Latency half a second at preset change on Firehawk?
stevekc replied to alexdreamworld's topic in Firehawk
Below video 100% matches the patch change delay time of my Firehawk FX when bluetooth connected with iPhone 6 plus http://youtu.be/BPMsMXYq2n0 -
Noble effort! I have found its worth reading old docs for other effects to learn how effects work, and strategies for live use. http://www.foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/ http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=88.0 FWIW -I'm administrator for an Independent "not affiliated with any company" multi-fx forum with ability to host many docs and user to user patch sharing. I already host the nets largest repository of Variax Workbench patches http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?board=138.0 The Firehawk FX area is here: http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?board=198.0

The parent company = INMUSIC owns Alesis, Alto, Numark, Akai, M-Audio https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InMusic_Brands The Alto TS112A have 800 watts ( 400 RMS) Total The Alesis Alpha 112A started life as an improved version - same cab ( just different brand badge) have 1000 watts ( 500 RMS) total and a larger HF Horn more details here: http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=12481.0 Agreed - but here in USA, I can buy four Alesis 112A cabs for the price of one Stagesource L2t http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SSL2T?adpos=1o2&creative=55686218521&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CLmghOCwt8YCFQMbaQods3cJSg And run two for PA FOH mains and two for stage monitors - been doing that for many gigs -indoors. outdoors over a year and the Alesis Alpha 112A still work like new. I use Alto TS112A padded covers during transport http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/928368-REG/alto_spkrcvr12_slip_on_padded_speaker.html Alesis Alpha 112A are only 31 pounds - saves my back Owners Manual http://alesis.com/stuff/contentmgr/files/25/5493293bfa0d4f599875af6eddd8ea08/file/alpha112_quickstartguide_v1.2.pdf "What is a DSP doing in my Powered PA Cab?" Its performing a time aligned brickwall filter for each path of the Powered Bi-Amp Speaker Cab, and solves the classic issue of passive crossovers of having a "frequency hole" right in the middle of your audio frequency spectrum right at the woofer / HF Tweeter crossover point - which often is right in the middle of your Guitar Frequency spectrum See example below Classic passive Crossover DSP Active Crossover ( Firtec = DSP)

IMHO - After these mods: Locking IEC AC Inlet ( and a X3 Live style protective bar for the LCD/Knobs) and Neutrik USB Connectors would I classify the Helix as "Tour Grade" http://www.neutrik.com/en/multimedia/multimedia-connectors/usb/ Product Guide - Section Data Connectors http://www.neutrik.com/en/multimedia/usb/nausb-w http://www.neutrik.com/en/multimedia/usb/nkusb Need to hang out at the POD HD Forum more or play gigs where Dancers jump on stage and walk on your gear POD HD500X Dead? http://line6.com/support/topic/14558-hd500x-dead/?hl=usb

Id like A/B them with Line-6 StageSource powered cabs. Can't find a dealer with Line-6 inventory I bought a pair of EV ELX112P but they stay home while the Alpha 112A's I rely on for all my gigs. Great sound , go plenty loud and light. I use Alto TS112A padded covers during transport.

FWIW = These cabs are built in the same factory as the Altos , yet sound even better than the Alto TS112A http://alesis.com/alpha112 details http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=12481.0

what you describe is typical when using high gain amp settings, when your mag pickups require wax potting http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/faq/seymours-q-a/551575/

Good call - should provide much needed Exposure, and generate sales. http://www.nashvilledowntown.com/play/nightlife/live-music Visit Gruhns Guitars http://guitars.com/ 2120 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204 (615) 256-2033 Side story - Last time I was there, I was working R&D for Gibson Dark Fire with Tronical, and I flew from Burbank to Nashville and Tronical picked me up at the Airport and we headed to a local club / bar - nothing but Budweiser - most exotic beer they had was "Michelob" - the next morning we got an early start and at breakfast I asked: Do you have anything other than "Maxwell House Coffee"? Only to find out I was staying at the actual "Maxwell House" Hotel http://www.millenniumhotels.com/usa/millenniumnashville/

Latency half a second at preset change on Firehawk?
stevekc replied to alexdreamworld's topic in Firehawk
Yes there is patch to patch change latency on Firehawk ( and its longer than the HD500X ) the "patch change lag" is a result of loading new data in the Firehawk's singular DSP for each patch But if you have access to a Roland GR-55 - audition it for its patch change delay latency Know that the Line-6 Firehawk FX switches patches at least twice as fast as the GR-55. -
I get excellent results with a Roland Cube Street EX - plenty loud, battery powered 50 Watts (25 W + 25 W). Just feed the Stereo Line Inputs http://www.rolandus.com/products/cube_street_ex/

This is the Firehawk FX forum Locate answers in the "POD HD" forum here: http://line6.com/support/forum/18-pod-hd/ http://line6.com/support/topic/14531-no-output-from-hd500/

Firehawk FX Firmware 1.10 Expression Pedal Options:

-
Try recalibrating the Expression pedal Toe Switch, or insert a small piece of wood under the expression pedal to restrict its travel so it never hits the toe switch . Use a stack of Post -it notes and peel off sheets until the "shim" is just right

What is your IOS device? Here my Sonic port VX works great with iPhone 6 Plus and iPad AIR = both are using IOS 8.1.3 Remember the 1/4" Outputs on Sonic port are TRS Balanced ,and these work best when using a 1/4" TRS to XLR Male cable straight into a PA

Might try Ebay Line 6 P/N# 21-34-0230, 3 Foot iOS Cable for Mobile Keys 25 and 49 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Line-6-21-34-0230-3-Foot-iOS-Cable-for-Mobile-Keys-25-and-49/291416585164?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140602152332%26meid%3D9bf2f295f9be4e82b4e2ef938f7a6b1c%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D281419799428 -
I still have my Vetta+ FBV, and I have the Armin Cab firmware upgrade For reference comparison, I made frequency response plots (Several Pages worth) of all factory Vetta Amps, Cabs, and Mic Sims - and made a large PDF for folks to download at VGuitarforums ---- http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=88.msg3791#msg3791 Typical Amp, Cab, Mic Frequency Response Curves. Although I developed these tests a few years ago with a Line6 Vetta - the basic characteristic "EQ Curve" of most popular Amps, Cabs, and Mics are documented here - to get you in the ball park. I think anyone trying to get a decent guitar tone will be better equipped if they understand the Frequency response differences / relationships between: Amp Heads: a Fender Twin, and a Marshall JCM-800, or a Peavey 5150. Speaker Cabs: A Celestion Vintage 30, Jenson C10Q, or a JBL D130 Mics: Shure SM-57, Seinheisser 421, Neumann U-47 - (both On Axis and Off Axis!) Its not off topic to refer to these EQ plots when trying to emulate these sounds with a VG-99 - I view each of the companies (Line6, Roland, Digitech, Axsys) as leapfrogging each other - its more a function of "who's got the faster DSP and highest bit depth this year? http://www.vettaville.com/vetta_frequency_plots.htm (Must be a member of VGuitarforums and "logged in" to download the attached documents) http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=88.0;attach=919 http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=88.0;attach=920 http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=88.0;attach=921
