  1. If the GX doesn't come with any additional model packs, it might not matter. Most POD Studios come with POD Farm 2 Standard anyways (tied to the device). It depends on the date it was first registered.
  2. AIR shouldn't have anything to do with it. But if you are sure there are no reverbs or other effects that might sound like reverb on the PODxt, and the reverb is not on on your amp, you could set the mic er parameter to 0% and see if there is a difference. Can you post a sound clip?
  3. POD Farm is not used to edit tones for the xt or X series, you would use Gearbox (or Edit) for that. The drop in output is likely due to different patch settings. You may need to adjust the channel volume and/or levels/gains of other effects. If you are recording via USB, you can set the PODxt Live to send the unprocessed signal to your DAW, while monitoring the wet. This option can be found in the Line6 Audio-MIDI Devices control panel. Then after recording you can add the POD Farm plug-in post processing.
  4. You can register the 2nd hand one. Any additional licenses you purchased separately will still be in your account.
  5. In depends. On some systems the UX will take over automatically. On a pc you can explicitly select the UX as the current sound device by going to the Sound Control panel. One way to get there is right click the speaker Icon, usually on the lower right in the task bar.
  6. There is no EQ in that patch. Or am I misunderstanding your question?
  7. Honestly, if you can get POD Farm 2 (assuming a hardware independent license) to recognize your Lynx I would go that route. That's a pretty nice card (but you're not going to get any word count through the UX's analog). But concerning the sample rate, if you're routing the UX's analogs to the Lynx, you're adding an extra A/D convesion, and IMHO, it would be very difficult to perceive the differences in sample rates, especially not in the final mix. But I know where you're coming from wanting to use the best possible parameters.
  8. If your flash mem is 1.x, your PODxt does not have USB functionality. You will need to flash using a MIDI to USB cable.
  9. There is no way to route the POD's cd/mp3 input to the USB. What is your backing track? Depending on what it is you should be able to import it into iMovie.
  10. If you use the POD HD, you need to connect your monitors, speaker and/or headphones directly to the POD HD. You should be able to hear everything. In the PC realm the POD uses ASIO protocols. With ASIO you can only have one audio device running. (There are some exceptions). With a Mac it uses Core Audio. I know with Macs you may be able to have aggregated devices, but I have no first hand experience with it.
  11. Can the newest version of Monkey see it? http://line6.com/software/
  12. If you run the newest version of Monkey, can it see it? Do you know which firmware you currently have? http://line6.com/software/
  13. What type of speakers do you have and how are they connected to the Toneport?
  14. Make sure you are using the newest Monkey http://line6.com/software/
  15. I'm guessing "Stereo Mix" is your computers intrernal soundcard. You need to use the UX as your soundcard, but I'm not sure how well it gets along with skype, I have seen users post mixed results.
  16. Did you purchase a license or do you have a Line6 audio interface?
  17. You would not be able to use the M-Audio and UX as your sound interface simultaneously, that is the nature of ASIO. You could use the UX to capture guitar, bot wet and dry if you prefer, and add the plug-in post pocessing. Yes, you can play back tracks previously recorded in your DAW while recording (if I am understanding you question), this should be the case with the UX or M-Audio.
  18. +1 to Zap.. Also, if it is for a Toneport/Pod Studio you can upgrade to POD Farm 1.12 for free.
  19. Is this a license that came with a Line6 interface, a software independent license, or an i-Lok license?
  20. The signal from your guitar is instrument level, so it will be low. If you have active pups it of course will be high. But if it is so low that you can not tune you A and high E strings, not , that is not normal. Do you have green ticks for everything if you run the Monkey?
