Oh, yes it will - I have just seen the software that comes with it - Analog Lab Intro, 28 Classic Instruments and 500 presets and Ableton Lite. https://www.arturia.com/products/software-instruments/analoglab-intro/overview?gclid=Cj0KCQjwntCVBhDdARIsAMEwACl3__xbPQkBb481PIFZ98zrMiqpaQQlqsDhszX4VobmB_ZgO6IuwPUaAtsCEALw_wcB Fairlight, Emulator, Jupiter, DX 7, this thing ships with all the basic units that I have in the V Collection which retails IRO 600 euros. Enjoy.

That should do it, if that is all you require. Arturia make some great Keyboard controllers, I have the Keylab 61, although it connects via an extra USB port on my Behringer XTouch Universal Control Surface and then I have the Helix on its own dedicated USB port on the iMac. Easiest set up that I have ever had. The XTouch does the automated mixing, the Keylab handles all the synth/sample libraries, and the Helix handles all the audio in and out with zero latency, because my Tannoy monitors are connected to the Helix XLRs.

Hmm... that's a little odd. I don't have access to a P90 , but my understanding of the Reset procedure for Yamaha digital pianos is when you power up holding down the right most white key for 2 or 3 seconds, any keyboard with a display screen should give an indication of the reset taking place, or having completed. Maybe the keyboard has gone flakey, it hard to diagnose via text. Did you try taking the Helix LT out of the equation, and only connect the Yamaha to your Mac with a MIDI (DIN) to USB. I guess you must have your Helix connected to the Mac Studio on USB? If the keyboard can send MIDI to the Mac, then it should be easy enough to get it to hook up through your Helix. If the keyboard has gone screwy, it may be time for a change.

Not that I’m aware of, installing HX Edit should take care of all those things. But, those To Host connection options are ancient. I still have an old (1993) Yamaha CBX-T3 General MIDI box with those connections. It’s sitting on a shelf over in the corner as a conversation piece. Most folks say -“wtf is that?” https://www.muzines.co.uk/articles/yamaha-hello-music/7650 If “boynigel” can establish communication between the Yamaha and ProTools directly then he can add the Helix back in and using the previous info about MIDI Thru, he should be good to go. Once again - Apple screws stuff up by changing everything to how they want to work. I got stiffed by buying an iMac that has Thunderbolt 2 ports. Even Apple don’t support Thunderbolt 2 to USB, FireWire or whatever -it was dead before it hit the streets.

Oh, why does this forum not have emojis? O.K. Can we simply visualise “palm face”? I only once (many years back) had real bad MIDI issues when trying to use my Helix Floor, a Roland Controller keyboard and Logic Pro. I got really annoyed with everything not working as expected, anyhow the long and short of it was it turned out to be a faulty keyboard. If you know your Helix communicated fine with PT previously then you need to check the keyboard is actually functioning correctly, other wise this could be a never ending “rabbit hole”. If the helix works as expected - rule it out, if the keyboard performs MIDI functions normally - rule it out. If the update to PT has bugs, then you won’t get anywhere till it’s fixed. You need a process of elimination. Plus check the MIDI cables. Should have taken the blue pill!

Hi, I don’t understand why you would think that Helix Native is an alternative? POD GO presets are NOT compatible with the Helix file format. Native can only modify or use presets created on any of the Helix family hardware. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, All you need to do is connect the MIDI OUT DIN from you Controller Keyboard to the MIDI IN DIN socket on the rear of the Helix LT. Then you have to go to the Global settings for MIDI where you turn on “MIDI THRU” and set MIDI over USB. The MIDI note on/off and other info (aftertouch, modulation etc.) will be passed through the Helix to your DAW on whatever MIDI channel your DAW is set to receive from. IIRC the Helix default is MIDI channel 1 so ensure your keyboard transmits on the same channel, although you can set this to whatever you like as long as everything matches. You can have 16 channels of MIDI info at the same time, but just like making a CB radio call, everything needs to send and receive on the same channel or they cannot respond. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, No, not at all. As stated by “rd2rk” in the post above, you just need to set the RETURN as the regular input block. You can then add up to 32 blocks dedicated to whatever FX you require. You said that you had been checking the manual for the Helix Rack, it explains how to set the input block on page 26. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: As you already have the MOTU, why do you need to go back out of Cubase (or any other DAW) to a hardware unit such as the Rack, when you can access all the power of a full Helix (and more if you turn off hardware compatibility) by simply using Helix Native as a plug-in? Available to you as a registered HX Stomp XL owner for $99.99 Just a thought.
-
Uh? The Helix Rack has 4 pairs of 1/4” jack sockets labelled as SENDS/RETURNS. Each can operate independently or as an FX Loop pair. Also there is a stereo SPDIF IN/OUT connection available. Basically stacks more options for hooking stuff up than your HX Stomp. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Apologies for missing that in your first post, although now I'm a little confused, because if you have the Helix floor - all your troubles are over, you really don't need the MG 10X (unless you want to track a band direct to disk in stereo). Your Helix floor would allow you to record your second musician, the singer and yourself all at the same time, each with their own track using Native as a plugin on each channel if necessary. Print the audio to disk and then change it as you wish. No need for the mixer for recording but great for a live gig. I have been using my Helix floor nearly everyday as the main audio interface to Logic Pro (with Native) on my iMac for 6 years - it never fails. USB 1&2 stereo in on one track plus a second DI on USB 7 to re-amp within HX Native. Easiest setup ever. I previously used a Focusrite Saffire interface for a long time but when FireWire was no longer supported I simply plugged in the Helix. Once the tracks are in Logic, along with any other additional material, I have a Behringer XTouch Universal MIDI Control Surface for automated mixing. Simple. i started on this digital stuff way back with the Original Kidney Bean POD and a now very rare Lucid Technology ADC. I still have 3 Variax guitars (among several others) plus my old PODxt Live and a POD HD500 gathering dust in the corner along with a Roland GR33 guitar synth and a rack full of 1980s synth modules and outboard that never get switched on now. Thanks for the offer of the drink, but I don't travel much nowadays. Many years ago though, a friend of mine used to travel to Frankfurt every year for a big Expo over there. He would aways return with a bottle of ApfelKorn and a bottle of Jägermeister for us to enjoy. Excellent! Have fun recording your stuff, how ever you choose to do it.

Hi, Yep - most folk take offence at the mention of the dreaded Read The Funky Manual (RTFM) comment, but to save me from typing out here all the same info that is provided in the “Yamaha MG 10X U Owner’s Manual”, it may be easier if you spent some time familiarising yourself with the routing functions of the mixer. My response is not meant to offend, but it is the simplest solution - “give a man a fish and he will be hungry again in an hour - teach a man to fish, etc.” and all that. You can grab the downloadable version of the manual by clicking on the link that I posted in my first reply. Although, the Yamaha MG 10X U Mixer is a USB Audio Interface, unless you get to grips with all its functions, you may find it rather awkward to get it to work as a home studio Audio Interface hub where you can monitor on both powered speakers and headphones at the same time. You said that you are using Helix Native in Reaper, but your profile shows 3 registered Line 6 products. This leads me to think that you may already own a Helix hardware unit, and if you do then they all have an 8 channel USB audio interface built in, your mixer only has 2. Using the HX hardware also allows you to record a direct injected dry unprocessed audio track alongside a fully processed stereo track simultaneously. The dry track can then be re-amped as many times as you like within Native. Another example, if you had 2 people playing together (guitar and bass) each could have their own separate tracks - using the MG 10X you would have only the stereo mix going into Reaper. Alternatively, you could buy a really inexpensive AI from Foucusrite, PreSonus, or Behringer which may be more flexible in a home studio environment. Mixers are great for live work and multi instrument recordings to a final stereo signal “mix”. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Well, having had a very quick glance at the Yamaha MG 10X U Owner’s Manual, regarding channel USB 9/10, it notes with an asterisk: 1. NOTICE: If you set the switch [TO ST] when you use the DAW software, a loop may be produced, possibly resulting in feedback. And, an even quicker look at you photo of the mixer, it looks to me that the MONO/STEREO button is engaged as Stereo. Oops! Oh, yeah, you may need to press the [PROGRAM] button 5 times to set the computer playback level to between -24dB and 0dB, then press [PROGRAM] once more to confirm. Oops #2 It also looks like you have the FX turned on on the mixer. No, not until you know how it all works with nothing else acting as a potential screw up. Start with that, then report back. Hope this helps/makes sense. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A1sq+yJRuoL.pdf

Hi, I think it may be highly unlikely you will get a response from the OP (Rob) as that post is almost 6 years old and the last reply was in March 2017. Ideally, to prompt a reply the best thing to do is "Quote" the post you need an answer too. Anyhow, as for your request for a .hlx - try this (use it or lose it) GTR+Mic+Looper.hlx Path 1A handles guitar, Path 1B is the Mic channel, both paths merge at path 2A+B and then out to stereo. All the blocks in the preset are simply placeholders for whatever you want to use, especially the volume blocks at the start of the signal chain as they allowed me to split the original path in to two. Hope this helps?makes sense. Note: there should be a whole bunch of TEMPLATE presets in your Helix in Setlist 8. They cover lots of options.

how do we connect helix to MacBook Pro with no USB input?
datacommando replied to undocumented's topic in Helix
Hi, This question would have been better addressed to Apple as they created the situation. You will probably need an adapter to convert from Thunderbolt to USB 2. Check this: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mh35952/mac Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, A quick search of the forum would seem to indicate that previous mentions of this error message have received the same advice - “raise a ticket with Customer Support”. The odd thing is that when people have posted that they had contacted Line 6 they never got back with what the answer/solution was! Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, You haven’t really given much to go on with this. Does this only happens with the Minotaur drive, or does it occur with any/or all effects assigned to FS B specifically? You say that you changed presets and this still happens. Once more is this only with the Minotaur, or all effects? When weird stuff starts to happen- perform a factory reset, or run the rebuild presets routine to see if it blows the bugs out. Information on this here: Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Helix Native 3.15 Pilot’s Guide - English - Pages 49-58 The Automation/Controller Assign Tab https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a4179ea61fd2e9472da7/application/pdf/Helix Native 3.15 Pilot's Guide - English .pdf Plus, there is this video. When dealing with a preset created by someone else, you don’t really know how they set the controllers to suit their situation- it would be better to make your own. Hope this help/makes sense.

I am very sorry to hear about your situation, and even though it may appear from the posts in here, and elsewhere, that this happens a lot, it is actually quite rare. There are thousands of very happy Helix users across the world who never have a moment of trouble with the hardware. The majority of “failed” updates occur when people fail to follow the precise update procedures. I am not saying that this is the situation in your case. What you’re dealing with is a computer, albeit essentially a very specialised computer - and computers can fail to work for a myriad of reasons. These type of firmware update problems are not restricted to Helix products only, here is one example: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/axe-iii-firmware-7-00-update-failure.153131/ When requesting assistance from forum users, it’s a great help to know exactly what computer and operating system you are using, and what version of the firmware you are updating from. There was a major revision to the Helix Core Engine with version 2.80, which at about halfway through the update would display the “Boot Failure, Entered Update Mode”, the update would appear to happen twice. This is perfectly normal and expected behaviour when updating from any version prior to 2.80. All firmware revisions contain “Release Notes” that should be read through before undertaking any update. If you have disconnected your computer from the internet and WI-FI, and turned off any other apps that may be running in the background, plus you are using a known good USB port an cable and still cannot connect to update the firmware - try another computer. If you still cannot connect using a different computer, then it may be that there is a hardware problem. If you have an issue with the hardware, contact Customer Support. If it is still under warranty it can either be fixed, or replaced. Also, if it is still within the warranty period, It may be worthwhile contacting the retailer to see if they would be willing to fix, and/or update the unit for you. Software rarely turns your hardware into a “paperweight”, whereas and electrical component malfunction could. Hope this helps/makes sense.

I just tested 2 pairs of headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50x, and some cheapo Superlux HD668B) with my Helix floor. They work exactly as expected. Stereo all the way from loud down to zero. No change in balance between left and right. Check your Helix with another set of good phones that you know work correctly. If it still happens clean the headphone socket with Electric Contact Cleaner. If you still have a problem with the left channel there may be an issue with the connection to the board and you may need a service engineer to check it out. Hope this helps/makes sense

Yep! The guy in the video is Paul Hindmarsh, a Line 6 product demonstrator. He usually posts his freebie demo tones on CustomTone, and a quick look in there reveals this. https://uk.line6.com/customtone/tone/5637579/ Seek and ye shall find! The truth is out there. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hmm… I guess you migrated your stuff from the old machine to the new one? O.K. Check this thread - there is a post from a guy who got a response from Customer Support and posted the details. If that doesn’t work for you, then you need to raise a ticket with Support. Hope this helps/makes sense.
