  1. AFAIK - this impedance setting topic has been discussed previously - even as far back as May 2016, with many similar responses. FYI.
  2. When it comes digital audio over USB the best practice is to keep cable runs as short as possible. 10 to 20 feet may be fine on your printer, but not worth the grief with music gear.
  3. Using HX Edit, select the preset that you are using/having problems with and save it on your computer, somewhere you can easily find it. Then use the "Reply to this topic" box at the bottom of this page and then you can choose to "Drag files here" or click on the option to "choose file", then navigate to the .hlx file that you saved and select it. It should then attach to the message and upload here, where other users can download it and check it out for any weirdness. Hope this helps/makes sense
  4. Yep! It's probably best to avoid FarceBuck whenever possible, but when needs must... Strange thing - If you don't use a cpu and it's interface for web browsing that's one thing, but you must have a computer to be able download hlx. files and to use HX Edit to manage the presets. Whatever, enjoy the patches - Here they are
  5. Not sure about the one made by Chris Beaver, but as they were created on the Helix floor model, maybe not. You could download the files (link above) and try it to see if it will load. Nothing to lose! There is one specifically done by someone else for HX Stomp and it is available from the CustomTone “HX Stomp” download area. Don’t know how accurate it is or even if it any good at all. If your gear is in anyway different to the stuff used to create the preset, you may be better off starting from scratch and making your own. Anyhow, here ya go! https://line6.com/customtone/search/?submitted=1&family=hx_stomp&search_term=Thin+lizzy
  6. Dunno? Did you look here? https://www.facebook.com/groups/1618760245111752/ Then on the left hand side click on where it says “Files” and that will take you to the section where you can download the .hlx files.

    Helix 2.9

Well, waddayano, that’s DI right there in the video, but this quote from his earlier post above states: “Are you talking about 2.90, which has never been officially announced? We threw a party at NAMM with a sneak peek for friends only and they talked about it publicly... elsewhere..” Confused? You will be! Seems that users of this forum don’t qualify as “friends only”. And some of those “friends” have flappy lips!

    Helix 2.9

Mmm... “Are you talking about 2.90, which has never been officially announced? We threw a party at NAMM with a sneak peek for friends only and they talked about it publicly... elsewhere..” Sorry, but it seems that, according to DI, v2.9 is not an official thing. Oh, hang on! Maybe this means that now it is official? Seem that I’ve been “self oscillating” for quite a while now and have started to vibrate like tuning fork, finally joined the harmony of the spheres and become one with the universe. I’m outta here - This thread will self destruct...

You are also just as likely to find Frank or Eric commenting or contributing to this group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/line6helixusergroup/?ref=bookmarks
  10. Hi Ash, A similar sort of issue came up in another thread regarding starting a filter sweep. IIRC, someone thought that the Throbber Legacy effect was a possible solution. Not sure if it helps with your situation, but worth checking I guess.
  11. Oops! This is not the answer that you were hoping for, but read on. Obviously you didn’t do much research before plunging into the depths of digital modelling. I really never ceased to be amazed by folks who go out and buy state of the art equipment and expect it to be fully compliant with an operating system that first appeared in 2009 and was last updated by Apple in 2011. Take heart though, because you are not the only one to have made this mistake, see link below, “We'll be saying a big hello to all intelligent lifeforms everywhere and to everyone else out there, the secret is to bang the rocks together, guys.” ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
  12. Nope - they are the same. See the 2 posts above.

    Helix 2.9

Ha, ha, “helpful thought or answer from a user or employee would be better”. Well, the chances of a Line 6 employee responding are possibly somewhere south of zero. The best chance of a comment from them is to post on TGP or the FarceBuck groups where Frank and Eric are often known to lurk and reply. Posting here is like posting to the wastelands of the forgotten, even though the forum is branded as Line 6 it’s not gonna help. You’re crying in the dark! Enjoy what you already have - right now.

Maybe you should read the link in Blue Stripe Banner at the top of this page named "Line 6/YGG Company Update", below the Black and Orange Banner. Hope you don't get this bug.
  15. Searching the forums should have revealed this thread from Valentines Day, way back in 2018: Yup, see the image attached to my post in the thread where Eric mentions hiring a team of experts in polyphonic pitch shifting. And, I note that since then, "phil_m" appears to have had a change of mind and now says "There should be some polyphonic stuff coming in 3.0". He is a man who would know these things.
  16. Big improvement today, general quicker and smoother all round. Many thanks to the tech crew for the fixes.
  17. Hi, Check Pages 17 - 19 Serial vs Parallel in the Helix Owner’s Manual. If you are having difficulties it may clarify the issue. https://line6.com/data/6/0a06439c975d5787c3e351aa0/application/pdf/Helix 2.0 Owners Manual - Rev D - English .pdf
  18. Hi again, That list which I posted are the standard Line 6 reset procedures for the Helix Floor and LT hardware units and will perform the functions that they describe. For example - Hold down foot-switches 9&10 while powering up the unit and it’s internal brain will flush out all the IRs, wipe all the Global settings and return the setlists to the Factory defaults. Something like that will clear any onboard glitches and the when you launch HX Edit you will find that all the USER Preset slots are empty and ready to reload your presets from your clean backup files. You did make backups, didn’t you? Important note: Always work on a copy! I noted in your first post that you said the presets were becoming corrupted while ”copying a few at a time”. My suggestion would be that you load the presets individually to avoid this happening. Moving big chunks of digital info around in HX Edit may simply have caused it to choke on it. Anyhow, you originally asked for a blank preset list - the factory reset will give you what you need. Just ensure that you have made a back up of anything you don’t want to loose. Oh, yeah - your avatar seems to have become corrupted - hope you’re not suffering from a virus? ;-)
  19. Here we go again - one more time! Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right.
  20. This is something else that you will learn over time. Even if you had the exact same set up as the person who made the preset, you would need to modify the tone to suit your situation. You may be listening in a room, through a different brand of monitors, with a completely different acoustic response curve. Different guitar fitted with different gauge strings, different type of pickup, how heavy or lightly you attack your strings with pick or fingers, etc. It’s a minefield, everyone’s listening environment and playing techniques will be different to some degree, but it is a starting point for you to bend to work with your own gear. Even the splendid examples created by Jason Sadites will require modification to suit your particular studio, rehearsal space or whatever. Eventually you will find it is possibly easier to create your own tones.
  21. No, it is not funny, but I seriously doubt that you would “brick” your Helix, it is built like a tank. You’re dealing with software which controls the hardware, if it screws up, simply reinstall the software. Now, an electronic or mechanical failure is a different matter, although Line 6 repairs are very good. As for stressing the importance of USB connections - well, that’s not exactly a secret. At the bottom left hand corner of this page is a black dot containing a white question mark in a white circle, click on that and scroll down to the “Common Product FAQ” then you should see the link named “USB connection issues”. From that link you can find another link to an article named “USB Audio Troubleshooting”. Or, save yourself the hassle - you could simply follow this link to the same Knowledge Base article: Oh, yeah - it was first posted to these forums way back in 2006, so it was a known issue 14 years back and, as it hasn’t been changed since then, I guess the advice still stands. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. Ah, O.K. This entire forum is really, really sluggish. Plus it keeps dropping my log in and kicking me. The thing is the rest of the Line 6 website loads perfectly normally. Somebody needs to get under the hood and fix this. Trouble is nobody from Line 6 will progress it as they are usually found on TGP or FarceBook. This thing has never worked properly since the last change over. As others have said many times - “What happened to the Emojis?”
  23. Welcome to the realisation that the front USB ports on many PC boxes actually function as a USB hub. It’s one BIG thing that Line 6 state about USB - avoid using a hub. File under Weird and Mysterious” digital modelling stuff, along with the fact that your printer may work fine on that very long cable, but your Helix won’t play nice. Fun, ain’t it?

    Helix 2.9

I find that the ones on either side of my head seem to work quite well. I think the technical term for them is “ears”! Doh!
  25. Hi, If you go to the top right hand corner of this page, under your avatar icon and user name there is the option to access your uploads under the “My Attachments” section of the menu. From there you should navigate to the appropriate post and delete anything you no longer feel is required. That way you can reclaim some quota for uploading anything new. Hope this helps/makes sense.
