  1. You need to connect your speakers to the pod and not your pod to your sound card. The pod becomes your sound card.
  2. Not unless you buy a pod farm 2 license. The license that came with your UX2 requires your UX2
  3. NO.... in fact you don't own pod farm or gearbox at all... the license is owned by your UX2. and you of course own your UX2 they also no longer support the gearbox plugin... you should be able to get pod farm 1.x for free. if you purchase a standalone pod farm 2.x license you will own it... and you won't even need an ilok to authorize it. it can be authorized through the line6 license manager.
  4. there is no known/acknowledged bug with windows 7 and the amplifi utiltity... the nature of your error sounds like you have a firewall or internet security software enabled and blocking access.
  5. only if you buy a separate license... the pod farm license that came with your UX2, belongs to your UX2.... if your UX2 goes away.... so does your license.... just letting you know that, so that you don't end up finding out after you change interfaces and pod farm quits working on you.....
  6. no, but you can switch between 2 paths within a single preset and preserve them.
  7. Now you're just being rude.... you've already been told in so many words that Helix is not going to do what you want.... they are not going to re-engineer the entire platform for you.... so i suggest that you leave your own futile thread, because this is just not the product for you. what you are wanting doesn't exist and if it ever exist will be an entirely new device.
  8. it would be 1800$ with that option. it's WAY more than a color screen.
  9. not to discourage you in your search.... but maybe... just maybe... this simply isn't the product for you. i wish my ford was a ferrari.... but it's a ford. i obviously don't know the engineering behind Helix... but reading between the lines, i think it's been implied that it's simply not designed for true bypass... because the more common use case doesn't require it... what you want is another product.... i do think that you'd get more mileage and more supporters if you simply had your ideascale request to be a helix version of an m13 or whatever... seriously... be specific with what you want.... take helix and remove everything you won't use... and your idea is whats left plus true bypass if there's truly a pro demand for it.. you'll get the votes and consideration due at Line6 then when the product for you actually does arrive... it should cost considerably less without the amp models etc.
  10. check out some of the 3rd party editors listed in this post: http://line6.com/support/topic/124-user-created-dt-editors/
  11. well yeah... backing up etc... because obviously backing something up to itself has limited benefit.... and a handful of other things.... but the editing software is going to be as close to the device operation as they can get it... so i think you'll find that most things will be just as easy... either way....
  12. I've used both and i completely disagree with you.... I think that alot more information about the floor editing function needs to be out there before you can form an opinion on it... maybe it won't change your mind... but making up your mind with minimal information either A: doesn't do you any favors B: makes you an american voter and FYI "off the floor" will be available for mac/pc
  13. well... the ideascale vote is at 35 now... which i think is a good showing... http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/DT-amp-compatibility-for-Helix/726817-23508?submitted=1 my insight is this.... kind of obvious though... ideascale brought us the helix... AKA everything we wanted.... no reason to believe that it can't put this through as well.... i do believe that some version is possible, if they can demonstrate (through ideascale) that it's desired then they will likely get the resources they need to make something happen... both myself and DI have voted for this... I think that demonstrates the desire is there...
  14. NONE of the global settings for the pods are available in EDIT.... that's normal.
  15. it"s one of those things thats supposed to help keep your batteries from dying... meaning with the cable unplugged, it's simply turned off. glad that was it. :) having the 1/4" plugged in also helps you to hear your changes :)
  16. pretty sure he meant XLR outs
  17. you need to contact line6. noone else can help you. http://line6.com/company/contact/
  18. used (or even new ones for that matter) toneports never came with a pod farm 2.x license... you'll need to use pod farm 1.x SOME (not all) pod studios did come with the license... redface=toneport=no license blackface=pod studio=maybe license... but unlikely if it's not working after license manager.

  20. A helix only dt firmware would be great. Perhaps hard to maintain since it would break HD and people would want it for standalone use. Either way I'd like to think that the big brains at L6 can come up with some sort of way. Just a direct path to the power amp and some midi to configure it. Let the helix do the heavy lifting... Seems crazy simple but good enough for most.
  21. You just enable the edit mode and the lcds above the footswitches change to effects and amps. Select the one you want to edit and the change to parameters. Select that and then click the footswitches that say plus and minus to make changes. Then save or exit via another footswitches or go back and select something else to edit and repeat.
  22. Manual will be on included thumb drive.
  23. Not true. The editor is simple commands. Lots of interfaces can do that but are not robust enough to flash. Happens with those 5$ eBay cheapie midi interfaces all the time.
  24. Would most likely work. It probably just needs that max draw to boot up. But should be fine to try.
  25. The pod HD does not come with any pod farm licenses. If you had another pod with the license you need that pod plugged in because the license belongs to the pod not you. If you sell it the license goes with it. If it breaks the license goes away.
