Well it's FRFR that Line 6 recommends, not just "FR"... That's to say you need full range, flat response, not just flat response. So, yes, a 12" PA-type speaker may be flat response, but it's not going to be full range. The new Line 6 Powercab has a 12" woofer with a coaxial high frequency driver. Now even in it's FRFR voicing, it's not a true FRFR like, say the L3t is, but it still gives a much broader frequency response than just a single 12" speaker.

Open up a support ticket: https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html

There are tons of bug fixes, including MIDI bug fixes, coming in the 2.60 update, so I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about this weird behavior right now. Line 6 is aware of this stuff, and it will be dealt with very soon.
-
That is freaking weird... I've never heard of anyone having that sort of thing happen. I can't even fathom how such a thing would be possible. What type of computer and OS are you using?
-
Yes, that should be how it works. Typically, how I record in Reaper is I'll record wet and dry tracks simultaneously. The wet track is using USB1/2 as the input and the dry track is using USB7. I never hear the dry track through the Helix this way.
-
What USB inputs are you using for the track in Ableton? If you use USB7, that isn't monitored by the Helix, so you won't hear it through the Helix itself. It won't matter what you have in the actual Helix preset then. You can just mute everything in the preset by putting a volume block in it and turning it all the way down.

Some people post clips in this forum: https://line6.com/support/forum/12-share-your-settings/ But people post things here, too. It's just that sort of stuff doesn't tend to stay at the top of the forum for very long. Here's a running playlist I created of demos and/or songs I've recorded with the Helix.

If the driver isn't installed, HD Edit won't work... I'm not sure what the next step should be, to be honest. I would suggest opening up a support ticket: https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html

Have you installed Line 6 Monkey on the new iMac, and, if so, does it see the HD500X?
-
I would try just hitting a bunch of times before you do anything else. The footswitches are self-cleaning, so if there's some sort of debris in there causing problems, you may be able to get it out. If that doesn't work, I'd open up a support ticket before opening it up yourself. Even though your Helix is out of warranty, they may still help you out.

I don't really like terms like "organic" when it comes to describing tones, because, well, no one but the person saying it actually knows what it means... But I can honestly say that the Helix effects are so good that I haven't really had the desire to buy any new pedals in a long time. The one exception to that is that I've bought the new Meris pedals, but that is more because I want to support what those guys are doing, and I think they are pretty unique products... I don't really need them, though. Are far the Helix being sophisticated, I'd say it can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. If you only want to treat like a bunch of stompboxes, you can do that. If you want to do the more complex things, it's actually very simple once you understand the basic concepts. As far as support, it's readily available. Besides here, Line 6 employees hang out on other gear forums such as The Gear Page, and there's a huge Helix Facebook group with over 14,000 members.

You can control the PC via MIDI from the LT, yes, but you have to program the LT in order to so. You can change IRs, presets, cabs, etc. from the LT, but you'll need to decide how you want to do it. The easiest way would be to change presets on the PC along with presets and/or snapshots on the LT. You could do that by setting up one Instant Command in the LT preset, and set the PC# to correspond to whatever preset you want to call up in the PC. If you're more adventurous, you can change other things by sending MIDI CCs. If you don't have a lot of familiarity with MIDI, though, you might find that a bit intimidating.
-
You'd want to use HX Edit, not PC Edit. Then you'd want to edit the Command Center settings for the LT there.

I'm a little confused as to where PC Edit is coming into play here. Do you have the Powercab connected to your computer with a USB cable?

XD-V35 - Affected by FCC Claim on 600hz?
phil_m replied to ZachATCatalyst's topic in XD-V Digital Wireless Microphones
You've answered your own question... well, kind of :-) The XD-V35 operates in the 2.4GHz range, so, no it's not affected by the 600MHz issue. It's in a different frequency band. -
Update should be coming very soon... MIDI control will be part of it (along with a few other neat things).
-
Well, not trying to be a jerk, but it does say it... :-) ..."All Command Center assignments are stored per preset..."
-
Check out the HX Effects in Billy Corgan's and Jeff Schroeder's rigs from Fallon last night!
-
Yes, everything in the Command Center affects only the current preset (and snapshot, but if you're not using snapshots, don't worry about that).
-
The editor is called HX Edit. Just use the Downloads link at the top of the page, and it should show up. 2.52 is the latest version.

In the Send/Return block menu, there are four types of blocks you can choose from - Send, Return, mono FX Loop and stereo FX Loop. Like I said, I don't know why some people are using separate Send and Return block other than they may just be misunderstanding something. I sometimes wonder if they just didn't scroll down far enough in the menu to see the FX Loop blocks... Anyway, you just need one single FX Loop block.
-
You're talking about the Instant Commands, I take it. You don't assign them to presets... Each preset can have up to six Instant Commands. You just program them how you want them in each preset.
-
Right now, HX Edit only works as as preset librarian and IR loader for the HX Effects. Full editor capability will be coming soon.
-
If you want to use the 4CM, one block will always need to be an FX Loop (there is no reason to use separate Send and Return blocks). If you want to use the 7CM, you would probably realistically need two FX Loop blocks (although, you might be able to get away with one stereo FX Loop block, depending on what you want to do). But how often do you actually use 7 effects simultaneously? The thing with the HX Effects is each preset is a custom configuration of effects blocks, so you don't have to have every block in every preset. If you really feel you need more blocks, it might be worth looking at the Helix LT for a few hundred dollars more. On the LT, you can have up to 32 blocks, and you have twice the processing power as the HX.
