  1. You should not use a Y adapter. Use 2 cables that like this: http://www.zzounds.com/item--HOSCPR20 Or 2 adapters like this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GPR101?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PPC&utm_campaign=none&device=c&network=g&matchtype=&gclid=CNH24b7g57kCFUVp7Aodxk0AyA with 2 RCA cables. Then in POD Farm Select Line1 for Tone A and Line2 for Tone B and in the POD Farm mixer pan them hard L/R. Make sure you select Line6 UX2 ASIO as your device in the DAW.
  2. How are you getting your guitar into PT? The plug-in by itself does not capture the guitar recording.
  3. You can use the hardware independent POD Farm 2.5 on up to 4 computer/devices simultaneously. There is a lifetime limit of 10 authorizations. But if you use up all ten you can call Line6 or open a support ticket and they typically will reset this for you.
  4. If you are using POD Farm assign Line1 to Tone A and Line2 to Tone B and pan them hard L/R. If you are not using POD Farm you can select LINE 1 and 2 in the Line6 Audio-MIDI control panel.
  5. You could periodically back up you X3 as a bundle. You could also save your individual custom tones as files on your computer so if you did a factory reset you could load those, that could be a pain if you have a lot. But if I'm not mistaken, even if you change a preset you have to explicitly save it in the same location to overwrite it.
  6. Yes. Just run the L/R out of the Eventide into the UX2 Line1 and 2. But you will not be able to the guitar or mic input simultaneously with the Line In.
  7. In your DAW make sure you are selecting Line6 ASIO UX2 as your device. There should be a total of 4 inputs available from your UX2 to your DAW. If you are using POD Farm 2.5, there is a drop down to select instrument or mic for each Tone A and Tone B. In POD Farm's mixer view you determine what is sent to your DAW.
  8. Yep. Just use RCA to 1/4 cables or adapters . fyi...If you plug in headphones the master volume will control the output of the RCA outs.
  9. You can only use one input source at a time. This is from page 3 of the manual: Sonic Port supports one input source at a time. Use either the IN L/R stereo line input or the Guitar In (mono). If both are connected at once, the stereo line input will override the guitar input. If you are using Garage Band you can just import a song, or capture another source and then jam along with it. 10. Yes, I would open a support ticket to try and retrieve your original account, otherwise you will not be able to update you xt withou losing your model packs.
  11. Why do you want to deauthorize it? The Model Packs you purchased will always be tied to your account, so you will never lose them unless you "gift" them to a new owner of the xt. The License Manager is Line6's current method to authorize licenses, and allows you to use your Model Packs on up to 4 compatible devices/software. The your are asked to remove the purchases is because there is no reason to deauthorize your xt unless you are selling it.
  12. A purchase of a Line6 interface has nothing to do with an i-Lok license. If you want to use the POD Farm plug-in, all you need to do is have the UX2 recognized via USB. If you want to use the UX2 as an interface with ProTools, you may or may not be able to depending on your PT version.
  13. Not sure how you ran PF2 with the X3 unless you purchased an upgrade or you were running the limited free trial . Purchasing an i-Lok does not give you access to PF2, you need to purchase a license for PF2. The license for PF1 plug-in for your X3 is tied to the device. If you do purchase a license for it I would recommend the hardware independent version, not the i-Lok.
  14. If you use the 500 as your interface you should hear everything from your computer. Typically you should NOT enable the monitoring. If you do not want to hear other tracks in Cubase mute the tracks.
  15. I wouldn't over think it, if the 2.0 does it for you then go with it. The PODxt and POD X3 absolutely use A.I.R., and IMHO it is "beyondo" compared to the 2.0. There are way more tones you can extract out the xt and X3. But I've seen several other users post about liking the 2.0 more than the X3, most of them felt it had a warmer sound.
  16. The POD X3 uses a totally different algorithm to generate tones. Not sure how you transferred them from the POD 2.0 here's a compatibility chart http://line6.com/support/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=476
  17. I don't think what you describe is normal, some have had luck with the headphone out increasing the signal to noise. If you run the L/R out into an amp or monitors to you experience the same issue?
  18. Technically yes. To the OP, take custom tones as a starting point, there are so many variable that affect the final tone.
  19. Are you saying the POD is noisy going into these units, or are you saying these units are also noisy with no POD?
