  1. So, it appears they didn't add the missing Command Center to the Stomp. Bummer.
  2. The first time I got drunk was on Jack and Coke at a camp-out with high school friends. I drank one and it tasted, and then had another. The next morning we drove to the Waffle House for breakfast and I got sick. When I leaned out the window on the highway to barf, my glasses blew off and broke. When I got home my parents asked me what happened to my glasses, I told them we were playing hide and seek and I ran into a tree. I can't even look at a bottle of Jack Daniels now.
  3. Yes, you are all correct. These are sort of the lyrics to "Die Eier Von Satan" by Tool. And also some of Meatloaf's lyrics. Very perceptive.
  4. Ingredients 1-1/2 pounds Ground Beef (93% lean or leaner) 3/4 cup Panko bread crumbs 3/4 cup ketchup, divided 1/2 cup minced onion 1 egg 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 2 teaspoons minced garlic 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves 3/4 teaspoon pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 1) Heat oven to 350°F. Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup ketchup, onion, egg, Worcestershire, garlic, thyme, pepper and salt in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape beef into 8 x 4-inch loaf on rack in aluminum foil-lined broiler pan. 2) Place upper oven rack in 350°F oven. Bake 45 to 55 minutes, until instant-read thermometer inserted into center registers 160°F; brush with remaining 1/4 cup ketchup during last 10 minutes, if desired. Let stand 10 minutes. Cut into slices.
  5. That's the spirit. If everyone having a "I can't even use the $&*#ing software" demands a refund from Line 6, then just maybe they'll fix their installation bugs.
  6. That's not his avatar; that's datacommando.
  7. I'll echo @datacommando's mention of "you're not alone." Check out the Helix Native forum to commiserate. Although I've had great success (luck?) with Helix Native (Mac High Sierra and Logic Pro X), many have had installation problems using either Windows or Mac, and on various DAWS. The problems have been sporadic, so there seems to be no definitive solution. Let's hope that Line 6 addresses the problem in the next update.
  8. Its getting pretty weird in here. I think people are starting to leave. Me too.
  9. Ha! Now I've learned something new, too!!!
  10. It took me months to find that little arrow, but now my life is complete. And you're welcome .... there are lots of really helpful folks on these forums. If you figure out any cool stuff or tips, be sure to share!
  11. No worries .... just having some fun. I had the same problem finding delete. Its under the little pull down arrow next to "Options". Did the image not delete, though? Never tried that. Glad you got it sorted out and are enjoying the plug-in!
  12. Yes, I can plainly see where it was deleted. Bummer.
  13. So, what @datacommando said. To add .... are you simply trying to pan the mono guitar track within the Helix stereo FX output "field"? If you create a stereo track with stereo instance of HxN plug-in, you can pan the location of the mono guitar in your mix's stereo field using the Volume/Pan effects block. So: Amp/Cab (mono) --> Volume/Pan:Pan block (stereo) --> various effects blocks (stereo; e.g. Reverb, Chorus, Delay, etc) Then, use the balance slider in the Pan block to place your mono amped guitar in the stereo field (see example below, with guitar panned a little left of center). Leave your DAW pan for the track set to center (HxN is taking care of the panning and stereo image). Remember to choose all Stereo (not Mono) blocks for each effects blocks in your block chain after the amp ... if you accidentally stick a mono block in there, it will collapse the stereo to mono! And if you split your amp into two paths, be wary of how you place the stereo blocks.
  14. That's sick! And I mean that in a good way....
  15. ....a noise gate wouldn't help here....if you listen to the OP's file you can hear that the noise is part of the guitar playing, rather than during the silent parts. Gotta figure out what is causing the noisy guitar signal. Laptop power supply?? Bad cable? Faulty audio interface? Jupiter aligned with Mars? Active guitar with low battery? WTF?
  16. That's strange, but I don't suspect Helix Native. Yet. To me, it sounds like noise is being injected into the guitar signal somewhere else in the signal path. Have you done more troubleshooting, e.g: - record the guitar signal through your Profx, then try different single plug-ins that boost the signal (compressors, etc) and see if you hear the noise. - insert only Helix Native on the guitar track, but don't put any blocks in the preset .... just run the guitar signal through it, adjusting input and output to achieve unity (same volume if the plug-in is bypassed or not). Any noise? - listen closely to your signal coming out of the Profx with headphones...any noise? Etc.....
  17. So, its been over a month, and probably time for a lawn mower update. The parts for my Honda HRX217 came in and I got the mower running again. I found out it runs better on 92 octane, so bought a gallon of that. I just mowed the lawn yesterday (its growing faster now), and while I was mowing and emptying the bag over and over, I started thinking that it would be nice to tear out my lawn and put in sort of a natural meadow. You know, wildflowers and native grasses and that kind of sheet. I figure it would be good for the planet and animals, and I wouldn't have to mow as much. Sort of like letting it go to weeds, but really pretty weeds. If the neighbors complained I could tell them I'm just trying to do my part. And since the Helix update isn't out yet, a project like that would give me something to do for the next couple of weeks, plus it would be good healthy work. Win win. So I went to the Battle Ground public library (they just remodeled with new carpeting and paint, and it came out pretty good) and checked out a book called "How to Create a Wildlife Garden." I started reading it in bed last night to look for ideas, and I swear the font size is only about 6 pt. Really tiny type! Even the pictures are tiny. The book is like 250 pages, and there is no way I can read this book. So now I'm thinking of getting back on Amazon to see what I can find. The weather is really nice here today.
  18. Agreed on the parallel processing. For recording tracks, I've found using a direct (DI) bass track into the DAW always sounds best (though I use the REDDI plug-in by Kush for bass "preamp"). If needed I use a parallel track with Helix on the bass, so can blend in distortion or effects as needed.
  19. Different folks are more sensitive to the delay ("latency") between when they play string and hear the string through the audio system (be it hardware, software, monitoring, etc). 10 ms seems to be a common threshold for being annoyed. 10 ms is about the same delay of a speaker to your ears, so a guitarist standing 10 feet from their amp would hear about the same delay, and we learn to compensate. When playing through my audio DAW setup, I just go by ear ..... if the delay is annoying or impacts my playing on time, I do what I can to reduce the latency (usually by changing my buffer setting). If its not a problem, its not a problem!
  20. The MIDI command stuff takes very little ROM space so no expense. They've stated they didn't want to make the manual longer and more intimidating, so left the Command Center stuff out. But I say bring it on.
  21. Yes, for some crazy reason Line 6 left the MIDI send CC features out of the Stomp. I hope they put it back in at some point. Its the reason I sent the unit back, but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat if they added the MIDI stuff because I love the footprint compared to my bigger HX Effects. As @rd2rk mentions, the Stomp does send program change MIDI info, if that's all you need.
  22. Yeah, its cool alright .... but Line 6 needs to add the feature to the Stomp firmware. That's the reason I returned mine ... I need to control external MIDI devices.
  23. My SPX90 fried long ago. I wish it still worked. I liked it and miss it very much. *sigh*
