  1. Call your local Line 6 retailer for actual current pricing. Prices vary depending on your country/currency.
  2. What firmware are you running? There were some tarp tempo issued that were resolved in a recent firmware release. You should update to the latest v2.92
  3. Search Customtone. The one that is there uses IRs but I think you can experiment with a stock cab to come close.
  4. Does the controller assign screen just display momentarily and then disappear or does it remain until you do something to clear it?
  5. The switches are touch sensitive by default so if you are barefoot what you describe is normal. There is a global setting that controls whether or not the switches are touch sensitive. You can change it.
  6. Great job Jason.

You asked to be notified of any errors. There is an outdated comment re: IRs   on the Tips -> Common Effects section. It describes IRs as referencing a number,  not name. A recent firmware update changed this and IRs now reference file names.

Thanks. Making the change and will update it today.

  7. There’s no mention of turning off the Tap Tempo light in the manual so I assume the answer is no.

time to open a support ticket.
  9. Very valid concern. Please open a support ticket to make sure Line 6 can try to track this down.
  10. I can’t help with what you’re looking for, but I can help you avoid some potential confusion to make sure you get the correct part. What you are looking for is not a VDI cable. What you want is the Workbench hardware interface device and associated cables. That is what connects the Variax to a PC and enables the use of Workbench as well as enabling Variax firmware updates. The VDI cable is different. It connects the Variax guitar to a VDI-equipped Line 6 guitar processor such as Helix, POD HD500X, etc.
  11. To restore the patch settings without saving changes, simply select another patch (leave it, as you say, and the changed settings are discarded) and then return to the original patch.
  12. Was Helix your first introduction to the world of digital modeling coming from an analog situation? If so, much of the time and effort can be attributed to that, not necessarily to Helix itself. Note that the OP is coming from a Firehawk so is familiar with the digital modeling world.
  13. The other things to consider about Firehawk are it’s Tone Matching and mobility (Bluetooth based remote app). If losing those features are not important to you I would definitely upgrade to the LT first. If affordable I would then sell the Standard and get the JTV59.

If it happens spontaneously, without you touching anything, it’s either a firmware glitch or faulty hardware. To determine which it is use HX Edit to reinstall the firmware. If it’s still happening open a support ticket for hardware diagnosis and repair.
  15. You are very gracious, sir. And generous. Thanks for your contribution to this community.
  16. It can't be turned off. It's the same way with all Helix products, and I believe before that as well. As I'm sure you know it's there as a visual indicator that you are in the process of selecting a new preset, and you must either Cancel out of the process or select a preset. It's useful to alert you if you mistakenly hit the Up or Down switch. If you've organized you preset order in advance for a gig, as most do, and hit the wrong switch while 'live' you could get quite confused and it could affect your performance. Personally I find it more useful than annoying but I can see your point. Might be worth an Ideascale item as a global setting.
  17. It is working as it should. Amp modellers are designed to replicate the sound and ‘feel’ of a mic’d amp in the studio control room. That’s the sound that you hear on recordings. You are right that there’s a difference between that and the ‘amp in the room’ feel. But the modeller is working as it should; it’s not designed to reproduce the amp in the room feeling.
  18. I notice that we are able to post a comment in any user’s profile. It’s public, but the receiving user is notified by email as well as in the Notifications alert, and you do have to visit the user’s profile page to post/see it. I don’t know if this is a new feature or not; perhaps I just haven’t noticed it before. In any case you can use that instead of a PM. Similar effect - the target user gets it and it’s hidden from general view unless one visits the user’s profile.
  19. That’s controlled in Global Settings. The default value is Bank, and that’s reset when you do a Factory Reset. You must have changed it at some point, knowingly or not. See manual pg 33.
  20. Also, as of firmware v2.80 Helix supports Variax string level settings. You could create a dual input preset, set both inputs to Variax, set the treble string levels to zero on the clean bass path, leave the levels normal for the dirty chord path, and independently process the paths/strings. Set the path outputs differently as desired.
  21. The Helix Marketplace contains many presets created by pros. Explore those options. Perhaps one or more of those creators will consider building custom presets for you.
  22. Yes there is a beta program. It’s by invitation, not sign-up.
  23. Make sure your firmware is up to date; v1.12 is the latest. Also, the firmware v1.12 release notes includes the following known bug: On rare occasions, audio can be lost if POD Go is powered on while a connected Mac/PC is passing audio via USB If this is causing your problem, a workaround would be to disconnect the POD Go when powering up.
