  1. Have you tried to cut the highs? EQ perhaps?
  2. Cool I will but right now I fed the 1/4 L and R outs on the the HD 500 into my TonePort UX2 and am getting some awesome sound using a dual patch. Man this set up kicks a ss. 😄👠Recorded one side to RiffWorks and the other to Audacity.
  3. Have you tried Audacity? I just used it record to this Banjo Riff. There's bunch of free recording programs out there you just have to choose one and try it. When I first started I used Audacity and I still do. After a while of using whatever one you choose to learn you'll get the hang of it. Also: RiiWorks T4 Reaper
  4. I think If I was going to gig nowadays I would just haul around an HD500 and go direct, lol. I just love the DT50 by itself and with the HD500 WOW it's really more than I can use currently but I'm working on it, lol. I've been fooling around with my old TonePort UX2, which is still new to me. and I learn something new every time. Also,I've been running the DT50 Direct Out into the UX2 and man it sound great. Makes my practicing even more fun. Hey Colonel Forbin you've got alot good posts man.
  5. I have the line 6 Edition running on Windows 7 it limits you to saving files as 16 bit. Still records good though. There's some other limitations too. I use the Standard Version also. I was putting together a song with somewhat complicated drums (at least how I did it, lol) and I ended up with a runtime error so I called the song Blasted Runtime Error, lol, and then used them again on Cool Drums Shred Other than that I like the program. Take a look at their website specs and/or give them a shout.
  6. Ok, after quite few more hours on the DT50 Head......this amp works great, man it sounds good .I've been playing around with the direct out lately and am liking it! Nice amp you made here Line 6 Thanks Brothers.
  7. I can only guess Line 6 helped you somehow. :)
  8. There might be some free software. You could download the free version of RiffWorks T4.
  9. You'll need an iPhone or iPad to use Moble app. You can use the windows mixer to adjust sound levels, Click on the mixer to see all options >> options>
  10. Wont hurt to uninstall both, restart and reinstall. Just make sure you run usbdeview in admin or the uninstall won't happen.
  11. Maybe you need to uninstall whatever windows installed automatically first and start over. You can use USBDeview in administrative mode to uninstall the driver in question and then restart your computer and install the correct driver (maybe you should restart again) and then plug the VX in. Might be an easier way though.
  12. Oh wait that didn't work? Did you ever plug the VX in before installing the driver?
  13. Install the VX drivers before plugging it in as per the manual. Check out the manual See this>>>
  14. Was thinking the same thing. Whenever there's a thread created by someone desperate to give up, it takes a turn, Negative into Positive. I hear that song by Chumbawamba "I get knocked down, but I get up again, your never going to keep me down"
  15. Have you tried Full Compass? More Specifically the Knob <<< Click There.
  16. Maybe it'll be ok. If the X3 acts up alot like it's overheating you'll know. I don't know how the X3 reacts if it gets too hot. Since the HD500 doesn't have any real venting I would say that the only thing producing a considerable amount of heat in the X3 Pro is the on board power supply. I suppose if it overheats it'll shutdown the unit until it cools. I do like that rack case you've got. I was looking at the one with wheels a while ago but I don't need to haul it anywhere......yet, lol.
  17. Reason is, the one I'm using has alot of room for hot air to flow out naturally. The rack case I got here is about 6 inches longer than the X3 itself giving me room to store cables and stuff.
  18. Is the top and bottom of your rack case completely flat? if not then you have some venting.
  19. I think your going to need to start your Pod in safe mode to reinstall the firmware. Powering up while holding the right nav button down. Then Monkey should pick it back up. You need to do a factory reset after any update by restarting the pod while holding the left nav button down and after that you need to recalibrate the on board pedal. Check out the "knowledge base". When ever I re-flash or update mine I never save my old patches I start fresh in case I have a corrupt patch in there somewhere. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/after-pod-hd500x500-flashre-flashupdate-man-r160
  20. I'm sorry I misunderstood. Your obviously experiencing some other noise. I had noise without anything plugged in once long time ago. I uninstalled everything related to UX2 (even Monkey) restarted the computer (Win 7) then reinstalled everything starting with Monkey. Noise "Gone". I can only figure the software became corrupt.
  21. You're Welcome!! I'll be doing the same thing soon. :)
  22. I would try uninstalling everything related to line 6 UX2 with line 6 reinstall tool or USBDeview and then reinstall monkey and so forth. restart your computer before plugging the USB in. When you run the USBDeview make sure you run it in administrative mode so that when you make changes such as delete a driver it will "take" after you restart. Also make sure you update your computers drivers if hasn't done it itself. Check Out>>> USB Audio Troubleshooting
  23. The pedal is the culprit. There was fix for this by adding a resistor in it somehow to get the value the M13 is looking for, works for the HD500 too. I forget exactly how so I'm going to try to dig it up by searching. I never did the fix 'cause it wasn't that important to me at the time. I found this: http://circuits-from-my-shed.blogspot.com/2012/02/first-build-line-6-ex-1-expression.html
