing forum is unofficial and graciously provided by one of the fellow forum users. there will not be an official sharing portal for variax tones.... if you want such, vote it up on ideascale... but with variax having been out over a decade, if they were going to do it.. it would be done. ideascale, is the way you change their minds....

the biggest difference in the 69 v 89 is the different alt tunings.... not sure if you've noticed that.

Woooossshhh.......That was the QSC Touchmix
TheRealZap replied to davec69's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
big difference between an employee of the company responding to a post and one of the experts here... we experts are simply knowledgable users... meaning we don't know what they are working on... might decide to work on... etc.... the dates on those posts were likely over 6 months to a year old... i'd say that even if they came out with an android app tomorrow... the response was accurate... it's clearly stated what support exists for the device...with no promises of anything other than what's clearly stated. -
Is anyone really happy with there Jtv?
TheRealZap replied to capdoogie's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I've owned at least 4 of them, and don't have any issues with them at all. so yes, count me happy. -
it should be noted that there are no officially supported drivers at this point... i'm glad to see that some users have had success with the pod HD's i'm just adding this information, because there is a post from toneport/pod studio users that are NOT able to use their devices with the current drivers... if you have one of those and they are important to you... you should wait for supported drivers.
-
well you were not able to activate until pod farm 2.x came out and they started using the license manager. before that, the software required line6 hardware or an ilok, so piracy wasn't a big issue, because the software would only work for someone with the actual product. so despite your long term use of line6 products, much of that time does not factor into your current activation issues.
-
it's really only 10 times before you have to call... they are happy to help you.... the limit is to prevent someone from giving out their login online and everyone having the program for free... which would mean that line6 would not get paid for creating their software.... which would mean that line6 would stop making software... most people will never see the limit... either because they stick with the same machine... or they switch products etc.... in any case, the minor inconvenience of a call or support ticket and all will be well.
-
you have to install it 10 times to hit that limit... if it's just purchased then that's a very odd situation... however the fix is easy... call or submit a support ticket: http://line6.com/company/contact/ calling is the quickest (monday through friday 9 to 5 pacific time) a ticket can take 3 business days... its not a lack of critical thinking etc... most software companies have some scheme or another to protect their intellectual property.

yes 2GB is the largest it will use.
