That’s curious. I can see Workbench HD 2.15 in the Downloads section. Does Monkey allow / help you to update there?
-
Well that's clearly not how it is working. To demonstrate, tap the button three time with the interval between the final two taps noticeably different from the interval between the first two. You'll see that only the last two are calculated. EDIT: Actually it may be calculating the average of the three. My mistake. Further experimentation required. In any case, any problem will soon be fixed I expect.

Thanks for the video. I've done a little experimenting with how the Tap Tempo actually works. We could debate whether or not that is 'correct' but here's what I found: - the function calculates the tempo based on only the last two taps in any sequence of taps. It does no averaging based on a sequence. - it calculates the interval between the last two presses, not releases, of the tap button By pressing the button once (not twice) you can see the current tempo. Readers, please do your own experimenting and correct the above if necessary. So in terms of your video I think the only taps that matter are the last two. The first 16 are irrelevant. So the question becomes: is it possible that your last two presses of the button were actually a tempo of around 110 rather than 100? That's both hard to say from the video and also hard to get exactly right when using your foot to tap the tempo in real time (which is how the feature was designed to work). Seems to me that if you want an exact, precise bpm you should use the bpm setting, not the Tap Tempo button. Using the button is generally good enough for live play, especially since you can correct it immediately by pressing again if it starts to drift. So, is the above implementation 'correct'? Who's to say - it is what it is. In any case, it appears Line 6 is investigating and will have a fix if there's an actual problem.

The Helix driver is a fully compliant ASIO driver. The ASIO protocol dictates that the same audio device must be used for both input and output. Hence what you are observing is not only normal, but required, behaviour under ASIO. ASIO4ALL is a non-compliant pseudo-ASIO driver that is known to cause issues when used with the compliant Line 6 devices. It is not supported.

I haven't noticed anything wrong with mine. Can you please post a video of it not working? That might help me explore mine further.

Crazy amounts of gain and muddy tone in Native
silverhead replied to mfsmith117's topic in Helix Native
Also, what computer and DAW (audio recording program) are you using? Are you using the Line 6 driver? -
The display is controlled in Global Settings, which were reset to default values by the update. If you restore the backup file you created as part of the update process your global settings will be restored to their pre-update values.

I hesitate to ask.... but did you use HX Edit v2.90 to perform the firmware update? That’s important information for the others out there who should beware.
-
You’re not doing anything wrong. You need to manually download and install Helix Native v1.90 from the Downloads section of this website. It is not done automatically because HX Native is a separate purchase/product. Not all Helix owners have Native, and vice-versa.

Hit the Downloads button at the top of this page. Then select HX Edit in the middle (software) field. Follow the installation instructions. -
Can I use Pod Farm without X3 Live connected?
silverhead replied to eam1990's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
It depends on whether you paid separately for your Pod Farm license or if it came bundled with the X3 purchase. If the latter you need to have the X3 connected in order to run Pod Farm, and the license applies to the original Pod Farm product, not Pod Farm 2. If you haven’t purchased Pod Farm separately and want to use your Focusrite you will need to purchase Pod Farm. Buy the hardware independent version of Pod Farm 2.5. -
Just be aware that you may encounter issues if you update the device firmware without also updating HX Edit. As of v2.90 the supported firmware update procedure is integrated into the HX Edit program. The previous method of using the Line 6 Updater program directly is no longer applicable. So that leads to the following question: having downloaded the firmware file, how do you plan to install it? Line 6 Updater is the wrong answer; it may no longer work properly. I don’t know if the new procedure within HX Edit v2.90 gives you the option to update from a local file.

silverhead replied to Fidel1604's topic in Helix
That should be automatic. Are you also running HX Edit v2.90, and is that how you updated the firmware in your Helix LT? -
Did you manually download and install the Helix Native update? It is not part of the HX Edit and Helix firmware update process.
-
What version of firmware is currently installed in your Helix LT? What happens if you hit Cancel in the the error message dialogue box? Does the firmware update proceed without creating a backup? If so, is it successful? If the firmware update cannot proceed without creating a successful backup file you will need to fix apparent errors, possibly corrupt presets, in your Helix device. If you don’t have any custom presets or setlists that you want to backup you can just perform a factory reset to restore the Helix device to a state where a system backup will succeed. If you want to make backups of existing presets and setlists, try using HX Edit to export individual setlists. HX Edit v2.90 should be OK to use but if it doesn’t work with your existing firmware revert back to your previous version. Take note of any setlist that fails to export properly. For each such setlist, export all individual presets. Take note of any presets that fail to export properly. Any presets that failed to export properly are likely corrupt, and are the probable cause of the system backup failure. NOTE: These presets may be irretrievable. You may want to take screenshots at this point to recreate them manually later. Replace each of the above corrupt presets with a copy of New Preset in your setlists. Export the revised setlists. Repeat this procedure until all setlists export successfully. Now manually create a system backup to ensure that it is successful and won’t halt the firmware update procedure. Then try the firmware update again.

POD Farm / PodXT Live patch files
silverhead replied to chasingMango's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
I think the answer is Yes. I just consulted the Pod Farm 2 Advanced User Guide. On page 6.3 it says that PF2 can load l6t (preset) files, l6b (bundle) files, and l6c (collection) files. I expect your Pod XT backup is in one or more of those formats. -
Anyone want an area to write notes on the Helix screen? Just curious.
silverhead replied to brue58ski's topic in Helix
Yes, Ultimate Guitar supports key changes that change the chords appropriately. No it doesn't use iTunes. Like any app it manages its own local storage on the device and uses that for local data and files. -
Any Firehawk FX drivers available for downloading on PC
silverhead replied to justfhdfeelings's topic in Firehawk
Go to the Downloads section of this website (see top of this page). Use the filters to select Firehawk FX as the product and Drivers as the software. Download and install the driver. -
Possible to reduce monitoring and recording level independently?
silverhead replied to ossianott's topic in Helix
The OP is wanting to use the DAW monitoring to get the benefit of VST FX applied in real time to the input signal. That, as you say, will necessarily introduce some amount of latency but perhaps still useable with good audio configuration. -

silverhead replied to brue58ski's topic in Helix
There’s Ultimate Guitar - a subscription service. Very large library of songs including lyrics, chords, tabs and printable sheets. Scrolls with adjustable speed for different songs. Supports setlists; allows you to select Favorites that are downloaded to your iPad so you don’t need an internet connection at gigs; includes teaching videos and resources; .... I find it worth the price. -
How can I move the FX loop (the send and return) after the reverb?
silverhead replied to tannyrsd3's topic in Firehawk
The Firehawk imposes some restrictions on FX block locations. In the app you can see the options when you touch and hold a block - vertical bars appear indicating the possible locations of the block. The Reverb block has only two possible locations: at the end of the signal path or immediately before the amp. In the latter case that leaves the FX Loop block at the end of the chain. I know that is probably not exactly what you’re looking for (reverb before amp) but it seems to be the only option to get the FX Loop at the end of the chain. -
You can't. The presets are not compatible. What you can do is use the Firehawk Remote app to view all the amps and FX in any given preset and manually recreate their selections and settings in a POD Go preset. Expect to still have to do some tweaking because they won't sound identical even with the same settings.
-
Are you able to see and select the amps in the model packs despite the fact that they don't show up in a listing? Scroll through the list of available amps on the HD500. Can you see the ones in the various model packs?

You can see the Variax model selection on Page 2 of the input block. Actually it displays the name of the Variax model stored in the selected bank/pup location on the Variax. The Variax factory models are named according to these locations (e.g.Spank-1). If you’ve customized the names of the models then you may not be able to decipher the bank/pup selection.
