  1. Bypassing can block is all you have to do. You may hear a clicking sound or something when selecting different mic models, but it shouldn’t affect the overall tone.
  2. You need to install the latest version of HX Edit.
  3. If you have very different settings from one snapshot to another, you may get some audio artifacts. With the delays, you can eliminate the chirping that happens when you change delay times by going to Global Settings>Preferences>Tempo Pitch and setting it to Transparent instead of Authentic.

    Musta Got Lost

Are you positive? Are you running the latest version of HX Edit? In any case, do a factory reset by holding FS9 + FS10 while powering up, and then once everything is booted up again, do a Restore from Backup with HX Edit.

    Clipping DI in

The input pad does affect the DI signal. It’s an attenuation prior to the A/D converter.

  7. The XT Live came with the Effects Junkie pack. The Power Pack was included with the XT and XT Live. If you have the other packs on your unit and you bought it used, you’ll lose those packs if you re-flash.
  8. Did you buy the model packs or were they on a unit that you bought used?
  9. Well, you need ethercon ends. There are probably kits you can buy for them. Have you crimped Cat 5 cables before? It’s a huge PITA. Probably not worth it, imo.
  10. I don’t really see anyway that would work. I’ve not really heard sidechaining with MIDI in this way. Sidechaining is using the response from one audio source to affect the other, and with compression, the gain reduction is the thing that you’re applying to the source. Since there’s no parameter associated with gain reduction, there’s no way to have it triggered via MIDI. I don’t think tying other parameters to a drum kick would do what you want as the compressor would lag behind the drum hit.
  11. Weird. Have you tried doing a factory reset (hold down FS9 & FS10 while powering up)? Then do a Restore from Backup once you’ve done that.

    Clipping DI in

You might want to look at lowering your pickups a little. The Helix has more headroom than most digital inputs meant for guitar, so if you’re clipping it, you’d clip just about any sort of digital interface.
  13. There’s no real hardware difference between the two other than aesthetic things. You can essentially turn the original V30 into MKii by doing the firmware upgrade.
  14. The snapshot that loads when you load a preset is whatever one was active when you saved the preset. Not really any way around that.
  15. Did you do a Restore from Backup after updating? The update resets at least some of the global settings.

    Clipping DI in

Do you have the input pad on? Is the Bareknuckle an active pickup? If it is, you could try using the Aux In instead of the Guitar In.

    Clipping DI in

The only setting that will affect the level of USB 7/8 is the input pad. Beyond that, it taps right off the converter after the input, so if you’re track is clipping, you’re probably clipping the Helix’s input. Is the Input Block on the Helix lighting up red?
  18. There’s 10 slots on the tuning knob that you can set up with whatever tuning you want. Beyond that, though, you can store a custom tuning with each model in Workbench HD if you want. And then, further beyond that, if you’re using it with the Helix or an HD series POD, you can have the Variax tuning controlled by the presets in those devices. So really, the answer is kind of as many as you need, depending on how you want to use it.

    ASIO/USB Outputs

The output routing is all done on a preset per preset basis in the output block(s). Which outputs the headphone jack is monitoring is a global setting, though.
  20. This is by design. The issue is that once you assign a parameter to a controller, the value for that parameter that's saved in each snapshot will be recalled when you switch snapshots. So in that sense, snapshots will override controllers. The one exception to this are the EXP controllers. Under Global Settings>EXP Pedals, there's the EXP1 & 2 Position parameters. If you have them set to Per Preset or Global, the position of the expression pedal will override the value that saved in the snapshot. So one possible workaround might be to assign the Pitch parameter to either EXP1 or 2 and use the associated CC (CC1 or CC2) to emulate the pedal.
  21. The battery does drain slowly with a 1/4” cable plugged in even if the guitar is powered off. Technically, turning the volume down doesn’t turn the guitar completely off - it’s more like sleep mode. There’s a small idle current so the electronics can monitor when the guitar is brought back from sleep mode.
  22. This sounds like a sampling rate mismatch. It sounds like you’re recording the POD Go in 48kHz and it’s being played back in 44.4kHz. You’ll need to open up the driver settings for the POD and set things accordingly. The Voice Recorder app may only work with 44.4kHz.
  23. Where do you have it in your signal chain?
  24. That’s because you need to make the stomp assignments. There isn’t really anything equivalent to assigning bypass control to footswitches in Helix Native, so that information just isn’t there. On the HX Effects hardware, you can go in Signal Flow view and navigate to each block to set up the footswitches how you want them.
  25. You really shouldn’t have to change anything to get it to work. The SonicPort should just work as audio device for Skype. You should hear the sound through the headphones you have connected to the headphones, and the mic should act as the input.
