  1. it maybe due to the traffic of users hitting the servers all at the same time. Just a thought.
  2. Nope! Someone one the bug report page mentioned a similar thing. I point him at this thread, but I have not seen any response yet. https://line6.com/support/topic/16083-helix-bug-reports/page/53/?tab=comments#comment-358436
  3. Hi, If you just got your LT you can update directly to the latest firmware. Read very carefully and then simply follow, to the letter, the instructions given here. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Hi, Someone else posted a similar thing in the “Along came Poly” thread. Not sure if this is any help, but may be worth following.
  5. Hi Amahmood, The rebuilding of presets process is normal after the update to the firmware. However, it really should only perform this operation once to bring the presets in to line with the latest format. You will also see this happen if you load any of your older presets from a backup, or presets that may have been downloaded from Customtone. Once again, this is to upgrade presets. Some users report that the rebuild routine may get stuck on a particular preset number, but I guess your Helix is doing the full set. Possibly there is a glitch that is not retaining the info afterwards. You can force the rebuild process by holding down FS10+FS11 while turning on the power to you Helix. No guarantee it will make it stop the rebuild on the next power up, but worth trying. If this fails you could do a factory reset, or even try a re-install of the firmware. Most likely this is a simple glitch and nothing serious, but annoying if it happens every time you switch on. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. Hi, You do realise that posting this here is not enough - you actually have to post your ideas/request onto the IdeaScale site to be voted on. Find it here: https://line6.ideascale.com Ensure that nobody else has made the same request, and if they have you can vote it up. Afterwards you can post here in the correct thread to let other users know what you have asked for, and they can vote for it if they like the idea. https://line6.com/support/topic/14497-helix-ideascale-community-submissions/page/1/ Furthermore, all those poly effects got into the Helix, because they started out on IdeaScale. Also, just because a poly effect is in the firmware, it doesn’t mean that you have to use it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Absolutely nothing wrong with buying B stock, as I have done many times previously, just so long as you have a full warranty on the unit. If you have the guarantee on the Rack, take it back and either get a refund or replacement. As it stands you have spent the best part of two days and a couple of dozen posts chasing round trying to figure out if it is a software or hardware issue. If all your posts had been in one thread, rather than a scattergun approach, it might have been easier to figure out. The issue of the unresponsive joystick due to an earlier firmware update brought quite a few responses at the time, as did the problem of dry solder on some joystick connections way back in time. AFAIK, you are the only person to mention the problem recently. It could well be a glitch in the firmware, but it has not been resolved by re-flashing the Rack. Only other conclusion is a fault in the box, and if that’s the situation, then I am unable to try and assist you any further - hence, the “my work here is done” comment, and the “good luck” was because, you had mentioned that you were not too happy with the dealer you purchased your Rack from. Until you get it in to be checked by an engineer, you still have a pristine boat anchor. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. This is looking more and more like a hardware issue - simple solution - get you money back, or a replacement. Damn - so many crossposts on this issue that I have only just seen that what you bought was a "B" stock item. My work here is done - good luck.
  9. Hi Gary, IIRC, I have seen this reported previously and the response was to the along the lines of “it is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release”. EDIT: Found it - The reply said. “This is a known bug that shows up if you’re using one of the preset views that shows 4 presets.” Plus this thread Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hello, once again, You haven’t said what your computer and Operating System is, but let’s try this. To Re-flash the Helix Rack. O.K. go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select Helix Rack, then leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" as is, now select your PC/ Mac Operating System from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click the “GO” button. From the next page you can select the Firmware 3.0.00 Flash Memory for your Helix Rack, then below that you will need the HX Edit 3.0. Now scroll further down the page a get the Line 6 Updater version 1.19. Download all these bits to your PC/Mac. First install HX Edit 3.0 (including the required drivers) and if you have made any presets that you wish to keep then they need to be backed up using HX Edit before updating the Firmware. If everything is fine then proceed to next step. Ensure that HX Edit is closed and that you have your Helix Rack connected to your PC/Mac by USB cable (do not use a hub) and launch the Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your Helix Rack and current firmware version should show in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select the local file - point it at the Flash Memory file that you down loaded previously and let it get on with the update. Hope this helps/makes sense EDIT: If you can’t find the Line 6 Updater 1.19 simply go back and select it from the “-ALL SOFTWARE-“ option.
  11. moonshine2015, You are still continuing to cross post this issue, and it is getting tiresome to keep tracking you down to find out if you have done anything about solving this problem by following the solutions previously supplied. First try the Factory reset options and/or re-flash the firmware. If this is a hardware problem raise a Customer Support ticket. In this latest post you say it is under warranty and other posts that it brand new as an early present - have it fixed or replaced.I Hope this, helps/makes sense.
  12. As you note, there are those who come in here seeking assistance, usually screaming that the Firmware has bricked (rarely actually true) their, Helix, Stomp, FX (delete as applicable), and are never heard of again. I often wonder what happens to them. Maybe gone over to brother Chad and the gang on FB, or quietly whimpering in a corner. Conversely, there are very many who are happy to be enlightened and go on to enjoy their music making, knowing that someone in here might have provided a solution. Someone generally can assist, even thought it can become tedious typing the same thing over and over again for the unwitting fools. There is a saying that nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. Stick around and find out how true that can be.
  13. Hi If you have tried and had no success with the ideas in the post above, then your best recourse is to raise a ticket with Customer Support and a least they will be made aware of this problem. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, Go to this thread and try what I suggested there. The OP in that thread said it worked for him. Same guy posted here. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. I know - I keep chasing around all your cross posts. I understand your frustration with your current situation, but cross posting becomes rather confusing. In one post you asked how to raise a ticket and I supplied that information, but I have no idea if you actually followed up on it Other than your posts, I have not seen any mention of problems with the jog wheel on the Rack unit caused by the new firmware. There was a spate of dry solder joints that happened with some of the early Floor units (happened to me), and various things about when the functionality of the joystick changed in an earlier firmware revision. Since then, nada, zip, zilch, zero. I noted that you said you Rack worked just fine until the v.3 update, therefore unless this is a catastrophic failure of the jog wheel, I would suggest that you try a re-install of the firmware, taking special note of the process for updating the Rack unit. Also, it might be worth doing a factory reset on your hardware. Here are the reset options: Helix Rack Since the rack doesn’t have footswitches, you’ll instead hold down a combination of the 6 encoders that are below the main LCD screen as you’re booting up. Button Combination Description ENC2 & ENC3 Reset globals ENC3 & ENC4 Restore stock presets and setlists ENC4 & ENC5 Restore stock presets, setlists, and IRs ENC5 & ENC6 Reset globals and restore presets, setlists, and IRs (entire factory restore) ENC1 & ENC3 Rebuild all presets ENC1 & ENC5 Clear all presets, setlists, and IRs ENC1 & ENC6 Will enter Update Mode (This feature is only available on firmware v1.06.5 and higher) Re: your comment about moderators- see the second black banner at the top of these forum pages: ”Why is Line 6 not responding???” Hope this helps/makes sense. Installation instructions - please note Rack model:
  16. Hi Niels, You didn’t say if this is happening on the hardware only, or the hardware is not registering changes made with HX Edit. If it is via the editor software, then please ensure that you are using version 3 of HX Edit. If the hardware is at fault, you could try a factory reset - try holding down FS2+3 while turning the power on to your Stomp. Note: this will erase any presets you have made. You can restore them from the backup you made prior to installing v3 firmware. HX Stomp Button Combination Description All 3 Footswitches Clears all presets/IRs FS1+2 Resets presets and IRs FS 2+3 Factory restore (globals, presets, IRs Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Ah, but in a different language system, it goes ABCDE -> Z which would be .dmg -> .exe -> .zip Line 6 is distributing across different platforms not just Windows. It’s a mystery! ;-)
  18. Hi, See my reply to the post you made here:
  19. Hi moonshine2015 Go to the top of this page and click on the menu item “SUPPORT”, on the next page click on the RED USER ICON between the Globe and Shopping Cart in the top right of the screen, note: you need to be logged in to your account for the red user icon to show or it will be grey. This will open a drop down menu and under the heading “Support” , the first item is Support Tickets. Click that and it will open the Support Tickets page. In the top right of the page click on the “OPEN NEW TICKET” button. Hope this helps/makes sense
  20. Hi, No, this is not possible with HX Edit simply because the editor needs to be connected to the hardware to function. As you only have the HX Stomp, that’s what HX Edit will detect and then you’re physically constrained by the DSP limits of having a single processor. This doesn’t happen when using Helix Native as it is designed to work beyond the constraints imposed but your hardware and can be configured to run all the features found in the bigger units. The Artist presets have been created to take advantage of the dual processors found in the larger units. There would be absolutely nothing to be gained by trying to rip out bits of the preset to run on a single processor - defeats the object of what the person who created the patch wanted it to sound like. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. Done, That’s a neat little feature that I hadn’t spotted in Native 3.
  22. Hi, First go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and leave the "-ALL HARDWARE-" as it is, then from under the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" select HX Edit, now select Mac OS from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click “GO”. From the next page you can select HX Edit 3.00 for your HX Stomp, then scroll down and click on the blue “GET DOWNLOAD” button. On the next page agree to the EULA and wait for HX Edit to land in your downloads folder on your Mac. Ensure that no other version of HX Edit is on your Mac (Applications -> Line 6.-> HX Edit) and run he installer. Just to make sure, restart your computer and HX Stomp. That should do it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi again, vanilla, The .dmg is a Mac disc image file that opens on the desktop to install the software. The .exe file is a Windows executable file that installs the software. The .zip is a cross platform self extracting compressed archive of files. Hope this helps/makes sense (but as it's you vanilla, I will expect more weirdness)
  24. Only people who didn't update HX Edit to version 3. Hope this helps/makes sense
