  1. There are 128 presets in a setlist - 8 setlists for a total of 1024 presets in the device. They are numbered squentially from Setlist 1 Preset 1A to Setlist 8 preset 32D. Preset number 259 would be the third preset in the third setlist (259-256 = 3) - so Setlist 3 Preset 1C.
  2. Just one suggested addition to the above.... Before reinstalling HX Edit v2.80 shut down the currently running Updater program. This program itself may be out of date; it will be replaced while installing HX Edit.
  3. That's too long to be stuck - I would reboot the Helix device. If it hangs again at the same preset let us know - you may have a corrupt preset. If so we'll deal with that next.
  4. Glad to see that this worked for you too. Please, everyone here, be on the lookout for other users who experience this and point them to this solution.
  5. The latest manual is the one you mention - for v2.10. The next manual release will be for firmware v3.0. Meantime the release notes for each individual release contain information on all new features and operations.
  6. Did it update to v2.80 successfully on your Mac? Are you saying that it's not recognized by Updater running on your PC? HX Edit v2.80 running on your PC recognizes it? Do you have the Helix Rack? If so, restart it holding down encoders 1 + 6 to force it to start up in manual update mode. Then start the Updater program again. Does Updater now recognize it as running v2.80? If so, start the v2.80 update again.
  7. I encountered a similar (perhaps the same) issue during beta testing. The update stopped midway, as I was expecting, and then stalled. Helix Rack would not reboot, and the Updater program would no longer recognize it when connected (i.e. it was not 'enumerating' in Line 6 Updater). Here's the advice I received from Line 6 at that time, and it worked for me: .... if it is not enumerating in Line 6 Updater you may want to try to put it into manual update mode and see if it enumerates. I believe on Rack the shortcut to do so is holding down encoders 1 & 6 while powering on the rack. If it still does not enumerate then you may need to try another computer if you have one available. If you can get it to enumerate, attempt to upgrade to whatever version of firmware it is showing again. (If it shows 2.71 on boot install 2.71 again etc.) I put my Helix Rack in update mode. Line 6 Updater then recognized the device and showed v2.80 firmware installed (even though it did not complete). I restarted the v2.80 update and things proceeded smoothly from there. The update was successfully completed and the Rack was recovered. Hope this helps.
  8. OK folks. Time to wipe the drool off our chins, update and play, and then start a "Where's v2.9?" thread........
  9. Maybe there's some confusion about the name of the program. The program you name - Helix edit 2.7.1 - does not exist. There is a program named HX Edit v2.71 which is the current latest version of the Helix editor (about to be replaced by HX Edit v2.80). There is also a much older program simply named Helix that is an early version of the Helix editor. Make sure you are downloading the HX Edit program - not the Helix program.
  10. I don't think the master knob setting will cause any problem. I agree with flanger68. If it's not a cable or connection problem I think your M20d needs servicing.
  11. I can see the hlx file - presumably you can too. To view it, drag/drop it into a preset slot in HX Edit.
  12. I suggest you open a support ticket. https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  13. The Updater program is included in the HX Edit installer package.
  14. Yes. The only thing you need to download is the HX Edit installer package. Running this installs compatible versions of the driver and Updater program. Run HX Edit to create a backup of your current Helix. Run the Updater to update the firmware. Then run HX Edit again to restore your backup. Done.
  15. I haven't had any trouble with tone knob settings and snapshots. Perhaps I've simply never attempted exactly what you are doing but I have used the feature and found no anomalies.
  16. Make sure that your Variax settings on the input block (Tone Knob and Lock Variax Controls) are not contradictory with your snapshot tone knob controller efforts.
  17. Check your Global Settings > Footswitches. The various settings and behaviours are described in detail in the manual (Global Settings section). Experiment until you find your preferred arrangement.
  18. Use Line 6 Monkey to update it. The pc editor program is called Gearbox. To keep parameters from changing set the knobs to the extreme left/right positions, at the end of the range of movement.
  19. Yes - threads like this are a complete waste of time if one is looking for any real information, technical or otherwise. But this exact thread appears regularly some months after every firmware release, and persists until the next release. Clearly some people find value or at least entertainment here. These aren't the type of threads that one should read before responding. Threads involving technical problems - yes.
  20. You only need to download the most recent firmware - no need to step through all previous releases. If you wait a few days (?) you will be able to install new firmware v2.8.
  21. Do you mean other than at a Line 6 Service Center? https://line6.com/find/service_center/
  22. Sorry - I don't understand what you want. Perhaps you could describe the problem you are having, why you think background noise is involved, and how you would use this wave file to test something?
  23. Yes. Guitar > tuner > wah > Helix. Don't use the Helix FX Loop.
